Thank you for this, I am 26 and currently struggling with androgenetic alopecia. I have been dealing with hair loss for 10 years and it has been an emotional rollercoaster of a journey. Videos like yours help me know that I'm not alone and that is very comforting.
hair loss really is such a journey! So many ups and downs. But I'm so glad you found us, it's crazy how much your perspective changes when you find you're not alone in this ❤️
I am going through the same issue. My confidence has hit rock bottom.. my balding scalp is constantly at the back of my mind. And i am only 27...so can't help wondering how it's going to be for the rest of my life 😭 Thanks for sharing your journey ❤️
Same gurl, having trouble going out some days because I don't feel like myself anymore. I know I will have to shave it at some point but I'm just so not there in terms of accepting my condition. I have dermatite seboreica which makes the scalp produce dandruffs constantly so I hate to shower it cause it's so depressing going out of the shower with still dandruffs all over + hairfalling. We have to come to terms with it and try to redefine what beauty is in our eyes, I wish you well on this journey - fellow 27 yo
@@justicephoenix8094 wow I was just about to comment that. I'm Indian too. It's also really difficult for girls especially. And I don't see any girls in our country with this condition. For many years I felt like I'm alone who is bald in India (a girl)..But I'm finding Indian girls on such channels. And on Instagram. It's relieving to connect with you all.
I was diagnosed last year when I was 18 (but had it since 16 ) looked for videos in RUclips then, I didnt find anything in english or spanish, I felt so alone because everyone had a comunity but not me. Now I watch this posted this year, and a few videos more and feel a little bit better, I know there is not a cure for this, but know that I'm not alone, thank you for that. Love to you
I related to this SOOOO much !! Especially when you talked about hair falling on your arms & breaking down about your hair loss 😩😩 I’m currently at the beginning of my hair loss fiasco, & it’s been devastating to say the least.. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, but it’s comforting to know I’m not alone .. Love from America 🇺🇸 Xx
I’m right here with you. Since March my hair has shed around 50% every day I wake up anxious knowing that I’ll end the day with less hair than the the day before. The relentless shedding is soul destroying. My mind is burdened by constant focus on the telegen effluvium. Every minute feels like I’m battling to cover the reality of how bare my scalp has become. My hair was never thick, it’s naturally fair and thin but I always had a healthy full amount. My ponytail or braid was always robust. Now if I braid my hair it’s literally less than half of what it was. It’s incredibly confronting to feel the pity of friends and family when they become aware. The energy is almost palpable, as though their observation is an entity in itself when they see for themselves how much of my hair has been lost. I’ve had to shorten the length from mid back to shoulder length but still it’s not enough to create an appearance of volume. The cold air cuts a chill through the bare scalp where my hair used to grow. The new scalp sensations just exasperate the bleakness of the situation. It’s impossible to think in another direction when I’m physically aware of the exposure. I just want off this sickening ride. I need the shed to end even if it’s temporary. The emotional contention has been unwavering and I’m desperate for reprieve. I didn’t realise how much my hair played a role in my ability to function confidently in day to day life. It’s a big part in perceiving how to identify myself, how I saw myself within any given environment. It’s certainly for me a traumatic experience. My mother began chemotherapy for breast cancer 3days ago and my mother in law had a brain tumour biopsy the same day. I’m not so deluded to not understand my situation in comparison with theirs, it’s just hard to wake up one day having to confront this level of humility. Thank God for the shared insights and encouragement of those already navigating their way through the processes of circumstance. ❤️🙏🏻❤️🩹🙏🏻❤️
Mine started at age 16... it sucks. Rogain and finasteride helped for a while... but you never really win this battle. Best you can do is slow it down. Best of luck to all of us.
Did the rogain make you’re hair fall out at first when taking it. I just got diagnosed and I’m 17 and it’s gotten very bad over the past 2 months with my hairline and I don’t wanna make it worse.
this. i mean they can change a man into a woman and vice versa with all the intricacies of genital surgery...and still nothing for female hair loss -__-
Because it is very profitable business guys, if you think about it me personally I have spent thousands for the past 8 years to buy, medicines, visit doctors, do tests and so on and I will continue just to be able to maintain my hairloss at its "best" possible to me. This is the sad truth.
When I tell you I cried watching this video😭! I recognized myself in this story as probably hundreds other women did! I am excited to start the process of purchasing my first topper and hopefully get my confidence back! Love from the US❤️
My hair was super thin in my childhood, and when i turned 19 i started losing my hair too, now i'm 23 and i tried so many hair products and feel like i really spent so much money and effort. That's really exhausting and devastatin. Thank you for sharing this.
I feel the same way. I completely swiped out my shampoo and conditioners. Constant Jamaican Castro oil and vitamins and still hair is falling out drastically

