When you attach tippet do use use another double surgeons knot? or do you use a perfection loop to attach the tippet?

Could one also use a blood knot to join the sections?

You're dealing with a lot of stands of material at each end, I think it would be very difficult to do a blood knot on one of these.

Very good theory, but the transition from theory to practise is not well explained. Also the video doesn’t show how you are using the coffee cups. How many strands are you using for the butt section - 1x16ft or 2x8ft lengths ? I’m guessing, 2x8ft lengths each folded in half to create 4x4ft strands with 2 loops in the middle. I’ve seen other similar videos on making furled leaders but what’s good about yours (except from the above) is that the strands that are twisted are (I think) all 4ft in length. In other videos one has to first twist 2x15ft of line and then twist the twisted lengths, which are often 6ft long. Lots of scope for tangling the strands when they are so long.

all good questions, i think w/regards to the coffee cup question he is putting some of the legs of line through the handle of the coffee cups to keep separated. Capish?
