The Hodor reveal is ine of the sickest moments of the entire series!!!
That was awful if you think about it😢
It felt like a tacked on cheesy afterthought for me when it aired. I know its a 50/50 split on how people feel about it. A lot loved it.
@@superkoopatrooper4879 it’s one thing to willingly give your life to save others but there’s a grey area here. How much choice did Hodor really have?
one of the sickest moment in the history of television, actually.
Hodor got the best death in the show. Incredibly well written. Plus, everyone loved him.
Not sure being torn to pieces is a good death to be honest.
@@dsfddsgh not best as in least painful but as in most well written.
The Door is the only episode of a show that has ever made me cry. It is so beautifully written.
To clarify, the Children were at war with the First Men not the Andals. They joined forces with the First Men to fight the White Walkers. Basically their own weapons turned against them. Brandon the Builder built the Wall with the help of the Children and the giants.
The Andals invaded later.
Mrs October just casually and randomly dropping "galavanting" later in the video after that whole Euron/Theon galavanting debacle 😂
I noticed that too aaahaha 😂
i liked the word lol it stuck with me
You're maniacal giggling during the Euron kingsmoot scene killed me lmao
I think that's the main difference between the arly seasons and the late seasons: The early seasons were only funny when they were supposed to be, and were serious when they were supposed to be. Later on, sometimes the supposedly serious scenes were just funny, and the supposedly funny scenes weren't funny.
Every time I watch throught this show, I realise more and more that it got to a point where you were less and less sure whether you were supposed to be laughing or taking it dead seriously.
BRO SAME 😂
I loved it. Euron is just corny in both the show and book, so I don't blame the show.
@@kennyhudson9201 Wild take but sure.
The Hodor reveal broke everyone who was invested in this for a while. Book readers since 96, the gentle giant on screen since episode 4 of the series. I remember letting the credits roll and just staring at a black screen in silence for like the next 15 minutes
Laugh all you want at Euron, he is not the same character from the books who is basically a world ending threat and not dick jokes...
Ni doubt they do euron so dirty in the show.... I hope the Octobers at least end up listening to the audio books because as much as this show did a wonderful job they left out so many interesting and crazy things from the books
can’t blame them for laughing with this series depiction
He's just as corny and out of nowhere in the books. I don't get this.
@@kennyhudson9201 Balon dies and Asha spots Euron's ship in the harbour so people know he is around before he shows up, his entrance is much more badass too, I don't know what you don't get
@@karolswieboda1781 I didn't see it as badass. It was cheesy. But I accept to each their own.
He's still out of nowhere. How many books and pages passed before he mattered?
A lot of people say Game of Thrones peaked at season 4 but this season has some of my favourite moments by far. The next few episodes are incredible
It's my favorite season so never understood the hate but honestly the book readers are the one's who complain about it so I'm glad I never read them
Season 6 is my favorite. Epic episodes.
it's peak at 4 but stays high till 6... we don't talk much about after
@@DukeJimbob I read the novels starting in 1999, and I agree with you. I don't get other book readers. I think most just are mad that the best scene in the entire series happened on the show, and not in the books. Also, most just don't want an ending so they are mad anytime the show gives resolution to any plots. It's weird.
My favorite episode and one of my favorite characters, poor Hodor his only porpoise in life was to protect Bran and to hold the door ❤
I’ve yet to find my porpoise in life. Hopefully I’ll find it before I’m at deaths door
@@NiKiMa023 I'm still trying to find mine so in the meantime I'm ''holding the door,,👍
That scene with Hodor was gut-wrenching,but,he fulfilled his purpose in life. I teared up when I first saw this scene.
But he had a whale of a role to play and he completed his mission.
@@NiKiMa023 You dolphinately will.
I saw “ the door” when it originally aired. I still cry every time I see it… Even on reaction videos! Right there with you.
“What is dead may never die” referencing coming back from a drowning is fire. But without cpr is INSANE😅
Aww shit mrs October gonna lose her shit on this one❤
The Drowned God's Priest at Iron Island is Theon & Yara's Uncle too. He's Aeron Greyjoy, Younger brother of Balon and Euron.
