How to rid your garden containers of snails. Purchase thin sheets of copper. Cut strips of the copper that will wrap around the trim/lip of your raised beds and then fasten. Snails will not cross over copper. The straps need to be wide enough that the snail will have to make an attempt to crawl. Usually 2-3 inches wide. The copper will also look beautiful on your planters/raised beds.

Robbie you can use the glass for plant covers but you can use the wooden or marble bottom as either a short plant stand for visual interest (or under terracotta as it can make wood mold underneath if it gets too wet). Also you can use them as hot plate trivets ❤️

I agree with you about the diatomaceous earth, once it gets wet it’s useless. You can use crushed egg shells also- they work the same way but they don’t dissolve. But they have to be crushed. I’ll be doing research on how to eliminate the potato bugs. They can destroy a plant over night! It’s frustrating. Have you dealt with them? I’d be grateful for any suggestions. Thank you! Do you start amaranyth seeds in ground and when or indoors and when? My water bill in summer is $200 a month.We have vultures that fly overhead. We just had a two day horrible windstorm that tore apart my garden. Scrambled eggs keep chickens healthy. My banty chickens as a kid ate fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy.
I leave the aphids as the blue tits and wrens love them. I also have earwigs. I catch them in upsidedown pots of straw. Then I move them and release them into trees because they also eat aphids. If I get overrun with them, I knock them into soapy water. 👍

I've used "sluggo plus" granules for earwigs and it worked pretty well. Of course if beer or soysauce traps work, it might be cheaper
