I followed your video instructions, saved my TORO mower, which stopped after running for about 20 - 30 seconds. I was about to give it up after trying everything I could (changing air filter, oil, gas) until I discovered your video. Step by step instruction in such great details helped me tremendously. I opened up the carburetor and sprayed clean it, changed a new fiber washer. Now it runs like new. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. You are a hero!!!

Thanks man. Came in very handy today. Elderly neighbor saw that I work on cars a lot so he asked if I could take a look at his Craftsman w/ 6.5hp Tecumseh. Got it running in an hour or so with your video. Thanks again!!

I have the same lawn mower with a similar problem. But I found out that I just needed to replace the float (although I replaced the needle and the o-ring, too). I couldn't have done it without this video! My husband says I am awesome and he can't believe that I fixed it without his help! Thank you!

Great video! Way to break down “every” step. You would be surprised how so many other videos don’t go into the most important details. It helped me so
    much. Thanks you.

Wow I didnt know the bolt in the bottom of carb was a functional part of the carborater. I took mine out and did not see any holes period. I bet that is my problem. Please God let that be it. Thanks for the great service you doing for your fellow mankind. You are a great asset to YT, and a great human being.

same i agree, as i stated above my grandma purchased the personal pace mower that i still use to this day, 10 years ago! what an awesome mower toro made. never replaced a wheel or anything. i do need to replace the back grass guard that drags the ground because its ripped but thats very minor. ill never buy anything but toro push mowers thats for sure👌

Great video! My Toro was stubborn to start and sputtered the whole time. I am not much of a mechanic at all and have never operated on my mower until now. This video gave me all the insight I needed. Cleaned her up and replaced a few parts and now she is mowing as good as the day I got her! Thanks!

Hey donyboy, just wanted to extend a big thank you for your videos. There are a lot of people just trying to make a buck in this world, and I appreciate the fact that you took the time to show people how to do some diagnosis on their own. I am an engine noob and through a few of these videos, I figured out that I needed a new magneto and some new carburetor gaskets. Now the engine runs very well again - and for way cheaper than had I gone to the repair shop. Thanks again - cheers!

Wow Thanks. I bought one at a garage sale last year for $20, looked like new. The owner had put mixed gas in it. I changed the gas cleaned the plug and run all summer then it quit. I took it apart today and "thought" I had cleaned the carburetor. THEN I watched your video. It was those little jets in the bolt that hold the bowl on that I had missed. Very good video..

Great video - very clear and detailed. I have one like this that won't start. When I pulled the float bowl, there was no gas inside it. After trying everything on the video, I finally put in a new carb. There are 2 internal needle jets inside that can't be adjusted or cleaned. If their bad, the carb has to be replaced. The only recommendation I have to add is to change the gas line when you pull the tank

    Hello!
This is a very good video post. While i was watching it another idea came to my mind. I went out put the mower on its right side so i can access the carburettor. Using 1/2 wrench i removed the cover, cleaned it and the O-ring. Then i removed the pin and took out the niddle. I didn't have carburettor spray/cleaner so i simply used deodorant spray to blow it clean.
Everything went back in place and now i can start the mower with half pull.
Thank you very much for the great post.

My 22" Toro 6.5 HP mower with Tecumseh engine (model 20007) wouldn't start. Fresh gas wasn't enough. After watching this video, felt comfortable attempting maintenance myself. Home Depot has Toro kit (Model 20236) with new air filter, spark plug, engine oil, and gas stabilizer for $15.44. Also bought can of carburetor spray. Came home, and in less than an hour had the machine apart and back together. Video correctly identified all the parts, tools, and steps needed. Worked on the first pull!

Thank you so much sir. I viewed this video and followed your instructions. That little tiny hole right below the threads was non existent on my 2006 model 20016 so i made one. Small though. The mower was not cranked since 2010 when the transmission quit working. I cleaned the plug and put in fresh fuel and she cranked up on second pull and purrs. AMAZING. My next job is to change the tranny (part no 106-3955). Can't find instructions for this model. Will use schematic. Thanks again Dony

Great video and quick fix, most cases. I'm not a small engine shop but I do have own a lawn mower and an edger - both with tecumseh engines. Even though I have rebuilt carburetors previously on my own equipment, I could have saved time and a few bucks (carb kit) had I previously found this video. I just purchased a nice used mower off of craigslist for $38 that did not run, as I suspected it was either bad gas or a dirty carb. I used the technique in this video and saved time and money, and fixed a lawn mower. With a new blade, spark plug and fresh oil, this one should sell quickly for a nice profit.

I have a 2 stroke Toro GTS that was not stored properly, with the fuel left in it for a very long time, and the carb was incredibly gummed up with brown tar blocking everything.
Always draining out the carb entirely for storage would have prevented it, but the previous owner never did it.

@@donyboy73 yea i can tell the new ones are extremely light which in a way is a good thing but on the other hand its flimsy. my old toro even has the electric start. i should slap a new battery in it and a starter solenoid if it needs it. i havent used the electric start in years. thanks for the response ✌

Awesome video. Addresses a lot of key point. This video is a better alternative than taking somewhere and waiting and waiting!

don't know the part number off hand, if you spray penetrating oil or engine fogger inside the cylinder it may help

Great video. Thank you for sharing your steps to fix the mower. I have the exact same engine on my mower and now I know what to look for. Thank you again.

I have that same mower and that is not how my primer bulb works. You have to actually press the bulb all the way in and hold for one second. There is a little mechanism that is pushed back out with a spring when you release it. Did you really just prime that bulb as shown in the video, or did you find you had to do what I have to do? I recently replaced my bulb for the 3rd time (mower is 10 years old) and I am still having some issues and I think it maybe the spring itself. Just curious if you have run into that before.