It's ok to laugh at show Euron. Book Euron is much more intimidating.
She be crying her ass off and bro just be like "wow, SO GUYS WHAT DO YOU THINK..?" 😂😂😂
Yeah, kind of obnoxious tbh
Mr. No Emotions...(don't show emotions, that's gay...)
"She be?"
"and bro just be like"
Are you a native english speaker? If so, please go back to the 4th grade.
An alternate viewing of things is that Arya is the villain here. She came to the Faceless Men begging for help and offering to join. They take her in and teach her everything. And she systematically ignores every rule, repeatedly, refuses to do what's asked of her in return, and effectively sabotages every mission she's ever sent on.
It's always a bit impressive how easily right and wrong can be defined just by who we get told the Hero is, no matter what the motives or actions of any of the characters are. They're Right, 'cuz they're the Hero. Whoever's opposing them (or even not _opposing_, just not actively spending every waking moment _helping_) is Obviously Wrong And Evil. It's kinda wild when you think of it.
The Faceless Men would be hard to justify even if they were the main characters, considering that they are available to the highest (or at least first) bidder despite all their high-flown religious sophistry. They are just glorified hit men. Not that you can't follow a hit man's story, but I don't think they'd automatically be the hero because of that. I'm not saying you don't have a point about point of view. There are definitely things in everyone's story in this show (or almost everyone) that makes them a mix of things. A lot of the time they are that even before we get to the opposite POV, though.
I agree. Magneto was right.
The Faceless Men along with Mellisandre's Smoke Babies are too OP. A half dozen of them would change everything. I think GRRM realized this and so sought to nerf them.
@@gunkulator1 I agree, nothing Martin writes matters, because he will just change it despite all the foreshadowing and set up. He should deal with what he wrote instead of changing it and making all the setup meaningless. But that's too much to expect from a soap opera writer.
@@gunkulator1 You gotta have some brakes when you're an author.
they butchered euron in the show, you're right to laugh at him, unfortunately his character doesnt get much better :-(
It’s a shame because Crow’s Eye is one of the best characters in the books.
@@TheAbominableDrFaustus What so good about him? He's a pirate king and nothing more. He may or may not possess a Macguffin but that doesn't make him interesting.
@@gunkulator1 Euron in the books is one of the most interesting characters in ASOIAF, you might have a different opinion but a character doesn't always have to be grey to be appealing.
@@kanadgautam4062 So then what's interesting about him? He's a pirate who does a bunch of pirate things that so far are only tangentially related to everything else in the books. I guess if you think pirates are cool that's your thing but really he's little more than a big thug with a boat.
You guys stay spoiling the show lol
The Blackfish is so badass. Love him.
Cersei is to blame for that whole mess in kings landings
Mrs October still knowing whats up way before the Mister. Love it.
it's not just you, we also found the euron scenes a bit weird :D
The tragedy behind Hodor's story is finally revealed. When this episode first aired, there was a large amount of different "Hodor" doorstops being sold.
In the books Euron is a menace for real. Scary dude. He's a lot less imposing.
They actually drown themselves in the books. Then revive w CPR "what is dead may never die" is what that means.
“by we, i mean me” 🥹☺️
Just when I thought I had no tears left for this show…, damn Hodor reveal 😢
Hold The Door was sooo soo emotional! Dont worry I was a bit confused by the episode as well. I needed to watch a video explaining what happened lol.
Hodor episode 6x5. everyone was talking about it for a week and more. the big mystery of what happen to him. insane. Miss October always with the reaction that we expect and Mr. October dead inside xD
Euron's burn about galivanting was so savage!
I felt and feel the same way about Euron on both the show and the books. He comes out of nowhere and it's hard to care about any of it.
It's a narrative mistake to be adding major characters at this point in the series. What's worse is there even more of them in the books and their plots are the worst kind of soap operaish stuff.
@@gunkulator1 It's refreshing to meet another person not brainwashed by Martin. The story has been nothing but meaningless meandering and plot wheel spinning since the end of Storm.