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I am in my mid 40ies and started losing my hair when I was 42. Kept being told 'it's your age' and to take vitamins for hair so that's what I did. The pandemic started then as well so I put it down to stress. About 8 months ago I suddenly noticed how much hair I had lost and I could see my scalp. Went to a doctor in panic, they did all tests and they came back fine. I asked to be referred to the dermatologist who after looking at my scalp for less than a minute said 'you may have female baldness' so suggested I use minoxidil and take antudepressants (I suffer from anxiety due this). I decided to go to trichologist before I used or took anything, thry said that I don't have female baldness but telogen effluvium. They did some blood tests that showed that my ferritin was low. They put me on a high dose of iron and said most of my hair should grow back. Unfortunately I have got this gut feeling that it is androgenetic alopecia as most of my terminal hair is replaced with vellus hair plus my normally minor acne has been quite bad too. No family history of hair loss in women but my dad lost his hair fairly young and so did my brothers (so I may have that lovely gene too). Despite taking iron, using special shampoos my hair loss has not slowed down. I hate looking at myself in a mirror and I cry my eyes out every day. I just know I have it. I cannot imagine living without my lovely hair and study everyones hair with jelousy. Why me? :-(

Hello, I just want to write a few words.. My name is Natalia, Im 23 years old and Im from Poland. I used to have a thick hair as my whole family. No one has "a hair problem", even my grandparents at the age of 80-85 have thick hair, which makes me more uncomfortable.. My health was really good, i didnt have any health problems till i turned 21. Long story short - I was diagnosed with PCOS. My pcos symptoms were hirsutism and no period. I noticed that something is wrong with my hair in July 2019. I didnt visually notice it, I just felt while touching it on my scalp that something is wrong, that i have less hair.. I went to dermatologist , she said everything is fine, she doesnt see any androgenic alopecia symptoms. Now couple months later I was diagnosed with AGA, my hair is not my hair anymore.. I have a huge problem with my cofidence. Once, when i was at the University I made ponytail, cause my hair was disturbing me while I was writing, and I noticed a weird look from my teacher and my friend.. I went to the toilet and I saw that I made ponytail so badly, that my bald parts were easy to be seen.. In Poland we have 2 companys that make toppers and wigs. Both of them are far away from the city I live in. But I had this Chance to go to one of them, I tried a topper, looked amazing but the price was 11 000 złotych and that is nearly 3 000 american dolars.. Im a student, im graduating this year, the prices in poland are so high and getting higher and higher, its so frustrating, cause i wanted to look beatufil on my graduating day, so special day for me.. And im not sure if i will have any hair till June, when im graduating. My andrigenic alopecia is so fast, and my hopes are so low.. You look amazing in this topper, i totally love it! My hair is dark blond but warm blond. I cry everyday , i cant get with the fact that im loosing my hair forever.. Its just not fair..
Hi Natalia thank you so much for writing your story. We actually are an online topper/wig company and our toppers are much cheaper than $3000USD! You can get in touch with us through here or check out our website lustahair.com we have many customers in Poland xx
I went through the whole comment and i can relate i feel u girl I've been there, i started losing hair from the age of 16 didn't know what was wrong till got married by 25 years i was diagnosed with pcos you can imagine how much i lost through the years, long story short i got my hair baaack and here is what i did exactly. Eliminate sugar/carbs/wheat from your diet and diary More of leafygreens and organic oily fish and organic meat Exercises to help your blood circulation Detox your body with sauna and dry brushing Test your zink/B complex/biotin/ silica, omega 3 levels and increase your intake with food that contain this elements I do drink stinging nettle as tea or as soup, spearmint tea also is good Topically Get rid of all harsh brushes use instead wooden with big teeth one Massage your scalp very often to increase your blood flow, preferably after using rosehip/argan/jojoba(carrier oil) with peppermint, rosemarry, cedarwood, lavender essential oils Skip to gentl and more natural shampoo dont wash much your hair I use henna once a week to calm and disinfect my scalp make it as healthy as possible DON'T YOURSELF the number one enemy Hope that is gonna help you give a try believe you will get all your hair back with a bonus of healthy and strong body and personality
@@activedose1967 what to say can't really give you a very specific answer as i said i used a combination of all above but i noticed an increase rate of grow after 3 to 4 month after introducing essential oils and much healthier scalp (no falkes or itching but very fresh tingling sensation) but again it could be anything else is kicking off.good luck with ur journey

