      @@Kinseydsp Yes, exactly..I like old cars to look like they did in this film, when they were new and came off the assembly line...not just a shell of an old car with absurd lowering, modern drivetrains and interiors, ridiculously large diameter wheels with rubber band tires...or that gawd-awful fad called "patina", or any other fad of the times...they look best original, and they are only original once..the survivors deserve that....

    Great footage of the 55 Chevrolets being assembled & in color ! I remember seeing the 55 Chevy's
    everywhere in the 60's. Back when America was great & had a real strong middle class when the workers
    benefited as much as the owners. When wealth was more evenly distributed & the dollar was worth something.
    When you could pay cash to buy the American Dream. A new car & house my dad paid cash when he bought
    a new 57 Chevy Bel Air straight from the factory. AMERICA WHAT HAPPENED ????

    • @58fins
      @58fins 3 года назад +6

      @@58fins You are right & it's sad to look back at how great it was 65 years ago. Hard to look ahead when America already peaked long ago. As a kid in the '60's i took the '55 Chevy's & my dad's '57 Chevy for granted thinking these cars would always be around. Suddenly they became dinosaurs....the ravages of father time.
      I worked in a new car store in 2015 I only saw one cash sale for 20k all the rest were financed. I financed a 2010 used car from the store so I know what it's like to be in debt.
      I can't recall seeing my dad pay with a credit card only cash, he said he only financed a new Chevrolet in 1951.I never saw that car but I saw my grandpa's used '51 Chevy financing was rare back then

    Well I'd say that was just a little does of good old propaganda. That was when u could believe what was coming from Washington, presidents could walk without falling, didn't fall asleep at a national or international summit and didn't talk like reverend Jim off Taxi

      Propaganda yes BUT, it was positive propaganda and there's nothing wrong with that.
      Contrast that to the actively corrosive sepsis within today's body-politic and the MSM's role in it. Add to that the heavy spencer ships of yytt to make any krit is scism against our minders almost impossible.

      Our wonderful President Donald Trump will go down as history's greatest president , the best the united states has ever had. President Donald Trump will be reelected in the year 2020 . Don jr or Ivanka Trump will be elected in the following election cycles. we will have Trump in the white house for the next 20 years, give or take.

      @@buckyflywoodie3905 Yeah no. The fact that an idiotic conman made it this far shows how desperate conservatives have become. Trump is a symptom of the "forgotten peoples'" deluded envisionment for the future. MAGA! Morons Are Governing America!

    They ought to rename this video "The killing car" after all the people who died due to it's then new untested design flaw, which saw no immediate end. It's okay though. Ford fixed the problem in their cars. Sadly they still toot the horn of this deadly awkward behemoth Chevy today, never knowing.
