    Sarah walks you through her review of the Xero Shoes Z-Trek. It's one of two pair she carries with her on the bicycle! Kind of a big deal.
    In the video she custom cuts them to fit her toe length, explains how they can be adjusted for your proper fit, and her experience with customer service.
    Thumbs up for these minimal sandals!

    Those are sick! It looks like a chaco but way lighter. Will be trying to get a pair for Japan to cut some weight. A company that stands behind their product is a huge WIN in my book. Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks for this review, I was looking for something like these to pop in the panniers for an upcoming tour. I actually ended up getting the Trail ones, older cyclists like me are always looking for added creature comforts, thanks for the tip! 😊 I watched a number of your bike tour videos and found them fun and informative and it is obvious you are both very in your endeavours. Nice job, I hope you guys go cycle touring again in the not too distant future... And of course post more videos about it... 😊

    I have a pair of these. They are awesome and actually have a size that fit my size 14 feet. 😉. You both look like you're having fun. I can't wait for better weather up here in Canada for both sandals and biking!

      +Ian Brown haha that is awesome you found a pair that fit! They are a great product. Hope you get some sunshine and warmth soon! Let those toes breathe :)

  • @UltaPowderfinger

    You needed to trim off way more than that, even after the second trim. Their sizing guide shows the ends of the toes much closer to the end than yours are, even after the second trim. I run in sandals a lot and length beyond the toes is just a liability. I would have thought that having a little extra would be a good thing. Since I've been running in them, I have learned that is not the case. Nice feet!! :)

    PRO TIP: Cutting off the heel cup makes them crazy light. Also, use leather punch to cut holes throughout the sole to make them even more light and super flexible.

    What size do u wear in regular women’s shoes and what size did u order for the xero shoes?? :) thanks so much!!

    • @Wanderlikewater
      @Wanderlikewater  4 года назад

      8 and 8! One of my feet is a size 7.5 so I always order for the bigger foot. I think they make the bottom slightly longer so it can be customizable.

    I have the original DIY Xero sandal kit. They stay in my wife's car for times when she insists I wear shoes lol. But on the bike I prefer to clip in with walkable SPD shoes.

      Sarah rocks the Xero's and Patrick rocks the SPD shoes for riding! We love em both.

    How come you didn't order a smaller size? 🤔

    • @Wanderlikewater

      +Jane Doe good question! Sarah has different sized feet, so going larger and custom fitting them made sense.

    it kind of looked like your pinky toe was scrunched up in those sandals. maybe I'm wrong but isn't it better to have wider sandals?

    • @Wanderlikewater
      @Wanderlikewater  7 лет назад +2

      +Aleks Kigelman they are wide and fit my feet great! Depends on your personal foot width. My pinky toe must have been camera shy if it looked scrunched. Been wearing these shoes almost daily for a year now and love them.

    Should not strike on the heel.. look at how people do "barefoot" running..

  • @sallyquinn9851
    @sallyquinn9851 6 лет назад

    I think they’re really cute but I don’t like the idea of running in sandals. Seems like they don’t offer much arch support and the straps would blister your feet

    • @Wanderlikewater
      @Wanderlikewater  6 лет назад +1

      No blisters from the straps! They definitely don't offer arch support, but that is part of the design - to strengthen your feet so your arches are self supporting. More difficult walking on pavement vs. natural surfaces.

    I see a case of plantar just looking at them. Rocky trails? No way. Use them for campsite kayak or public showers, that's it.

      Do you think that Native Americans had arch support?

    • @krjamesjr
      @krjamesjr 3 года назад +1

      I think we may have an inaccurate idea of what causes plantar fasciitis. You shouldn’t need arch support: if our arches were intended to touch the ground - well, they wouldn’t be arches.