I'm 25 and i also had very very thick hair and i loved my hair and was so confident. I have a pretty face so i was absolutely devastated knowing my beauty was going. I lost most of my hair over my 20s. Very traumatic and made me depressed. Went on minoxidil and aldactone and still am on it. Helped to slow down hair loss but hair strands thinned out or 'miniaturised'. Dont know what will happen when i want to get pregnant. I will probably rely on wigs to cope with anxiety later. But i agree this experience has helped me become selfless and detach myself from physical beauty.
Hey its just hair. It's not a big deal. By any means shave your head and wear wigs to frame your face nicely. I am a straight guy and I honestly would not care if the hair is real or not. Most of all relax.
Thanks for your input, Dan. I understand the idea that 'it is just hair' but at the same time, unless you have gone through it yourself it is very hard to understand the confidence blow it can have. Hair is a big part of someone's identity. Yes, there are amazing solutions such as wigs and toppers but it is also ok to grieve for something you have lost ❤️ But I honestly appreciate that you would not be phased by it. We need more people like you!
I experienced this condition when I was 18 now I’m 23 i have decided in order to shave all my hair because it’s getting thinner everyday I’m really suffering from this condition as all my mother’s family such as my mom , grandmother, all my aunts and also my sister have experienced genetic hair losing sorry I cannot stand this condition anymore I want to use topper

