The problem Florida homeowners are having with insurance is due to their own greed Thousands of you have colluded with roofing contractors and attorneys to get your insurance carrier to pay for a new roof once your roof is close to the end of its useful life.
I personally know of three homeowners who have bragged about getting new roofs paid for by their insurance company even though the damage had NOTHING to do with storm damage... it was simply a 20-year-old roof that needed to be replaced because it started leaking.
This insurance scam is throughout the state. Roofing contractors are getting rich with it.

The average property tax in FL is .91% and there is no state income tax, no capital gains tax, average sales tax, and flat registration fee on vehicles. Meanwhile, NJ is still a communist wasteland of corruption, taxes, and disastrous infrastructure. If you make a decent living, all of the other savings far outweigh the property insurance issue.
