I pay the important tax as soon as tracking states it will be required. It is released the same day then. I saw this loco on the German store. It's a lovely looking loco.
Thanks, Yeah I've been after this for a while now. The next big purchase is the Ree Tgv Speed Record set due in February or March, I have that on preorder from Lippe. Or I may buy from A&H.
@@hovermotion I like the Ree models. I have some WWI wagons from them. I did want a loco but it was about £350 and it was only a small steam locomotive.
Hello Jim! Congrats to this beautiful model!! Thanks for sharing....it is hard to resist to just go and buy one after seeing it in your presentation!! Well done and have fun!! Dirk
9 days from the day you ordered from another country it is in your hands. You won't see that here in the states even if just crossing the border. It is good to see Roco stand behind the product but I'm surprised they would send you a motor like that so they must trust you immensely. The new loco has screws on the truck plates instead of clips and that should be on all new locomotives and trams in the future. The manufacturers are going the extra mile with the esthetics so why not the mechanicals. The new loco is a looker, and it was dialed in on how steady it was on the test track. Great buy and review, Jersey Bill
@@JerseyBill-x9r HI Bill, Yeah this loco like all Roco models I have are extremely reliable normally but the motor was a dud and could not be repaired. The shipping time from Germany is sometimes 5 days as the company usually ships the same day as ordering. The shop has a special deal with FedEx as the shipping is extremely cheap and most times you have a rebait towards your next item from the previous bought item. Model shop Lippe has an extremely good setup and fantastic customer service.
@@hovermotion I shipped 4 locomotives to Canada to Harrison from the RUclips channel "SMT Mainline" in a box 10 inches (25.4 cm) by 10 inches (25.4 cm) by 3 inches (7.6 cm) tall and weighed less than 5 pounds and it cost me $65 (53.34 pound). Not even God knows what it will cost after Trump gets in and alienates every country in the world, lol. I'm sorry for venting like this, Jersey Bill
No way that post is way too high its bonkers how Canada has silly tariffs and other taxes for flying I suppose as well. I have ordered another item from Germany today but its below the import threshold so no extra taxes or Vat tax and the post is 9euro ish flat rate for all items into the UK from Model shop Bhan lippe . I had a rebate so the post was 2 euros. I reckon it will arrive a week today. 👍🏻
Hi Jim , great model very well detailed and fitted with great sound effects , but the import charges were £48 ? That's a lot of money , i didn't realise !
Hi Eddy for me to inport to the UK the total costs were £233. The RRP fpr this model is around 400+ euros so it was well worth paying the extra costs for me. Shame the UK is no longer in the Euro.
@@hovermotion if we were still in euro you would still VAT at the moment VAT is not charged by EU but VAT is charged by GB Import Tax and Fed Ex collect the charge on behalf of GB
Don't forget, the German VAT of 19% was deducted at sale and 20% UK VAT added at import. A zero sum game apart from the fixed clearance fee. When the UK was in the EU single market the German VAT would have been paid at the point of sale. Now for imports bellow £135 in value no UK VAT is paid so they are often cheaper than before.
Super 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Stunning loco Jim, amazing livery 👍
Very rare livery of lok ,congrat👍🏻
That looks a solid nicely designed model.
The are very well designed and very easy to strip down and rebuild.

Hi Dirk , there's so many to choose from in the Taurus and Vectron from Roco there must be 100 liverys.
@hovermotion Yes, that is very true!! I like the Taurus and Vectrons myself....
Very Beautiful Loco 👍💯
Interesting change in packaging, and a gorgeous loco... great livery! I wish I had bought the first one on your desk though, even more.
Thanks Anthony,
These models are so nice another stunning service from lippe..just ordered another item today but no import tax this time.

Very interesting Jim. Its excellent Roco have started fixing the small details. Deryck
Hi Deryck,
Yeah I was surprised to see this and the new box design.
👍🏻
Two awesome Locos love the sound on the new one impressive
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Nice loco Jim
I've seen online that ROCO has recalled some locos for safety reasons. Think it had to do with an electrical component or something.
@@ollychap1985 HI Oliver, thanks for watching, Yeah it's rare that Roco do recalls.