what helped to lose weight was a protein diet, a carnivore. You can make a low carb rich in protein. I've tried everything, physical activity, low calorie diet, low fat, paleo, low carb. Protein diet improved hormonal status, decreased insulin and androgen levels. my hair is growing a lot and bald areas are better
Back in October I got a rash on my leg that was spreading fast and becoming painful. It caused my foot to swell and there was little to no circulation from that leg to my heart. After various trips to the ER and many antibiotics after I was sent to see a dermatologist. On my 3rd appointment with my dermatologist he asked to get a 2nd biopsy done. This one would be much bigger, the size of a lip and deeper. I got the biopsy done and a week later during wound check the derm. who performed the biopsy had brought up my hair thinning to my dermatologist. It broke me inside despite trying to keep a straight face. My dermatologist was able to read the room and brushed him off mentioning that they had bigger issues to tackle; my leg. Ever since I was 22 I realized my hair was thin but my scalp wasn't as visible as it is now at age 29. Honestly I have put my hair loss/ thinning problem in the back burner ...I don't think I've been able to accept the fact that I have hair loss even though I hate taking pictures because all I see is my scalp. My dermatologist was so cool in my eyes because he appeared to stand up for me. He actually did the same thing again when the head dermatologist brought up my hair issue when he was brought in to see how my biopsy was healing. At that point I had mentioned to them that at the moment my hair loss wasn't my priority. I felt like everyone else but my dermatologist saw my scalp and hair loss only and not my skin issue. It really hurt because it felt like they were putting my hair issue into the spotlight even when I wasn't worried about it. Despite feeling this way I am so thankful to my dermatologist. He went out of his way to find the cause to my skin issue even after there was no known cause for it. He sent my biopsy to Mayo Clinic and ran many tests. He even discovered I have latent tb, and is following up with my pulmonologist regarding my treatment. I felt in good hands up until my last two appointments with him. He has talked to me about how I have androgenic alopecia and should highly consider spironolactone. I have been on so many pills now and will be on more for latent tb treatment so starting another treatment felt mentally exhausting. I was also beginning to feel cornered again into trying to face hair loss when I didn't even bring it up to them regarding wanting to treat it. It hurt my spirit 💔 especially cause I was already so down in the dumps emotionally. I was not able to work cause I work as a cashier and have to stand for 9+ hours. With a swollen foot and pain I wasn't able to even walk down the block before feeling terrible. Now I was stuck at home, feeling the most disconnected from everyone. I had so much time to think back on the times customers would stare at my scalp or when teens would come and make stupid comments amongst themselves that I was young and going bald. Just yesterday I came to the realization that I feel like I'm being guilt tripped into getting treatment for my hair loss. Mostly because in my last two appointments my dermatologist has wanted me to decide on what treatment to start for my androgenic alopecia. After saying I'd get back to him regarding spironolactone, he offered starting minoxidil as an alternative. He also mentioned starting a fungal shampoo which some users have noticed helped with hair growth. But I noticed each time I would ask questions regarding the treatment and what will happen after getting off the spironolactone or minoxidil he said "but you don't have to do it if you don't want to." It's mind boggling cause I never literally said "hey can we tackle my hair loss next doc?" Not once. I also felt like my dermatologist was not so into wanting to treat my hair loss??? The reason being is that while he went out of his way to help with my leg rash and tb, he never once inspected my scalp. He literally just explained to me what androgenic alopecia is and that I have it and he are your options basically. Not him or any of those dermatologists asked me about how I wash or treat my hair, what products I use. If my scalp is oily or dry if I have dandruff or dermatitis. So I felt like they were just throwing me a prescription and sending me on my merry way. Personally I think I'm going to take a break from the dermatologist. I have an appointment in January 2023 to see how my biopsy wound is going and to decide on hair loss treatment. But I feel like I need to work on my mental health before I try tackling my hair loss problem. If it is androgenic alopecia like he says then I also have to come to terms with my mental and emotional state first before tackling that as well. Before the leg rash and the TB I was falling into depression because of the same everyday routine. It was so hard waking up to go to work. My insomnia was so bad I hardly slept 3 hours. By the time I was waking up I was already thinking of ways to get out of having to go to work and it caused so much anxiety. Upon reading other comments in this community and others on yt I've realized that it will be a struggle to tackle hair loss and I'm so happy to know I'm not alone. Still it's very scary thinking that it may cause more mental stress and I don't know if I will be able to handle it. I hope that I am able to become stronger to maybe be able to go see a dermatologist regarding my hair loss in the near future. Maybe I'll garner enough strength to be able to tell my dermatologist why I am unable to come to a decision regarding androgenic alopecia treatment. Maybe I'll be able to tell him that I don't want any of them to just send me off with a prescription and instead treat me like an actual patient who has all these other stuff going on and needs to see more from them.
I am 23 and have diagnosed with androgenic alopecia recently and i have been on treatment of minodixil and finasterode hair spray soln and aldactone tablets that reduces dht level conversion to control hair loss from last 3 months. Today i went again for doc visit he suggested us PRP treatment and we did that. I hope that bring result 💯. Why their is no treatment for APA? science has evolved so much and no treatment for APA. Anyways loved your video❤💯 Love from India.
Hi Dhara, how are you doing. Could you tell me what test was conducted to conclude that you have androgenic alopecia? I am also suffering from hair loss, but my dermatologist just gave me minoxidil without conducting any test except for visual observation. Thanks in advance! Cheers!
I have the same issue. Can you share your personal information with me so we can connect on this? do the tablets helping you with hair fall? any improvement after PRP treatment? my email is only.shruti87@gmail.com plz reply on that!
My hair line also widening. Also my scalp is hurtful. I can’t do any styling.. even can’t pin my hair... at the end my hair just oozes out.. and I close my eyes.. coz I know how much is coming out... I tried almost everything.. people said try rice water. Did tat too... rice water didn help with hair fall but after using it due to its starch content my hair got little stiff and bouncy.. I know it’s temporary but to hide wat u want to hide... we have to use temporary measures.. not to satisfy others... but to lie ur self sometimes that all is well. 🙃
Hey, have you tried the whole mechanical transduction thing? From Perfect hair health I mean. I just started with it and I like the pragmatic approach. Makes you feel way less depressed at the very least.
I wish we could normalise hair thinning. Maybe these women with thick, full hair are the anomaly and we are the the normal ones?😂 It definitely needs to be talked about more, thank you for sharing.
@@s.l1736 😂 you never know! I have started looking at other people's hair when I'm out and about, it does seem that alot of women have thinning hair as they age. I think its just that we are bombarded with unrealistic standards where people have thick hair, whereas in real life I'm seeing its actually pretty common. It seems to be why elderly ladies have short hair, they cut and curl it so the hair they do have looks thicker. I think its a perfectly normal part of aging that's just not talked about at all. Take a look when you're out, I think you'll be surprised at how common it actually is.
@@Serenity7250 yeah it is! I am an indian and we are naturally genetically supposed to have pretty thick hair but surprisingly hairloss is becoming a quite common issue here too
I lose 150 commonly. Unfortunately this is a bit much to lose and will lead to thinning. Do what you can to resolve the problem and research your situation.
I've had thin hair from when i was little... by the time i was in high school (16 y.o) my hair started thinning even more. I tried many different oils, oil baths, rice water, etc.. for almost 2 years but no noticeable changes... By the time i was 21 i looked sick.. my hair thinned out to the point that my scalp was visible no matter what i tried.. i was miserable, i hated going out, i was stressed due to many things (college life, my hair, financial situation) I tried going to a dermatologist but the pills they prescribed didn't do sh!t so i was basically trying to convince myself that i'll have to live like this.. i looked horrible.. i evaded mirrors and wore beanies or hats all the time and always tried my best to keep my hair hidden When i was 24, i went to another dermatologist for a final attempt (my moms request) and thank goodness they were good at what they do. They requested a blood test saying that they should check first if the problem is caused by hormones, or the thyroid, or iron deficiency, before we can conclude that it's genetic. I'm willing to share my blood test results because i know whoever is reading this is probably searching for answers for their own problem... so i hope this helps. Blood test results showed that i had vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency AND hypothyroidism. So i started with fixing those 3 plus the dermatologist felt like i should stimulate hair growth a little so they suggested using Minoxidil 5% for a period of 1 month only (they suggested this because i was honestly devastated.. i was already miserable from my hair situation, and realizing that i have hypothyroidism made me feel worse and i was having a hard time coping) Ps. Minoxidil 5% was very effective but also came with undesired side effects which is hair growth all over the body and face which i couldn't get rid of... facial hair grew back noticeably fast (4 days time) until 3 weeks after i stopped using Minoxidil 5% 3 months after i was diagnosed (so 2 months after i stopped using Minoxidil 5%) i went back for a check up and the doctor said that my hair has thickened (thanks to Minoxidil 5%) and gave me a PRP shot, i was also told that in autumn hair sheds and i should come back for a 2nd shot by the end of October (which is next week) 5 months after i was diagnosed (so 4 months after i stopped using Minoxidil 5%) my hair thinned back but now it's manageable as long as it's not oily, if i keep it clean i can get away with it (today, October 21st) I'm suspecting i have Androgenetic Alopecia but i have yet to talk to my doctor about it and see what they'll suggest.. i'm not willing to commit to Minoxidil nor PRP for the rest of my life, for many reasons, i heard of hair transplantation but i've no idea if it comes with risks/side effects and i know no one who did it so i'm hesitating, i don't know much about it either, i'm still researching this solution. Ps. i don't want to wear hair toppers or anything like that, no offense to anyone, it's just a stylistic choice Edit : i forgot to add that i'm 25 now ^^' Edit : (January 10, 2023) i long forgot about this comment but i'm back to update it now.. i talked to my dermatologist about Alopecia but they strongly refuted the idea and told me my condition is not the same as Alopecia. I'm relieved but also worried because i'm not sure "how" to treat my hair if idk what the problem is. The dermatologist says that my hair is naturally thin and my nutrition (and stress) can affect its volume and health. I've been prescribed food supplements (called Novophane, please google it for more details). In February i'm getting my 3rd PRP shot. Also i've been using Minoxidil 2% during December 2022 and January 2023. So that's it, that's my story, hope this helps, if you have any questions you can reach me on my instagram @yass_jay9 :)

