Imagine taking a call on a printer while it is printing. I'm guessing HP didn't have next-level noise cancellation to remove the printer sound. Great video! Look forward to more.
It does matter as HP has single-handedly destroyed their reputation as the best printers on the market. From reducing the quality of their products as the realized they were not selling enough when they were bulletproof, self destructing inkjet printers when the ink sponges might be full (Pro 8600 line) and the obnoxious ink subscriptions. They deserve the ridicule and their dumb ideas have infected the entire industry.
100% I have a Ewaste Rescued 2012ish HP Pavillion All in One PC. The design decisions of this desktop are weird. My plans for it are to upgrade some internals (more ram and duel SSD's, convert it to run some Linux distro, and potentially retrofit external display support (since for whatever reason, this one in particular is missing any external display ports)
I dunno, their old lasers were rock solid. Had a HP 4L for a very long time, and now have a Laserjet 2050p which i got off ebay about 10yrs ago for not a lot. And its still running great.
To be fair, HP still makes stupid decisions. My keyboard at work has a "print" key directly above backspace. I'm currently waiting for a better keyboard to arrive in the post.
@@SultanOfAwesome Just print, with a picture of a printer on it. Print Screen is Fn+F9 (a Clear key is in its normal position) - it's otherwise a full-size (low profile) keyboard.
Here's my HP printer story... I buy a new HP printer every 6 or 7 years, always a middle level printer costing about 200 dollars...And for the next 6 or 7 years I VERY occasionally have to buy a new ink or toner cartridge, and my printer dutifully sits on a shelf printing a few documents a week. This pattern has been playing itself out since about 1996 and I haven't had a dud, needed a repair or had a troublesome HP printer yet. I believe other people when they say they have endless problems with drying out ink etc but somehow I've not experienced it. I do find the special Windows HP printing port that the setup programs configure to be unreliable. I recommend statically giving your printer an IP address and then setting up a TCP/IP port in printer properties with that address manually entered. An annoying process that isn't super intuitive for non-IT people but helps with reliability of communications.
Some HP exec - kids will love this, it has all the things they like, it has app, it has Bluetooth, it works with the social sharing, they can play music on it, probably all that hippie stuff kids like, James Taylor and stuff
That sounds and operates like every generic Chinese bluetooth speaker I’ve ever seen. They did literally glue a cheap BT speaker to a printer. The only connection to the rest of the printer is going to be a 5VDC. That’s it.
Glad you’re doing these again! I can’t make up my mind - part of me thinks this is a good idea and the other definitely does not. Regardless, cool seeing how it functioned. Thank you ~ Chuck
I haven't been this ShOcKed since I tested a 220V dryer socket to see if it was live.. with my tongue I secretly kind of want one (but for G*D's sake don't tell anybody). I would not tell a sole if I bought one - duh! p.s. I accidently spotted a number of them for SALE on the "Bay" for reasonable prices. Will blunders never cease? Thank you for this video. Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd house on the left. p.s. NOT WORKING? TEASE!! I actually don't want one anymore. Bless you!!
lol typical modern hp printers lol. I’m still using a hp m452dn I got from goodwill like 8years ago for 50$ and it had new toner lol. It’s the best printer I’ve ever had. Full color laser. Things old af but still runs like new 😂
In my many years of IT support I did come across a particularly strange one concerning a HP P2014 Laser printer. The issue was unless it had a full tray of paper in it, it would not print, The printer was out of warranty, so it was up to me to figure it out. I came across one article (written in German, I am in the US) that I Google translated and I couldn't believe what I was reading. It said to remove the board, stick it into a preheated oven at 400 degrees for exactly 8 minutes. At this point I had nothing to lose. So I took it home and did it and brought the board back to work and reinstalled it. Danged if it didn't work correctly. The Deputy City Attorney was very pleased that his printer was working correctly and pressed me to what I did to fix it. He refused to believe me. Whatever, it is fixed and it works. The Deputy Assistant Attorney called my boss and then I had my boss not believing me. What was my source? I couldn't believe them getting out shape on how it was fixed. So, I produced the article and slid it across to my boss. What the hell is this? Why Boss, it's a tech article in German, don't you speak or read any foreign languages? They finally dropped it when I produced the Google translation. To this day I have no clue why it was so important to know how, and when told, to not believe it. Whatever!

Can you imagine the noise 😂😂😂
lol
@@TechThrowback ikr lol
Can't wait for the bluetooth speaker part of it to not work because you're out of color ink
Unable to play - OUT OF CYAN

Have you never been at a party and never had the need to print something? Weird.
LMAO, bring me a beer, and the BLUETOOTH PRINTER 🖨️
I’m so happy that the tech channel is back lol
HP is great at the worst combos lol. Some of the Multimedia/DVR PCs from the mid 2000s were so fun to support.

I hate any and all HP printers
They deserve the Office Space treatment.

@@dj_paultuk7052 HP once made good stuff, then Carly Fiorina happened.
Oh man... with how cheaply printers are made, I bet that thing would've buzzed and rattled like a J-body with a trunk full of subs 😬
Yup. This definitely has the Hamilton Beach can opener radio beat.

😂😂😂
I like the idea, because in a small office there's always an old radio hanging out somewhere
In all my years, this is one of your greatest videos.
BTW: I want one.
Airprint is just JetDirect on crack. I can print from a modern Android phone to my LaserJet 4+ from 1994.
They just needed an accessory belt clip and battery pack and you could have been jamming out on the move while printing!
Such a random combination. Surprised they didn't tack on a screen and streaming apps..... Wait, don't give them any ideas...

Print screen or just print? Many keyboards have the print screen button

They just want you to waste ink. Clever design.

I was just looking for one of those
I liked this one. Imagine what you could do with more hours in the day! But we’ll take what we get.
Imagine pulling that out at a party.
What is next? A 3D printer and speaker combo?
Take phone calls from your printer 😂
When the bass drops mine puts lines in the print.
It's hp, doesn't play without valid inks... Probably
Comparable to laser, hmm. The toner cartridges in my laser printer don’t dry out after sitting for a month.

Wow what a weird product but makes a great throwback video
It's SOOOO dumb....I never heard of it. LOL
Like how we instantly got dailies after he moved but still has to go home for TT
Somebody had an idea for a spacesaver...while they were at it should have added a clock radio too
A clock would have made it more useful, and it makes sense in a dorm room setting
Though an air fryer in there to and I’m sold
You need to have full ink cartridges to use the speaker, mic and charger lol
And I thought the next thing they would try to stuff into a printer was a coffee maker
They should have called it the Sprinter 100.
I think this is a great idea.
But with a one year subscription to ink you get three months of Spotify free!!! What could go wrong?!?!
This is the dumbest thing I have seen but still want for some reason
So down for this tear-down! That was an idiotic product, as you say, but really interesting to see how it went together.
How about a printer/capachino machine 😂 why not
Brother is The Best.
PC load letter, WTF does that mean? ,
Great, now I cant print OR listen to my tunes.
JR is a true polymath
now they need to be "online" to be updated.....
like my laser printer
Can't play music bc you are low on: cyan ink
