This is absolutely spectacular. The storytelling and execution are wonderful, and how can I not love his little face? My heart hurts at the idea of this poor darling hodge-podging himself together, creaking through a world empty of the people who created him but that is slowly refilling with life. It reminds me of both the manga Blame! and the graphic novel Boilerplate: History's Mechanical Marvel. See also Love, Death, and Robots episode Three Robots. What happens when our mechanical creations outgrow us? When we leave them behind to fend for themselves? Will they mourn us? Do we deserve to be mourned? This little robot says yes, and that is so achingly beautiful.
I'm glad you liked it! I really love the storytelling process and want to try incorporating that more into future sculptures. Thanks for the book recommendations!
@@wathencreations You're very welcome, but thank YOU for this awesome lil guy and his epic, if tragic, backstory. I really hope you get your hands on Boilerplate, it's one of my favorite alternate history reads.
I love this little guy. I wish I could put him on my bookshelf.
This is what I come to Wathen Creations for...the good vibes. Love your designs! They're always so creative and detailed
Thank you so much! That means so much to hear!
This lil dude's lore is so so carefully imagined. I love the tenderness you added to the machine.
Lovely build and great video! Keep it up bud. What a gem the algorithm brought me today.