hi, I loved your video ! I related to your story so much ! Just to say that 'Androgenic Alopecia' is a male pattern hair loss usually.. it's due to Testosterone transformation into DHT thanks to 5-alpha-resuctase... the DHT sticks to a receptor that is mostly on the front of the head (thats why men don't lose hair from the back of their heads) which leads to hair fall... Finasteride blocks this enzyme (5-a-r) from converting Testosterone to DHT, which leads to "decreasing" hair loss.. anyway like how positive you are ! Wishing you all the best !
Im from asia.and my family has also hair loss problem. Whatever i use hairs are still falling?is there or no control?can i control it?btw im 22 years old.Don't know what Will happen in upcoming days
Im not sure if i have alopecia or not. But as I knew since im born i have very thin hair. Especially at my hairline and my temples area. Many hair style i cannot rock it bcause of my hair line. What make it look more worst is i have big forehead too. Big forehead plus thin hair line. If i make ponytail it will shows my scalp. So sad. I usually let my hair down to cover the thin hair line. Sometimes i feel ugly but what can i do is i accept myself and always be grateful to god. To be compare with other im still so much lucky. Im healthy, i have home, i have foods, i have family. Just dont put so much stress about your appearance. Because you don’t deserve that stress.
I'm currently going through hair loss, mainly at the very back of my head where no one usually experiences it but a little bit all over too, my part has gotten a bit wider and harder to cover, my hair texture has changed too. My dermatologist diagnosed me with telogen effluviam but I don't believe that's what it is. I'm convinced mine is due to genetic hair loss. I struggle everyday with the thought of losing my hair, which has always been fine and quite thin to begin with, but videos like this show me I'm not alone.
Thank you for this! I can really relate. I have moderate androgenic alopecia and pattern baldness traits on both sides of the #Flamily. I am 50 but pose as younger as middle-aged "Karens" are not valued in corporate America. I was/am on Rogaine since 2016. Spironolactone since 2018. Reluctantly considering a high quality topper but worried about heat. I only use fibers sporadically. I eat clean and supplement. This all started after I had my first and only child. Suffering for 16 years.
33 and dealing with androgenic alopecia for 2 years. Really struggling with it emotionally at the moment. I know there are so many worse things to go through, but I always think about how many women go about their daily lives not realising how bloody lucky they are just to be able to wear their hair out. It just sucks.
Have you had phases where your hair was growing back or were they constantly falling out? Because I lost many hairs and I have phases where they grow back and I get hope again but I don't know if I can rely on that
Hey there my hair loss is called androgenic alopecia. It is a gradual thinning of the hair or diffuse hair loss. It is best to get your own personal situation checked by a professional x
wow, i've never seen these before! This may be a solution for me while i work on trying to slow down and hopefully recover my hair loss. Thank you for sharing your story :)
My mother lost her hair after pregnancy may be and my hair fall starts in 19 too it's too relatable for me. M I'm 20 now i don't know what to do . I use to have high volume hair so my hair loss doesn't appear much for others but i know what I'm going through 😢
Hi friends I too have same problem. But after consuming one teaspoon of seasame seed and black seed I'm seeing good difference. I'm planning to take flax seed and Fenugreek seed daily along with those. Hope it will work.

