I've never turkey hunted. I'm now 65 and figure it's about time. I stumbled onto your video and it made me just want to get into the forest. Thank you so much.
15 years old grew up in the city of flordia moved up to north flordia because we bought 30 acres and my buddy came and helped me get my first turkey today and i was shaking badly but for any deer i’m nice and calm always
Just shaking my head and smiling. I love the sound of you using the mouth call. I wanted to fold down the screen of my laptop to make sure there wasn't a hen standing behind it making those calls. I am good enough to have fooled plenty of gobblers over the years but when I listen to this, all I can do is smile and hit the replay. It is the clarity. like every note is played the whole way through. The difference between a champion caller and a weekend warrior like me. I have to end this comment... I want to hit the replay button again. :-)
Thank you. As a rookie you’re advice is invaluable. Trying to learn using a mouth call. My very first day I had them answering me right off the get go. However, after the first half hour or so they seem to have gone quite. I was using just a slate call. It sure sounded good. From what I’m gathering, the mouth call is just a matter of practice, practice and more practice? Thanks again.
Called in my first gobbler ever this morning in MN. Used a Bone Collector slate call. Did not get a shot but he was huge! I know what I did wrong in my set up and will correct and connect!
Love watching your turkey videos. I'm new to turkey hunting. I just bought my 17 year old son a Poplar Girl for his first call. Our season just started in WV and we're going to try to get his first bird using your call.
I already called Me a really nice tom in with a 9 inch bird in Massachusetts but season doesn't start till April 27th up here feels good to know where a big bird is hanging out though
I think a good think to mention if someone is new to the glass/slate call is to rough up the surface with a piece of fine grit sandpaper for friction first before using.
enjoyed watching the video very informative I am think About giving turkey hunt another try had taken one years ago but unfortunately got snake bit the next season here in Georgia
Great video Michael. Very helpful. Are there any sounds a turkey makes that mean “danger” that we would need to be mindful of on a turkey call not to make?
I saw another video where the instructor said to cluck & yelp together, but not to cluck & purr together because that is what hens do when they are upset and it is equivalent to a doe blowing. Thoughts?
Same! I've had my call in my mouth pretty much non stop for just about the last 2 months LOL been told it's "not very ladylike" ... Oh well! 🤷🏼♀️ In the car, walking through the store, while fixing dinner, etc. Practice makes perfect! 😉😁🦃

That looks like a Billy White " Hustling Hen " box call . I've been using one for years.
Great video Michael. Very helpful. Are there any sounds a turkey makes that mean “danger” that we would need to be mindful of on a turkey call not to make?
