All police and emergency people should get the talk to text app.
The phone is placed in front of them with the screen facing deaf person.. As they speak, the phone texts the statements made so the deaf person understands.

Please do not equate people speaking in Spanish, Tagalog, or American Sign Language as entertainment, and exotic. You are not praising or uplifting the Deaf when you do this. You are actually making us “othered” and degrading us and ASL. If you saw a gang member who is Deaf telling you they were going to do horrible things like kill or rob or beat you up, it would NOT look pretty or cool to you.

Not fast actually. Oregon style ASL is not slow or fast. You should see New York Deaf sign.

Oh, the irony of calling an American police department the Department of Public SAFETY

When they come to a home where someone has been threatened, and rescue them and arrest the perpetrator, they do create safety and enforce the law. Not all cops are evil.