As if life isn't hard enough as it is, we have to go through something disfiguring like this and that feels so uncontrollable. It's a horrible feeling or maybe it's just me
Hello, I hope someone answers my question but how do you get diagnosed? I’ve been dealing with my hair falling a lot since last year. I went to the dermatologist and was told is was telogen effluvium but I’m not so sure it’s that because my scalp is becoming more visible and I keep losing a lot of hair. I just don’t know where I should start. Or how this is diagnosed.
I was facing the same issue.. n the worst thing i have to colour my hair as well which make my scalp more itchy and burning kinda sensation. Anyway i m doing yoga specially Balayam (nail rubbing) 10 mins morning and evening before meal and apply the mixture of Bharingraj, amla, reetha and shikakai .. soaked overnight .. i also made an oil for hairs .. organic coconut oil includes bharingraj powder, amla poweder, neem poweder, fenugreek poweder…all powder 1-2 spoons mix with oil and leave the oil in sun light for few days..use glass bottle instead the plastic one… you can also apply the mixture of Bharingraj leaves+ Hibiscus+ Rose + Mint leaves + Basil leaves (Sorry to my English 😬)
We have such a similar story... I also had a "trigger"(in my case, the contraceptive pill), and I had so much thick hair before that it was almost annoying, and I wished I had less. What do they say? Be careful what you wish for... 20 + years later, my hair is 10 times less than it was back then. But I don't give up. When I have good times, I can get by using keratin fibers, and I even venture into bleaching them blonde (yep, don't ask!) I keep them long, and even if they are so thin that I don't even feel the weight, I don't want the illness to control me 100%. I have 2 boxes of hair pieces at home, wigs, bangs, you name it. But I still don't use any of them to go out. I get by. I have more or less the same amount of hair you have (maybe slightly less on the sides), and I also get the usual "oh, but you have hair. Is it not that you're bald!" Not knowing that I was a model for hairdressers when I was young to earn a little money. I suffered so much in silence during these years; my scalp is visible if I don't use the fibers, and my hair is very thin, so they don't know what it's like. But I now try to see the positive side and try different things. Now I'm experimenting with halo extensions because since I have blonde hair, everyone who knows about my alopecia told me that I seem to have more hair. It must be the color. Who knows! I out the fibers, then the halo, and adjust the front. It's a job, and I never feel 100% comfortable, but it is what it is. I made peace with it and now even help people who suffer from hair loss via my website. I want to give something to others instead of crying about my hair loss. As you said, everyone has their own journey, and we need to deal with this as best as we can, possibly with a smile and come out stronger than we were :)
I'm so glad we have so many options now ❤ No one else will get it quite as we do. I used to use Keratin Fibers too! But they made me super itchy. We actually just launched our own brand of fibers clingyfibers.com I hope you're going well with the halo extensions!
@@LustaHair Thanks! I might try them, although the keratin fibers are easy for me to use daily without side effects. At least that :) For the halo extensions, I like it, of course, the top of my head is quite flat but during times of remission is super natural!
Oh my, My hair started falling out a few months after I lost my brother and I never really put that together. It never grew back, it just got thinner and more brittle then I started using extensions and I blamed all of my problems on that.
I think because hair loss in women is often not talked about we don't have this information that can be so useful to us when we start losing our hair! Sending lots of love to you on your journey x

