So good to see travel vloggers that don't moan and groan or judgemental. I had a chance to live and work in VN for 10 yrs and had moved back to the West for more than 8 yrs now and I miss VN a great deal. I remember being able to enjoy my time there by living and hanging out with locals and reminding myself what would I have to pay in the US or in the West in general to get i) good living accommodations ii) fun transportation iii) delicious food at ridiculous price iv) having fun and friendly people helping me cope with local issues v) visit gorgeous scenery. Those constant reminders made my time in VN so much more enjoyable. As for your thanking the viewers, I must say I get more out of your videos than you out of my thumbs up. Take care
Absolutely agree with this comment. I have travelled extensively in south east Asia and I never recommend it to my friends unless you have the attitude these guys have. Amazing personalities
Value and treasure every moment you have with your dad. Nothing is more meaningful than having to traveling with your father. It'll be the most valuable memory that will forever stay in your heart; when someday, in his older age that he will be no longer around you. I wish I could travel with my dad. Enjoy every moment of your travel.
Early in the vid, you said "so many boats!" Actually, there're too MANY boats now! Ha Long Bay authorities should've limited the number of vessels allowed, but, too late now! I'll be there in October/November, but trying a cruise with more of a concentration on Lan Ha Bay. Keeping my fingers crossed Lan Ha isn't overwhelmed as well!
Luxury cruise indeed! So glad you chose a great boat for the experience. Traffic from Ha Noi to Ha Long can be busy (thru Uong Bi), but I'd guess you preferred not to be riding bikes alongside the many big buses. I don't recognize the port you taxi'd to the boat from, so guessing that may have been Toan Chau island with empty resort remodels underway, rather than the main Ha Long Bay marina. Ha Long (city) is bustling tier 1 city with a big Sun Group amusement park across "friendship" bridge. Really great place. I'm surprised if they didn't take you Surprise (Sung Sot) Cave, the iconic Ha Long Bay picture. The floating vendors use long telescoping nets to deliver snacks/beer and retrieve payment. And it's true...very difficult to escape karaoke in VN, even on Ha Long Bay! So happy you got to experience it, and shared it with us! (P.S. I replied with the address of Quan an Ngon on Hanoi video)
I feel like Vietnam has really shown the love and care you have for one another more like ride apart made you appreciate your togetherness if that make sense. I love the bloopers you should have left ‘danger zone’ in it made me laugh, your sense of humour is very cute and I would love to see more of it in your vlogs.
living vicariously through your travels and really loving the vietnam series! super wholesome! Can't wait to be back. Would love to know your itinerary or your highlights of this trip!
That’s so awesome to see it from your perspective! I’m Vietnamese and I have been to Halong Bay so many times, each time a different cruise. Orchid Cruise is the first boat I’ve been on and initially I’ve had the same impressions as you guys so to see your reactions is very nostalgic. Hope you keep making these kinds of videos about travelling and making each moments count!
Cool, you guys seem to really enjoy it. That was fancy. The boat I was on was like a fishing boat compare to this (though it is much cheaper (but I guess you get what you pay for)). And at night there is a karaoke party. It was like a backpacker party boat. Yours was more high-end.
I'm going on a Europe/South Asia travel next year and I have been loving following your journey! I am learning a lot, but mostly just enjoying your company ;) Much love from Quebec
Tia, I tried to ride a scooter here in Koh Samui, I have a new found respect for you and what you did on your road trip in Vietnam! I ended up returning the scooter as I couldn't keep my balance!! Bravo!!
Ha Long Bay looks amazing!! That's definitely one spot I want to visit in Vietnam! I'm so glad that you have such a supportive community here on RUclips so that you two can do more of these amazing experiences :)
We went in October 2019 and the weather was amazing, it's the best month to go cruising. My next adventure is the Ha Giang loop in August 2022, on our second trip to Vietnam. We plan on having a week in Nha Trang too as we didn't go there on our first trip. It's a 100 percent must do to go cruising out on the bay. Get a room with a balcony but all that other fancy stuff in your room isn't needed as you won't spend much time in your cabin.
