Also, if you want a better acceleration response, upgrade your fuel injectors, but ur going to need those breathers for air to fuel ratio. More air will give higher combustion, but the velocity will be off w/o the right fuel to air ratio. So breathers and fuel injectors. Different grades of injectors are rated by how much fuel is released, 8 port, 10port, 12 port, or 16 ports wholes

if your plastic parts start flaking ,next time use and adhesion promoter , or "plastic primer" bulldog brand is pretty good, and you dont really dont need high temp engine enamel for your plastic bits it mainly for the metal parts like blocks, valve covers heat shields ect. normal base coat and clear will hold up just fine and you can find them both in can form, so if you dont have a gun and compressor its ok, not knocking your methods just tips for the next time, oh and if youre painting washing parts sanding, and priming are hella important steps to help the paint stick and reducing orange peel

Thank you! It’s in the video! I used primer, then gloss black, “chrome” paint, then VHT Niteshade red spray tint, sprinkled cherry red glitter from Michael’s Art Store, and sealed it all in with 2K High Gloss Clearcoat!

Ur not suppose to do this with stock pistons and valve springs, its mainly for turbo cars, but all motor passes. Dont blow up your car. U need, valve springs, hydraulic buckets, external oil pump, but its a v6 so it can handle it minorly, lightwight

There's a plastic tab on the spray hole that you're supposed to take off. Could be the cause of the dripping. We had the same issue spraying my boys wheels and his wife brought it to our attention lmao

You should have done the bar just red in the middle and outside lip black cause the engine cover in the bar on top of it it's just too much red but it still looks nice real nice I think I'm going to do that does my Lexus maybe in blue but I got to watch the video to see how you did it does that Chrome I really understand why you use the Chrome for I need to see my blue option of the cans you bought

I’m curious as to why you put the covers in the sun after sanding them
I didn’t sand them and then put them in the sun! It was after my coat! To help them dry a bit faster! But it was more so I can see the sparkle and try to match it with the other pieces I was about to paint!😅
Great tutorial, you might want to use a respirator though… 2k clear is pretty nasty stuff

Hey Jason...I have been watching your awesome videos for awhile and just noticed you don't have aftermarket air intake? It's stock? Would it better to install one along with your exhaust to have better engine sound and air flow?

It definitely sounds better, I still think stock is always gonna be best for the car cause it’s covered. CAIs are normally exposed so you’re exposing the intake to engine heat
@@JasonNguyen the f sport oem intake is something to look into if you like. Still uses the air filter box instead of the others that are exposed.
@@Casualazn81 I heard it’s nice! I’m just running the AFE Takeda cause it was free and I’m gonna change out the whole assembly when I supercharge so I don’t mind running it for now

What sand paper did you use and how long did you have too wait between each coat of black?
I used 800, 1000, & then 1200!
I waited 15-20 mins between every coat!

When painting. You should move your arms a bit slower so that most of the paint catches and try to keep your arm at the same distance so its equal amount of product going on the project. But other than that love the video 👍👍👍

What grit sandpaper did you use to wet sand your engine cover? Did it remove the blemishes without ruining the base cost?
I used a 1400 grit! It pretty much fine sanded it!

Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate it! Can’t wait for you to do yours as well! It’s so much fun! Yes, I recommend a high temp clear. 2K clearcoat is pretty high temp. I think it can withstand up to 300 degrees. As long as your primer and base coat are very high temp, you will be fine!!
Jason Nguyen okay awesome thank you for the reply. I done a practice today on a small plastic piece with normal plastic primer (not high temp), gloss black (high temp) and clear coat (not high temp) i’m gonna run it for a bit and see if it goes bad then i’ll do it properly 😅

Thank you so much! Yeah I like their engine bay set up in terms of all the plastic you can paint or hydro dip! I didn’t paint it because I wasn’t thinking about it at the time haha. I may get a cold air intake for the time being but at the same time I don’t want to waste money on one because I do want to supercharge in the future. And that will have a cold air intake set up in the kit itself!

When did you add glitter?? Right after your last coat of red?? Like what it's still wet??
Yes! Right after the last coat of red! And once it’s dry and stuck into the red paint, I seal it with 2K clear coat!

No problem! I used some red glitter I found at Miachaels Art Store! You can pretty much use any glitter you’d like! Gold flakes into the red would be neat too!