I saw a video about a girl who uses Darsonval tool on her hair. She makes it in sessions: twice a year during 15 days for each session (so, 30 days per year), 10 min every day. Omg hair is so unpredictable right!! I've chatted with so many women who had the same experience as you. Their hair started falling out and then BAM curly hair.
Yo I turned 18 2 weeks ago and was just diagnosed with female pattern baldness. It's so fuckin frustrating, cuz all my relatives got it with 50 and older and here I am getting it the second I turn 18. I went to the doc and they're putting me on some meds however rhe fact that they can't guarantee anything is so scary and makes me so pissed at my shitty ass genes. I swear our genes are so ass
Go for hair transplant plss.. you have still good native hair... you will get surely very good result... and make you tension free for 15, 20 years... after that you can use hair extension... hair extension also damage your bio hair... plss consider this... it is painless and no side effects.. 💜💚

Hi lusta ❤️ I have been shedding super short hairs (less than an inch) with normal long hairs lately and I am worried now. (Not breakage! They are tapered at the ends) Did you experience shedding short tiny hairs? We don’t have any hair loss in our family so I’m not sure what’s going on but I’m worried. :( I had the same thick hair growing up too. It was like a blanket!! I don’t know what happened. As soon as I hit 35 it dramatically got fine and thin overnight. I have no idea why! As I said we have zero genetic hair loss issues in our family. My mom is 69 and still has super thick hair. I don’t get it!
Hi Nicole, hair loss is definitely a journey and everyone's experiences are so different. It is probably best you consult a dermatologist to get some better answers than I can give you here. I definitely know the struggle through!!

Same gurl, having trouble going out some days because I don't feel like myself anymore. I know I will have to shave it at some point but I'm just so not there in terms of accepting my condition.
❤️🙏🏻❤️🩹🙏🏻❤️
My hair was thick too and not even got half of what I had. I feel ugly and self conscious , Unfeminine 🥺

Helped to slow down hair loss but hair strands thinned out or 'miniaturised'. Dont know what will happen when i want to get pregnant. I will probably rely on wigs to cope with anxiety later. But i agree this experience has helped me become selfless and detach myself from physical beauty.
I am also facing the same pbm...
Hair is a big part of someone's identity. what helped to lose weight was a protein diet, a carnivore.
Honestly I have put my hair loss/ thinning problem in the back burner
...I don't think I've been able to accept the fact that I have hair loss even though I hate taking pictures because all I see is my scalp.
Anyways loved your video❤💯

Hi Dhara, how are you doing.
Could you tell me what test was conducted to conclude that you have androgenic alopecia?
I am also suffering from hair loss, but my dermatologist just gave me minoxidil without conducting any test except for visual observation.
Thanks in advance! Cheers!
APA is a bacteria and it can be killed only with garlic oil over the head 2 times a week.
I have the same issue. Can you share your personal information with me so we can connect on this? do the tablets helping you with hair fall? any improvement after PRP treatment? my email is only.shruti87@gmail.com plz reply on that!
Please tell us if it worked

Maybe these women with thick, full hair are the anomaly and we are the the normal ones?😂
It definitely needs to be talked about more, thank you for sharing.
Yeah that could be a real possibility..maybe future humans are supposed to be bald and we are just evolving faster😂

Same here... the same path of hairlos... but i Don't have the money for any treatment or topper or wig... i feel ugly and desperate and hopeless... 😭😭
How many hair strands loss indicates androgenic alopecia ? I lost around 150 today.. should i be worried? 😭
abcd efgh
If you hair doesn’t look thinner over time they don’t worry about how hair you lose. You know your hair.
You’ll notice quickly.
By the time i was 21 i looked sick.. my hair thinned out to the point that my scalp was visible no matter what i tried.. i was miserable, i hated going out, i was stressed due to many things (college life, my hair, financial situation)
I tried going to a dermatologist but the pills they prescribed didn't do sh!t so i was basically trying to convince myself that i'll have to live like this.. i looked horrible.. i evaded mirrors and wore beanies or hats all the time and always tried my best to keep my hair hidden
When i was 24, i went to another dermatologist for a final attempt (my moms request) and thank goodness they were good at what they do.
So i started with fixing those 3 plus the dermatologist felt like i should stimulate hair growth a little so they suggested using Minoxidil 5% for a period of 1 month only (they suggested this because i was honestly devastated.. i was already miserable from my hair situation, and realizing that i have hypothyroidism made me feel worse and i was having a hard time coping)
Ps. Minoxidil 5% was very effective but also came with undesired side effects which is hair growth all over the body and face which i couldn't get rid of... facial hair grew back noticeably fast (4 days time) until 3 weeks after i stopped using Minoxidil 5%
3 months after i was diagnosed (so 2 months after i stopped using Minoxidil 5%) i went back for a check up and the doctor said that my hair has thickened (thanks to Minoxidil 5%) and gave me a PRP shot, i was also told that in autumn hair sheds and i should come back for a 2nd shot by the end of October (which is next week)
5 months after i was diagnosed (so 4 months after i stopped using Minoxidil 5%) my hair thinned back but now it's manageable as long as it's not oily, if i keep it clean i can get away with it (today, October 21st)
I'm suspecting i have Androgenetic Alopecia but i have yet to talk to my doctor about it and see what they'll suggest.. i'm not willing to commit to Minoxidil nor PRP for the rest of my life, for many reasons, i heard of hair transplantation but i've no idea if it comes with risks/side effects and i know no one who did it so i'm hesitating, i don't know much about it either, i'm still researching this solution.
Ps. i don't want to wear hair toppers or anything like that, no offense to anyone, it's just a stylistic choice
Edit : i forgot to add that i'm 25 now ^^'
Edit : (January 10, 2023) i long forgot about this comment but i'm back to update it now.. i talked to my dermatologist about Alopecia but they strongly refuted the idea and told me my condition is not the same as Alopecia.

