    Thanks for the video. Clear to me and LSD install is not a DIY without special tools and some info on preload setting.

      Armgod Black Okello it can be tricky but plenty help out there online if you know where to look! Not impossible to do yourself

      @@EP91STARLET I have donor LSD diff from a 2000 Celica, inserting into a 2001 Celica which has open diff.
      One quick question:
      If I have OEM LSD diff from the same car same gearbox as donor, can I just slam it in without going adjusting any shims and preload?
      Seller Said: No don't worry about any preloads, just drop this in and it will work fine.
      A mechanic buddy here disagrees and suggests my best bet is removing and reusing the old bearing from the open diff which has been running with the existing shims in my recipient car. But again he insists preload must be tested to ensure it's within accepted range.
      I don't have preload testing tool!

      @@armgod1 your mechanic friend is correct. Ideally preload must be checked as you are adjusting the weight or load on the bearings as they are tapered. Too loose or tight and it will wear the bearings prematurely.
      But yes if you use the shim and bearings from your original box with the open diff that would be the closest in my opinion.
      Try to keep the bearings and the races mounted in the casing as a pair as they are a pair when they are new and have worn together over time.

    any problems you encountered after the install? or was everything fine? im debating whether or not to swap an lsd from an mr2 into my celica c64 transmission

    • @MrYusuf989
      @MrYusuf989 3 года назад

      what transmission are you using? C60? i found a manual for c60 that has different preload values than yours. 0.8-1.6Nm new. 0.5-1Nm old bearings

      No issues with installing the LSD, just needed to swap the crown wheel over and bearings but it fitted in no problem