Hello one Pack wonder again We are so happy for you that’s your trip to Ha Long bay.💕 you all deserve all the best Viet Nam can offer. Enjoy your stay. Love you all 💑💖🇻🇳
Hi guys! Fantastic! I did Halong Bay years ago on a smaller boat but it was very nice too. We had a balcony too. Another great boat trip is the Three Gorges in China. Maybe some day you can do that
So glad you got to Halong Bay- and really happy to see you splurge on special experience with your Dad as well. Looking forward to following your next country adventures. I just love how much you are enjoying your travels- reminds me to be grateful for all the amazing places I ve been able to visit whilst living in Singapore - take care xx
David and I were just talking about a trip to Vietnam next year and your videos are making us want to go there even more!! Thank you for the great content guys!!
You guys should totally send stuff home w/ Cheveyo’s dad to lighten your backpacks when he travels back home….so you can accumulate more stuff on your travels. 🤣
Hello Tia Cheveyo and Dad such a enjoyable video loved your overnight Ha Long Bay Cruise. A must for me to do. Thank you for the journey love how you are both so positive. I thought Dad looks different could not work out then Oh hair cut lol Hope Dad is enjoying himself. Take Care. .
Wow! I didn't know they have overnight cruises through Ha Long Bay! I'll have to save up for that when I'm there. What a great way to see this natural wonder. Is it just for the one night?
I love the way you say ( you can really hear the bats in here ) then look up and around with your mouth open after being dripped on so many times on your adventures 👍🍻
Ha! I have always made pineapple jack o lanterns for Halloween as they’re easier to carve out than a pumpkin….and smell yummy too and us mum’s can have pineapple cocktails while the kids roam the street…but it’s warm in Australia at Halloween and sometimes a really long weekend . Love the show and cheers from here! 🐨🙏🥂🍍🍍🍍🍍
That insubordination to the kayak captain should not be tolerated. Once back on the mothership, a mutiny trial shall convene. The only acceptable response to the captain's command is "Aye Aye, Captain!" and that wasn't it.
Trevor and I got a good laugh when you guys revealed the sharing of the room! 😅 we travel with my sister and we are usually always sharing a room together also. ✨👍👍 Fun video! Looking forward to watching more of your travels in Vietnam 🇻🇳 💛 We love Vietnam and can’t wait to go back!! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦 🍻 ✨ subscribed! ☑️
I do not remember the name of the vessel, but we went with a company called Orchid Cruises. Definitely felt like we ended up on a pretty nice cruise. The food especially was really good.
That looked amazing! We were surprised at how busy it looked? Question - totally not meaning this at all in any kind of judgy way, I promise - are masks not required there anymore? We didn't see many people in backgrounds and stuff wearing them. Super excited to see how the cruise finishes (and to see what new gear is coming!!).
Wearing mask is still required but not strictly, I believe Vietnam will lift this requirement soon because this country has basically reached herd immunity with high vaccination rate. In fact, Vietnam fully reopens borders for international tourists without any requirement of covid test, quarantine, vaccine passport, medical declaration. Life is returning pre-covid normal.
They are still technically required. But we’ve observed maybe 10% mask usage in Vietnam (even in the airport). Generally we try to do whatever the locals are doing in regards to masks 😷🙂
The in-person tour companies around Hanoi (there are many) arrange transportation as part of the deal. I don’t recall the name of the tour agency we used, but they are all very similar and the process is painless 🙂
Just wait until you get there to book a tour. You want to make sure the weather is good. Your hotel in Hanoi will probably have pamphlets or check travel stores around the area. I booked mine through Klook. I just book a day tour that included luxury van pick up, meal/snack, kayaking and the big cave tour for less than $40 in 2019. They have different packages you can choose from.
When did you actually go on your trip? We might have missed you by a day. We went on Monday, June 13th and it rained on Monday night. Things cleared up on Tuesday morning and then it started to rain again.
