    I don't think I've ever seen a Francis Energy work without some kind of problem I was about to be amazed and then you had to switch stalls so that checks out 😂

      Galveston is fun, we have friends in Houston now, so I'm sure we will be down more often.

    Did y’all stop at the Centerville RAN network on 45 on your way down from Dallas to Houston?

    While waiting on my R1S I leased a Mercedes EQS. Now looking back I find the rivian cheapely made compared to the EQS. I am completely lost. Not sure if I will still buy the rivian for over 75k

    Love to see the trip leg stats - especially when you see the mpgE numbers that gas and diesel powered trucks can only dream of.
    I’m in the UK and cannot understand why EA has such a terrible attitude to charger maintenance - over here VAG are major shareholders in one of the biggest European charger networks that has the reputation of just working, just like the Supercharger network.

    I've got a high energy dog, so long stops = long walks/runs

    I guess one nice thing about the transition to electric is that maybe it will make people better at math.

    Steve i have a nerdy EV question. I an considering the dual motor performance R1S and looking to have the same camper as you. Do you think the reduced torque and HP would affect towing greatly? Would it be worh it for the minimal range gain. Also using 21's

    • @AllElectricFamily
      @AllElectricFamily  Год назад +1

      Obviously I don't know for sure but from what we have done I would assume that it won't change range at all and the Torque and HP is still well above most vehicles so I'm sure it'll handle it well. But we will find out s-0-0-n.

    Very beautiful wife & kids. As a shareholder, thanks for promoting Rivian and putting Rivian's issues in a positive light. Rivian vehicles may be overpriced and lack lot of features, but it's early. Rivian may have more flaws than other BEV makers, such as Tesla and Ford. But if we don't get investors to stay motivated and buy more shares of Rivian, then Rivian will never get the traction needed to become a mass production BEV seller. So thanks again for not harping on lack of Apple Play, defective interface, defective bed cover and high price and instead focusing on positive things like able to carry passengers and cargo

    How do you feel having paid 6 figures for a used R1S just months ago when are now going in the low to mid 80s?

      I never looked at a car as an investment but if I did I would have sold them early on and made some money but would rather have had some fun and learn/share them. Thanks for always commenting.

    Montréal Québec to Disney World Florida, 2500km - 24 hours drive with 2 drivers.
    EV ...not for me!

  • @tmwei396
    @tmwei396 Год назад

    Yeah, I think it's still way too inconvenient to own and operate and EV right now. Even if the chargers are easy to find, in more convenient locations and work every time, the inconsistent charge performance and long charge times are still huge detractions for me.

    42 cents per KW . More expensive than gas. ! Fail ! Been a Tesla owner long enough to remember when electric highway driving was half of gas . Now Tesla chargers are 80 to 90 percent of gas and other chargers are parity or more expensive . Hopefully and eventually energy costs come down a bit because out of the eco warrior mentality no one is going to buy an ev to pay more for charging and spend more time doing it ! Thanks God I have kept my unlimited supercharger car :) I should buy another one ! Future investment!

    OMG . . . , it's painful watching you have to keep stopping to charge for so long each time. That'd drive me insane. You and your wonderful family have more patience than the average humans, just sayin. Great videos though.

      Thanks! We could stop more often to lessen the charge times but find ourselves hanging out and feeling like we are herding cats back to the car at times.
