  • In this video I ask the question, Should you care about the packaging your fragrance comes in?
    As you guys have seen in the past, when I review fragrances, the first segment of my review discusses packaging. When we are discussing Niche fragrances, I think it's super important to review the full package of what you buy. From the packaging, the bottle design, and the scent in itself.
    As a fragrance collector, enthusiast, or even a person who likes to buy stuff. From when you walk out the store, to unboxing the item you bought, you know you care about the unboxing experience. It's a rush of enjoyment.
    Take.a look at the video and answer the question of DO YOU CARE about the packaging your fragrance comes in. Do you have cool ways to display your fragrance? If you do, hit me up on instagram, post a pic of your collection and share it with me, I'll post it in my stories.
    Enjoy the video and as always, Please make sure you Subscribe, Like, Comment, and Share the video.

    Absolutely I care about the packaging. It sets the precedence of buying a niche fragrance. Argos thus far has the next presentation.

      Absolutely man! It’s just the full on experience, and brownie points if I can use the packaging in my cabinet for display! Thanks for dropping by bro!

    Great topic Mudar. Packaging definitely matters, and I don't think it cost so much more to invest into a designer and manufacture nicer boxes. Xerjoff is not that expensive, but their boxes make you feel like it's a luxury experience. On a side note, not many customers can appreciate the nice packaging. If they buy it for the scent. AND most people just don't keep any boxes. (no excuse to make ugly cardboard boxes anyways, if you're charging anywhere from $6/ml. imo)

      Thabk you Alisa! And it’s true, not everryyyone cares about it, but I’m sure if you give them a reason to care and make it special, it’ll be something that makes your brand stand out.
      I feel like a great box is a thank you from the brand for purchasing their fragrance. A creeds box is more like a middle finger to me haha

    In my opinion, if Lattafa is able to make awesome boxes for their bottles, any brand ares able to make it. Specially the ones with the 300$+ range. Personnally, I like the process of the packaging, making a full experience into buying a new bottle. Miss that sometime when buying in discount or on grey market. That being said, with the small space storage I have at home, I only kept the Xerjoff and FDB boxes. They're the ones worth to be save lol

      I totally agree, Lattafa has some awesome packaging/box ideas, and especiallyyyyyy for boadicea, I would expect it to be treated like a collectors edition you know? $1600 for a bottle is crazy, but take advantage of the zodiac line, or the sapphire line. It’s premium, make it feel premium.

    The box design provides the initial impression but I almost never keep the box unless I plan to sell a fragrance in future for a better value.
    To me bottle design is so much more important, it’s feel and experience with caps. Because although I may keep the box, I will almost never use or see it again. And it also occupies space so it gets stashed somewhere or thrown out (like Creed boxes 😂)
    As always, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      I totally here you, I do appreciate a nice stand with the box that can be used in the display, or even like the FDB or xerjoff box, just looks so elegant haha

    I’ve bought some pricey/high-end fragrances & personally, the quality of the bottle & atomizer are far more important to me than the box. BUT I will say it’s extremely noticeable when you buy something pricey & the box is clearly an afterthought or not a thought at all (I’m looking at you Lancome Oud Bouquet!) That is a STUNNING BOTTLE with a perfect magnetic cap but it’s thrown into a flimsy, paper-barely cardboard, too big a box, with zero protection. Like SLAMMING around inside-not even a tight fit! It wins the award for most bizarre out there-SO BAD. Esp when I open some my cheap-ass ME frags that have amazing boxes & bottles but cost $35. Make it make sense!😅
    I’ll say one of my biggest points of contention is the CAP. I cannot deal with a crappy fitting or snapping cap. There should be a law (lol) that ALL NICHE/high end bottles are required to have magnetic caps. I’m floored by how bad some caps are on expensive frags.(Rosendo Mateu is notorious but I love their simple bottles.)
    I keep all of my boxes for resale but just don’t personally put that much emphasis on that aspect. I will say I thought my first few niche fragrances like: FDB & Xerjoff were RIDICULOUS with their satin & blankets & coffins😂😂but I guess I’ve come to appreciate them a tiny bit. If I spend $1,500 on a frag you damn well better believe I’m finding that box UNACCEPTABLE though😂They need to do WAY BETTER!

      That’s the thing right? I understand if a fragrance is priced low mid tier, brands can’t spend on extravagant packaging, especially if they put the effort into juice quality. But brands that charge upwards of $600 or more, it neeeeeds to be a collectors item. Give us a little something something, haha at least some bottle security lol

    Habibi New York, Xerjoff, Argos and Fragrance du Bois all have really nice packaging. Higher price fragrances should have deluxe packaging. It adds to the initial overall experience. But for me, the boxes end up in a closet and eventually in the garbage.

      @FoodnFragrances  19 дней назад +1

      I'll def check out Habibi New York, I haven't heard of them. Currently yes, a lot of my boxes are in my closet, but if and when I expand my cabinet, I'll def organize them with some of the boxes in there for aesthetics. Some yes, I can throw away, others, I can't bring myself to doing it haha. Im a natural hoarder

  • @SuperKingkong1989

    I care about the packaging but I care more about the price as well. And spending $1500 it's just insane for a fragrance unless the smells for the fragrance last more than 2 days than it's worth buying at the price range. If it only last for a day scent than not worth $1500 don't care how great the packaging is

    • @FoodnFragrances
      @FoodnFragrances  19 дней назад +1

      I hear that, there’s different stages in the fragrance game, I’ll say that. For some, spending 1500$ on a fragrance doesn’t make sense, and I agree with that. And for others, it’s a hobby or something they appreciate and they have the means for that. It’s all about where that particular person is and wants to be in their journey. I don’t knock it lol.

    BTV has mid packaging at best but great bottles and juice. I do personally prefer a great pressurized atomizer over packaging. For example Essential Parfums are a dirt cheap niche but the atomizer is fantastic. I honestly don’t understand why some of the super expensive brands do t use better atomizers.

    • @FoodnFragrances
      @FoodnFragrances  6 дней назад

      I totally agree with you, a perfect atomizer for me is key. I know some brands have it built into design, if it’s to keep a low profile spray, or dispersion of juice so it’s even. But the ones that buckshot it out the bottle makes 0 sense to me. Especially niche, like my expectation is, niche you only do perfumes, so everyyyyy thing needs to be considered
