I’m so sorry, Lori. First of all. I will be praying for your son and you. I really wanted to say a few things as just a suggestions. Can you try to surround yourself with family or even a friend? You shouldn’t be alone all day long. Can you go to your daughters house and just hang out there so you’re not by yourself.? Secondly, besides pulling the weeds and cleaning, go for a walk do that often. oh, I understand how life could be so hard. Trust me. Can you try to find a RUclips that puts positive healing words in your ears so you’re not listening to your own head? I’m just throwing out suggestions and I know they can all help. I don’t have all the answers by any means but I do know some of these things help. And I send you a virtual giant hug and know that you could vent anytime and just tell yourself one day at a time.

Oh my dear Nigella, I am so heartbroken to see you in this pain. I am so sorry to hear about your son such a terrible shock for all of you. I'd be exactly the same if it was one of my girls. Our kids are everything to us no matter how old they are. It is a devastating diagnosis, but there is so much they can do these days, the treatments out there have moved on so much from the old days. It's one in two of us who will get cancer now but the treatments have moved on so much, they can work wonders now. I'm so so sorry to hear this and its absolutely normal to feel so overwhelmed with the pain of grief and to be absolutely exhausted. Such an awful shock it is like a bomb going off. Where I live in the UK I know of a lot of people who have had cancer in my neighbourhood and a lot of them have made a full recovery after their treatments in hospital. Even though he is going through Chemo he is worried about you. Hold onto him, feel his strength, give him strength. Me. I am a researcher. I would start researching everything you can do to help. New treatment, vitamins, etc. It will give you something important to do. Research and help him fight! It's ok to scream! This is the time you need to try and stay healthy and be there for whatever he needs, which will help you. You are never alone! Stay strong!

Hey Lorie! I'm heartbroken for you. Being a mother myself it is so very hard to see your children suffer and you can't stop the pain. Lorie I've been watching you ever since you sat down at your kitchen table to show us how to mix vitamin c into moisturizer and you said that your son told you to do this because for a woman your age you look so young. I don't write to people on RUclips often, maybe once but I needed to reach out to you from one mother to another. And from someone who has seen a lot of cancer in her life and cared for loved ones, I hope I can pass some of my experience on to you . I also know that nothing I can say can heal you or make you feel a better. I'm sorry for that. But remember God holds your pain and we as a community feel it too. Right now you need to think outside yourself. You need to think of what your son needs. I'm sure you are, but right now you need to be a soldier in his combat. You need to prepare food for him like lasagna and casserole dishes, ice cream because as you know chemo is very hard. You need to find his favorite foods and be the soldier mother that he needs right now. You need to research the type of cancer he has. Find out whether there are any articles in New England, medical journal or any doctor or any hospital that is specifically has fought this type of cancer what the recovery rate of that hospital for treatment . Also as one of his soldiers he needs his soldiers to fight for him. They always put on a brave face, but he needs you to fight for him. I know it's easier said than done because you probably feel like you're walking quicksand I can only imagine. I wish I could hug and tell you everything's going to be okay but I'm in the fight with you. You need to lose yourself in his recovery and how he is going to recover. You can't live in the other part of it because you do no service to him. As a mother I can only speak from my truth and from where I am. You need to be with him to ask the doctors the right questions after you do your research. You need to be his soldier in this war. He need you right now. You need to be there. You need to fight for him. You need to stand with him. You cannot let him see your fear. You do not want him to feel it's hopeless because it isn't he needs to know that everything else is being taken care of because it must weigh heavy on his mind. Take time to see life and relaxation through the little things your dogs nature. These are your solace right now, move dance clean the house, clean his house anything to keep focus. Talk to us.
