This man is 100% right I’ve been telling people to do this from the beginning and if you change your dead zone to reflect what you want it to do,like let’s say you turn your response curve all the way down but get stick drift, turn your dead zone up a little more and it will be smooth and crispy. At that point it’s just a matter of getting your thumb and muscle memory used to not needing to pull your stick to the bottom rim

As a long time player, I recommend you have your response curve set to atleast 1 or higher. It's more consistent the higher you set it and you won't have as much stick drift if that's an issue. I played at 0 or 1 for years and went to 5 for better beams, even if it messes up my tracking occasionally.
if your a newer player on controller, you might want to turn it up higher then that recommended line in my opinion. new controller players have trouble with the smaller movements. Especially under pressure.
The whole point in playing a shooter with recoil feature is to get good at that recoil feature ...the fps game loses signicant gun skill associated with a shooter and makes it a "spray stupidity game for adhs kids that might be satisfied with easy shit". I played a roller for 3 weeks and mnk for the rest since season 3 + thousands of hours in other games....and yet I am still better in one clipping people on roller in this game. It just takes you perhaps 3-6 weeks and with a good game sense, you are 200% a master player every season! Its so easy that I went back to mnk to have better skill challenges.

Before I used this I always would get 2 or 1 and sometimes 0 kills but after using this setting I get 5 to 8 or 9 kills and my aim get 100 if not 200 times better. Thank you🙂
@@colin7225 for sure, I set my deadzone high enough that there's no stick drift from just touching the stick, I think that's usually about 12-14%. Then my response curve is at minimum (0) I've found this to be the best recoil control settings for me, then go into the firing range and see what the new recoil for each gun is so you're not caught off guard when you're in a match Hope it helps!

Great advice! Unfortunately, I'm one of those players whose muscles tense up during fights, so there is not much subtle stick movement for me. I have to play with very low sensitivities in order to counter myself and to keep the reticule from wildly swinging all over the screen. That said, since I play on a large TV (console), I always kept my FOV on default. I recently raised FOV to 100, and my accuracy instantly improved. Even though I can barely see the target, I can laser people from a decent distance with a Flatline now.
What helped me within my ALCs was cranking the yaw pretty high for movement, but then lowering the pitch modifier to around 60-75. It allows almost no recoil during hip fire, also it helps tremendously with lining up your shots during any type of Aerial movement tech. I highly recommend for console movement players who want a good base for flicks, but want hip fire accuracy from something like 3-2 linear.
Lower response curve and making sure your ADS Yaw and Pitch are exactly the same… if it’s too hard then lower sens. Start off with 120/120 and go from there until you’re comfortable. Me personally I run 500/500 0 linear but I don’t recommend anyone using it.
Thats also just liner response curve if you dont like to fiddle with custom stick controls and where the line is, is just classic you dont need to go all the way into custom controls to change this
Well yeah, controller players literally have the game auto-lock the reticle onto enemies. If controller players really want to be proud of that vs the mnk people who have to put in time and work to do all the crazy moves and aim well without aim assist, okay I guess. You do you 🤷♂️

Also maybe this helps. If you don’t know what recoil smoothing is I strongly suggest you to look it up and use it to your advantage. Will help with the side to side recoil with the flatline within 50 meters. Can’t remember how far it works but 50 to be safe
Cod has that the, original cods had the response curve as linear which meant there was no multiplier when you moved it was just raw input from stick to screen.
I understand you have a less coil but then again You sacrifice the quick reaction when you have it off. When you have this option on it makes everything seems to Make the movements go slow but at the same time your shots are very accurate

In order to play with linear response curve like this you have to have a good controller with no stick drift or set your deadzone higher defeating the purpose of this setting. If you do have a good controller I highly recommend this.
Fun fact if you are newer to apex, don’t use alc’s ( advanced looked controls ) they sre harder to use than the classic look response. i would recommend 5/4 sensitivity or 4/3 sensitivity om classic for a universally good casual and comp sensitivity.
I’m the opposite direction, to find consistency I set outer threshold to maximum so that there is a large zone where the maximum input is guaranteed. This means knowing exactly what your max input is is very important, it should be a value that you’re comfortable with when aim assist locks on. My response curve is to maximum so that within that ring there is a high amount of precision. Within that inner ring it’s low sens. But I can very quickly ramp it up to its max sens by hitting that easily accessible outer threshold. It’s like having the best of linear on standby. My hip fire sens is very low while aim assist locks on,so that I can pre aim before ADS but has extra yaw to zip around out of aim assist. To make use of this I turned my melee aim assist off, meaning to tap into my fast look speed I tuck my gun away, probably insta slide to a better cover situation and pull my gun back out to return to lower sens It helps with my older Xbox’s other constraints, if I were mnk with better fps I would take a different approach but this works for my situation.

Low response curve makes it feel faster then it is. Counter it by lightly lowering your sens.
For anyone doing this, if you lower your response curve too much it will affect your precision at longer ranges.

My hip fire sens is very low while aim assist locks on,so that I can pre aim before ADS but has extra yaw to zip around out of aim assist.
To make use of this I turned my melee aim assist off, meaning to tap into my fast look speed I tuck my gun away, probably insta slide to a better cover situation and pull my gun back out to return to lower sens
It helps with my older Xbox’s other constraints, if I were mnk with better fps I would take a different approach but this works for my situation.

It's Night and Day after lowering this. Good shit man. 👌🏻 After all these years I finally realize why I've hated playing Apex. They set the response curve way too fucking high compared to most shooters.
