New Orleans Weather: Storms returning Friday

Storms over the Gulf waters actually provided a bit more cloud cover than expected, which helped to keep temperatures in the low to mid-80s range rather than the upper 80s. A weak cold front will move through, bringing a slight drop in humidity tonight and Wednesday. More sunshine is expected on Wednesday, and highs will be near 90°.
Another upper low will bring a chance for some showers and storms on Thursday, but more so on Friday and Saturday. There is a risk for some heavy rain at times on Thursday, although coverage is only 20-30%. The greater threat looks to be just north of us for Friday, but some heavy rain is expected, and severe threat remains a possibility. Some scattered storms on Saturday before we dry out on Sunday. Dry and hot heading into the start of next week.