Thank you so much for watching the video. You will find that this community is super supportive xx

Didn't Minoxidil and Spiro help?
33 and dealing with androgenic alopecia for 2 years. Really struggling with it emotionally at the moment. I know there are so many worse things to go through, but I always think about how many women go about their daily lives not realising how bloody lucky they are just to be able to wear their hair out.
Hey Lovely, I personally went to a dermatologist too but you can also see a trichologist too. Xx
Hair loss at the front of the hairline is the hardest to cover with a topper unfortunately
I was facing the same issue.. n the worst thing i have to colour my hair as well which make my scalp more itchy and burning kinda sensation. Anyway i m doing yoga specially Balayam (nail rubbing) 10 mins morning and evening before meal and apply the mixture of Bharingraj, amla, reetha and shikakai .. soaked overnight .. i also made an oil for hairs .. organic coconut oil includes bharingraj powder, amla poweder, neem poweder, fenugreek poweder…all powder 1-2 spoons mix with oil and leave the oil in sun light for few days..use glass bottle instead the plastic one… you can also apply the mixture of Bharingraj leaves+ Hibiscus+ Rose + Mint leaves + Basil leaves
(Sorry to my English 😬)
We have such a similar story... I also had a "trigger"(in my case, the contraceptive pill), and I had so much thick hair before that it was almost annoying, and I wished I had less. What do they say? Be careful what you wish for... 20 + years later, my hair is 10 times less than it was back then. But I don't give up. When I have good times, I can get by using keratin fibers, and I even venture into bleaching them blonde (yep, don't ask!)
I keep them long, and even if they are so thin that I don't even feel the weight, I don't want the illness to control me 100%.
What specific treatments did you use for your hair loss?
Oh my, My hair started falling out a few months after I lost my brother and I never really put that together. It never grew back, it just got thinner and more brittle then I started using extensions and I blamed all of my problems on that.
I think because hair loss in women is often not talked about we don't have this information that can be so useful to us when we start losing our hair! Sending lots of love to you on your journey x

Your story sounds exactly like mine! Except the biz part. I would love to have a business like this but don’t know where to start. I also looking for new friends. Is there a group for women like us in Australia that we can connect with?

Saif Ul haq it’s a hair piece. It doesn’t help you grow out your hair. I’m considering on getting one.. I’m going through it
What is the name of the group on Facebook that helped you?
there are lots of groups now - if you search 'hair loss' in facebook groups there are many different ones that will come up xx
Rosemary oil?
Hey Lovely, I have heard and tried heaps of methods to try and grow hair back but unfortunately none have worked out for me. Xx
@@LustaHair I’m in the same boat as you. I will have times when it’s more hair and then less hair depending on hormone fluctuations I guess. I’ve been on rosemary oil for the past 6 months and it’s little to no difference. Even tried cutting out dairy and sugar as much as I could for my pcos, no change. I’m thinking of trying prp but idk how effective it is for my hair. There must be a way for my female pattern balding
@@E99-w5n Personally I have spend thousands of dollars on products which are marketed to promote hair growth. None have worked for me as I have alopecia. x

@@LustaHair omg I have androgenic alopecia too, and have nutritional deficiency so yeah ;-; my hair has grown a year ago it thickens but then my unhealthy habits came back and now my hair falls again.... we can do it ! I know we could ! Try using minoxidil also it helps
Same here…
Thts what exactly men use to feel...... But whole world ignores men's feeling.
lol this is not true, men's hair loss is more researched, and has a lot more options as well. Women's hair loss is more complicated.
@@tas64 true, cause there r more male sufferers and in other hand there r labs those only targeting FPHL.