I know, it is true that some storylines like the Greyjoy one and the one from Dorne (mostly this one) are more interesting in the books, however, I think that as well, just after three long books which where adapted to 4 seasons of the show, GRRM introduces so many more storylines, that for me made the last two books less enjoyable than the previous ones....
He could at least, instead of introducing plenty characters and plots, he could have given characters we already knew a POV, like he did with Cersei and Brianne, for example.
You guys are right. Littlefinger is trying to divide Jon and Sansa because Littlefinger knows Jon would whoop his ass! Jon is just like Ned, he has no time for his bullshit!
LF giving Sansa to the Boltons did not work out how he hoped. He made a pact with Roose and now he's stuck with Ramsey instead. He was not aware of what a sadist Ramsey was or he would not have made the deal. Roose kept his degenerate son a secret from everyone. The Starks were their closest neighbors and neither they nor Theon knew about him.
trust me. most of us laugh at the character Euron... for many reasons
When littlenfinger gave Sansa to the Bolton's, Stannis was still alive and a variable. He needed that to conclude first.
The reveal of the effect Bran caused by warging from the past to Hodor in the future, causing Hodor to witness his own future death, and the reality that that Trauma caused Hodor to become non communicative other than the mispronounced "hold the door" was one of the most poignantly tragic things I ever saw.
Tremendous reveal and one of the most emotionally sad deaths in the show imo.
Euron's crown. Not even a Wildling would envy the design
Just in case you didn't notice, the guy in the play playing Tywin is Richard Grant who you recently saw in Loki as the older classic Loki with the big horns.
If you recall in the second or third episode there's a scene with Bran and Hodor where Bran learns that Hodor could talk and was a normal boy and ask him what happened to which Hodor replies with a sarcastic "Hodor" implying you did this to me. He always knew how he would die.
Solid call out on the patterns from season 1, much
They also said in history and lore people have cut off limbs just to find the greyscale pop up on the other
Kristian is a buddy of mine and I told him that his acting broke me and he just laughed at me 😂😂
He’s also a fantastic DJ if you haven’t heard his stuff
Hodor's sacrifice always gets to me.
And yet it did not get them... that's concerning
More like Bran's sacrifice of Hodor than Hodor's sacrifice. Which makes me tear up even more
7:03 Nice catch. Dothraki breads their hair after each victory.
Ghost is Jon's wolf. That was Bran's wolf Summer.😊
Nice introduction scene for kinvara. I can'"t wait to see kinvara and the red priest playing a growing part in supporting Dany .
Im glad you’re doing good but since you’re in season 7 on patreon, comments are getting pointless
For Octobers lore, I think that may have been the first on-screen kiss. Y'all are so adorable ❤
lol was it? maybe we just had alot on patreon!
@@TheOctobersReact LOL I see, so what you're saying is the kissing videos are premium content available on Patreon only 🤣🤣 Love it!
Euron: “Build me 1,000 ships!”
Everyone Else: “F¥€k, why didn’t we think of that?”
The idea that the "ink is dry" is the old three-eyed raven trying to keep Bran from messing with it since the implications can be huge if you aren't extremely careful. But we've seen twice now that Bran can in fact affect those he's encountering in the past (young Ned hearing him call out is the other).
In this particular situation, Bran is in the past when he's told to listen to his friend. Rather than coming back to the present to warg into Hodor, he wargs into past Hodor. Since it's the same mind, it works. But, Bran serves as a conduit between past and present Hodor.
The experience of having your mind connected directly to some future version of yourself is traumatic and adding you witnessing your own death on top of that, even moreso. This is why Hodor's brain fries and he starts saying "Hodor." all the time.
"That came out of nowhere" will become a common sentiment for the rest of the series.
Gonna miss Hodor. He had some of the best lines in the whole show.
Like that time they were in the windmill and he got scared and said "Hodor."
Or when they were at the abandoned Nightfort and he looked down a well and yelled "HODOR!"
Such a good character.
RIP Wylis.
Not all heroes wear capes. Real men hold the door. Sad to see the end of Summer. Winter is truly coming...
