I cant express how much I love this. I mean I looked at it and I got a fucking panic attack, well more of a love attack because I just love shuichi so much wothekkkdoeg
I just noticed this after watching this for the 5th time today, but when the butterfly's wings are completely open, the circular designs near the bottom are a "V" and a "3," which is an obvious nod to Danganronpa V3. But what makes it a little more symbolic is that the butterfly is meant to represent in-game Shuichi, and he was part of the V3 game, and that fact becomes even more clear when you take into account the butterfly's markings of the "V3." I just thought that was a cool little touch from the animator! also, throughout the beginning, pre-game Saihara seems to be almost acting out how he wants his "character" self to act (picking up his costume and moving the sleeves), and when he looks into the mirror, he sees the character he wants to play out in a sense. He seems to believe he is in full control of the outcome of the game. So when his "creation" turns on him, and in-game Shuichi "shoots him down," he seems surprised that it didn't go the way he intended it to, and how different his "character self" seems. Or maybe i'm just reading to much into it lmao edit: the crumpled pieces of paper (if that is indeed what they are) could also indicate that pre-game Saihara's plans for his "character" were foiled.
I know I'm late to the party, but this video is really well done! The animation is subtle so you can watch it multiple times and still get something new from it... as well as obvious things so the first time watching it is just as amazing. The song choice was really good, and it also fit the animation aesthetic nicely. There's more I could say, but I won't waste time repeating others' compliments as I've already done.
