This game's a little janky, but a lot of fun, especially thanks to the voice acting and soundtrack. You can choose to play as either character, but I chose Gary for the playthrough as he had the funniest lines.
Animations are a little slower than I’d like and the blooms a little too strong, but it looks like this game has potential!
No more janky than that stupid game where you run around looking for keys.
If they made this into a movie, Margot Robbie should play Sharon, since Margot Robbie is Australian, and Sharon looks like a character played by Margot Robbie.

1:32 the bickering character switch is one of the most immersive, seamless game mechanics I have ever seen. A mechanic built right into the plot.

This got to me as well, true artistry at work, especially the way he maintains his normal walking animation while wielding a cricket bat with one hand 🔥
Not to mention that bitchin post-punk tune at the end.
If I had to give any feedback to the developers, it'd be killing off the spouse was a mistake because their dialogues with each other was by far the highlight of the video, and as far as horrors go, it's way more effective if you don't cut away to reveal the enemies of every single encounter. Resident Evil worked because you could hear a sound somewhere off the camera and you get jumped by something just out of sight.
Maybe only we Aussies would know that the Hawke Beer is named after deceased Prime Minister Bob Hawke. A nice touch. :)
I remember that for 'Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel', the devs noted that they had fun adding all of the australian humor that they were forced to cut back on in the main games, because the publishers feared that it would "alienate" wider audiences.
But, speaking as a burger-chugging American, I *love* this stuff. Y'all have the most absurdly silly names for everything. It's like your entire language was rewritten by Monty Python. And your sense of humor revolves entirely around being completely self-aware of that fact. Your very existence is peak comedy. Never change.

This game is like playing an Australian 80s horror film and I am HERE FOR IT. Love the occasional background noise from some insomniac Australian Magpie in place of the stock American Crow sounds, it's all so evocative and so good.
My only criticism is the lack of slip-slaps from his thongs.

Glorious! This was entertaining to watch. Especially that bat swing. "I can swing harder. But my manly strength might break the bat.' Also it is very concerning there is a box of ammo in the toilet. The censor box was kind of off putting but in a funny way.

That "horror protagonists don't know they're in a horror piece of media" observation is pretty astute. I've lost track of the amount of times I've watched a horror movie and thought "don't do in there you fool, you'll die". When in reality, why would they ever expect a psycho/monster to be lurking in a basement/log cabin/forest?
Horror protags are us except with a surgically removed self-preservation instinct. I always likened it to watching a small kid laughingly run into a wall of fire to spite you while you helplessly watch in horror.
Yeah, people in real life are often WAY dumber than horror protags, which is why the whole trend of mocking them is so funny to me.
The real horror during Covid was seeing all the zombies saying "Wear a mask! Wear a maaaaaaask!" When we all knew it did jack shit.
It was fun to laugh and flip them off.

There's being unintentionally bad and it being funny, and there's being so bad in the right ways that it's funny..
Then there's this garbage that doesn't understand any of it and tries way too hard. Bad voice acting can add to the charm, but not when the writing is so abysmal it isn't even funny or relevant. Wish people would try and go for something fresh rather than hopping on the hur dur ps1 trend.
