Oh the Ionizer, the amalgam of X-Wing and Apache helicopter design influence on a spaceship, bulked up with cargo space and a separate container operated with the magnet crane plus the robot. I mean, wow. So many cool things in a single package. My favorite prized set of the era and the one that had the least dust from the LEGO shelf in those long past days. Dreading the remake if they do it though, new Space isn't near this cool.

The Particle Ionizer, the best looking spaceship I think Lego has ever designed. I absolutely love this set. I see you have built the Type 2 variant. That the more popular one among the fandom, but I’ve always like the Type 1 a bit more. I have both version built though, as it’s still amazing either way.
I agree with you on the Stellar Recon Voyager. That was the last M:Tron I got and only got it recently as I didn’t like the look much. After having finally gotten it, my opinion hasn’t changed. But it does however have some good parts for building an M:Tron base. So I might do that with it.
I really enjoy your content. I like that there is a lego reviewer and alt builder that shares my passion for the old space subthemes.

Are there anywhere instructions for the V1 online? I sadly got only a built copy that needed a lot of dusting.

@@grohl666There were two versions of the set, differing in the way the main rotor is attached to the rest of the fuselage: one using clips (like in your video), and one using a hinge brick. I think the change was made because the rotor assembly came detached too easily.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to find online any instructions for the version with the hinge brick.

@@AVCampos81 Thanks. On a side note: I recently built the first version of the Technic Tractor 851. I think the main reason for rereleasing it was the amount of mistakes and confusion the original instructions generated. The newer ones finally have the element overview and have double the amount of steps.

Even not considering my love for M:Tron, this is in my opinion the most innovative concept ever for LEGO Space: who would have guessed that a "space helicopter" would not only not end up ridiculous, but even extremely cool?
And thank you for bringing up this great set in this great theme: I think it's of the perfect size and distinctiveness to receive a modern overhaul, in the vein of the Galaxy Explorer and the Blacktron Cruiser (Mega Core Magnetiser would be even more iconic, but it's probably too big). Hopefully your Space colleagues watch this video and get some inspiration!
