Yes, it is not original technology Korea developed, and yes, we bought technologies from French TGV, paid HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY for it and I really don't like some Japanese people's comments that we stole the technique. This fact is on the documentary too, we boguth tech, worked with French engineers, isn't it? it was a governmental contract between Korea and France, not stealing what others developed, so Korea made contract with France, paid money, all people in Korea knows it so, what is wrong at this? You didn't even watch the documentary, and blame that Korea stole or copied? Also, do you think that Japan developed Shinkansen all by Japanese original technology? It's funny Japanese haters are blaming without even researching what is the fact for few mins. (BTW I think this documentary was made around late 1990s or early 2000, on the documentary, KTX is 1st generation and now we are using are more developed one)

The design is known as a "Jacobs bogie" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacobs_bogie) and is used on several trains, including the TGV, on which the KTX is based. And, according to the german wikipedia article on the design, the designer applied for patent on the design as far back as in 1901. The re-generative brake is not new or revolutionary either. As far back as in the 1930s, a version of this system was used, and are also used on the french TGV, and various other trains. So perhaps what is meant, is that the KTX might use those systems differently, but I am not sure. Apart from such minor flaws, this is still a great documentary,