It's not the TV settings.....there are several upcoming episodes that are practically filmed in the dark. It was a choice by the directors - some like it, some hate it. Just be aware
It never gets easier 😭 they used the Stark theme as a send off for hodor. The actor is also a DJ that goes by yhe same name, HODOR!
Your intros are so funny and cute ❤
Those Danny speaches in Valerian or Dothraki, gets me..every..single..time
We're completely with you on the Euron stuff. He's so much better written in the books.
The really tragic thing is that Brandon made Hodor experience his own death. He linked Hodor to his past self whilst he was dying. That's what sent him mad, he lived through his own death at the hands of ice zombies.
I don't watch reaction videos. Randomly found you both watching Game of Thrones and decided to rewatch it with you. Thank you for doing what you do. I truly hope you are happy by the end. Don't listen to season 8 haters. It does not deserve the hate and misunderstanding it gets. Season 8 is great and has 2 of the best episodes of any show ever. Everyone ends up where they should be if you paid attention.
Agreed. People are just mad that it ended, and it didn't end the way they speculated. It was totally fine and fun to watch. Tell me Jenny of Oldstones didn't give you chills and I question your humanity.
I paid attention and I completely disagree, although I do think it's highly likely a lot of people hate Season 8 for the wrong reasons. Still I think it's fine for people to engage and decide for themselves, even if I wouldn't personally recommend Season 8 to anybody. If some enjoy it, good for them.
Brienne talking smack on Davos and Melisandre like she doesn't jump from leader to leader like it's nothing too. LOL>
Hey, hope this finds u well. Ur reaction to Euron was pretty funny, lol. Hodor's story and evertyime we lose a wolf is so heartbreaking. Dont mess with Gilly's man...I love Gilly, Sam and baby Sam sweetest family in the 7 Kingdoms. Arya is a boss has always went her own way. Great discussion, would love to say so much, but cant give no spoilers, lol.🤫 Thanx so much, till next time, Peace
Yes alot of predictions are wrong, you can't assume what will happen and I don't think Arya is struggling with morals , she is a badass out to avenge her Family 😮
@@anita3018 Agree, She is def a boss, and not struggling with her morals. Arya is my sec fav character. Shes always been strong willed, on her own path. Shes def 1000% for family but will never just do whatever family, friends, authority tell her to do. Id mention a couple thing but shhhh, (whispering) cant say yet, lol. Peace
YOU'RE NOT WRONG FOR LAUGHING!! 😂🤣😂It comes out of nowhere and this scene plays out way better and much more convincing in the books. Sorry if someone already said it. I was laughing right along with y'all 🤣😂
Not all heroes wear capes some just hold the door
amen
I recommend getting your own pair of headphones for the rest of the show. There is some music made by the gods themselves.
28:24 such a haunting but meaningful purpose… I cried so hard… hell I’m crying again RIP Hodor ❤😢😢
What strain, y’all? Cuz y’all are clearly high. Lol. I respect it.
Honestly you’re not wrong for laughing during eurons scenes. The show didn’t do his character justice at all
Just to be clear there is no position of ‘The Three Eyed Raven’. The Weirwood network possesses Green-seer’s (in this case the characters name is Bryndon Rivers) in order to manipulate events. It used Bryndon to send visions to another Green-seer- Bran and probably Rickon too. For whatever reason Bryndon appeared as a Raven with three eyes, to another character he could have appeared as something different. The Green-seer’s who preceded him also would have appeared as different creatures
For the people who know what book Euron is on, I don't think anyone is upset that you laughed at the show version. The mutilation of that character is one of the shows biggest missteps.
In the books, Euron is actually terrifying. He's almost spoken of like an eldritch horror or a warlock. He's one of the most intelligent, cruel, and ambitious characters still in play. He's unironically a bigger threat than Daenerys. He's got a valyrian steel suit of armor and a horn that'll supposedly allow him to take control of dragons. If the show had put as much effort and buildup into his character as they did with the earlier villains.. he would've been one of the best antagonists in television history.
