IDA Press Conference: 05-30-12 Mountain Lion Shooting in Santa Monica

In the wake of the tragic shooting of a young mountain lion who had made his way into the City of Santa Monica from nearby mountains, IDA held a widely covered press conference to call for a collaboration between the city and its responders, CA Fish and Game, and IDA and local wildlife experts from Animal Advocates and The Paw Project, to assure that future visits from wildlife end with successful capture and return to the wild.
If your own city does not have a humane response to animal emergencies, please contact your city officials and request that they get training from experts in animal behavior, whether those animals are wildlife or even domestic dogs, who are too often killed due to lack of responder training.
