Thank you - clear concise tutorial. Upcycled a silk tie to a small purse. Used your method and the leftover silk plus cord to make a purse strap. Turned out lovely 😊

Your demonstration is the most clear. Safety pin trick is absolutely helpful. Many thanks. : ))

I've been looking all morning for a clear video of how to do this. Thank you. I want to say this in a way that doesn't make it sound like I am calling you old because clearly you are not but you remind me of my grandmother and your video was excellent.

O MG. You just saved me! I need to cover an upholstery faux I just made during construction and I need to make cording that matches the piping I made. Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Sandra, I didn’t catch whether you use fabric cut on the bias or not. Thanks so much, Kathy

You have an excellent video showing how to sew this. I will definitely do a search for other videos from you. How did you finish the ends? I am making cording for a sweatshirt.

Hi Peggy, thank you for the compliment! Depending on the use, you can finish the ends in different ways. You can cut back the inner cord and then tuck the fabric inside and close up with a ladder stitch or you can do a knot at the ends. If you like, you can follow me on my other channel where I concentrate more on quick sewing tutorials. A lot of what you see here are my Live shows. ruclips.net/channel/UCO-h4vl5vW31SJF7yZ0t6cQ

Great video, thanks. Is there a limit to how long you can make covered welt cord? I need almost two yards of continuous cord. Can I make it that long?

I think you could make two yards without any issues. The main issue with making very long strips, is that some fabric will fray and your stitches will pop, your hands will get tired turning, or the fabric will start to twist around the inner cord. Just double stitch if your fabric tends to fray, or the stitches pop. Hope this helps