@TheOctobersReact I’m sure you remember but just incase you forgot…Sam’s father is the one who exiled him to send him to the wall to “become a man”. That he would hunt him down chasing after him and if he caught up with Sam he would kill him. So that caused a lot of tension between Sam and his Father as well as his Brother (who was happy and eager to exile and hunt his brother at least in the show) plus Gilly being a wildling didn’t help.
The way I see it: Bran was inside Hodors mind while being stuck in the past... Therefore Meeras words trickled back in time and consumed Hodor.... and basically stripped him of his humanity so he could serve the singular purpose of saving Bran in the future.
Bran have been the ravens in key moments throught the show, like when ned got beheaded and when sam killed a WW. Jojen told bran the raven is him.
In their defense, euron did come in out of nowhere. I’ve watched this series dozens of times and he’s mentioned maybe 4 times and he just comes in out of nowhere and kills the king, then pops back up and is king. I’ve always thought it was strange too.
You’re absolutely right about euron Greyjoy. They botched that from the jump. Not menacing at all like he should be.
The lead actor/director also played old man aka "Classic Loki".
Did you guys notice the guy who plays Robert and Tywin in the theater troupe is the guy that played Classic Loki in loki S1E5?
Don't apologize, there was no intense seriousness in that Euron scene. Felt the same way when I first watched it years ago. Read the books after and realized how terribly the show introduced Euron compared to how much people feared him in the books.
When this originally aired the monday at work after my coworker wrote HODOR on a 4x4 block we always used to hold the door open 😂
The Hodor purpose was a tear jerker for real
"Is that tyrion"? lol. Nah, that's Ser Gregor, that is! :P
Diana Rigg who plays Lady Oleana -when she was younger was one of the sexiest women alive. She was in a British TV series called The Avengers it made her a star .
Olenna
The purpose of the Euron crowning is to show the weakness of the iron born. They stand for nothing. They are easily swayed, just like Theon was at winterfell.
we’re all on yalls side when it comes to laughing at euron
Willis knew his life mission
Euron in the books…is built up with whispers and stories…before he makes his appearance…and in the books at least he aint no joke….dudes been everywhere knows things …he is a serious threat
Did you guys catch that the guy yelling "burn them all!" was the mad king? And that we see the moment when Jaime killed him.
It's okay Mrs.! I cried too for Hodor. :(
Things look dark I know. But I can't wait for you all to see the conclusion of the season! It gets even more wild
Little fun fact: The actor that played the actor playing Tywin in the play, also played 'Classic Loki' in Loki S1.
omg it is!
Richard E. Grant.
There are more Throne actors to come on Loki. Well, at least one more. Thrones actors are all over the MCU.
@@kennyhudson9201 Indeed :). And yes, I know who you mean 🟧
Hodor's story is one the most heartbreaking in the series. From Wilis repeating hold the door to it becoming "Hodor" he knew his entire life after that happening.
I have to say, Euron does look like a heavyset version of Theon. Book character is much better, but not the fault of the actor.
I highly recommend the audio books voiced by Roy Dotrice! It is an absolute pleasure to listen to. His voices are the best.
The fact that we’ve been introduced to a character named, Dickon 😂, still cracks me up every time I hear his name said 😂😂
The hold the door episode is just a glimpse of the suffering you're about to endure...
Justice for Hodor!!!😢😢
"Feels great to be past the books. Anything could happen!"
10 minutes later: *laughing at fake Euron*
Mace would have shined with the Mummers. Great Shakespearean voice and manner. Blatant overacting that would have excelled on stage. Arya's 2nd chance took her to a play that has everything to do with her father's fate. This was no coincidence. Arya finding empathy for Cersei? Arya finding her true self. Love Arya's reflection in the mirror. Wonderful symbolism.
I haven't gotten that far in the video yet to see if it clicks for you but the children of the forest created the white walkers to fight the first men. But they went out of control and threatened both parties so they teamed up to fight them. The first men ended up following the same gods as the children and that is why so many people in the North worship the old gods. Its also why things like warging and green sight are really only seen in northerners which were powers that the children of the forest had
I have hated Bran and Meera since Hodor's death. I could never get over it.
I reacted the exact same way to Euron Greyjoy. 😂
Yeah, I'm gonna need more episodes asap please
