Buddy of mine ended up being "The real fan" at Billy Joel's concert a few years back. He's not a very well off guy so when he found out his Piano Man was coming to town he did whatever he could to get any ticket. Next thing he knows he's getting upgraded, thought he'd end up in the main floor in the back but nope, front row.

Fun fact about the billy Joel one: Florence + the machine also does this! My friend and I were in the nosebleeds when we saw her at Wells Fargo center and we and a bunch of other people ended up getting moved right next to the stage. It was incredible!

There is a recording of her making these claims. Did the media report all these claims she made? No they did not. For some reason they only reported the ones that were not impossible or easily disproven, and they presented an edited version of the audio recording that had these impossible claims and easily disproven claims removed. They mentioned the drugs claim and the beating up women claim, but they implied she had not named any of these women, and some of them mentioned the devil worship claim but they did not mention the magic powers claim. For some reason, the media have an agenda to smear Prince.

We were in the very back of the amphitheater and ushers came by and asked if we’d rather have pit tickets. Yes was the obvious answer and next thing we knew we were right in front of the stage.
They put on one hell of a show!

I went to a show for both the DJs that were there. I was fangirling about how the second one to come on was my fav since I was a kid, while the first guy was a recent favorite.
The crowd let me have the front early enough that when the second guy came on, I already had it before other people could come get it from me. Was awesome.

I know - for some reason this didn't bother me either, although I get if his Mom wouldn't have been down with it. They thought they were fulfilling a wish and wanted that shared experience of being close to a friend.
My parents were friends with Larry Graham from Sly and the Family Stone who was friends with Prince. My parents got to go to Paisley Park for private late night concerts and parties. Yes, Jehovah Witnesses actually have fun.

I got those Billy Joel tickets you mentioned!!! My mum and me went went I was about 14 and some lady from America approached us and asked if we wanted front row tickets! Later in the gig all the fans at the front were dancing and he reached down to like high five us and my mum touched his hand! As a life long fan she was so chuffed!!! Love billy ❤️

Actually the whole "Cease to Exist"/"Never Learn Not To Love" incident was not the end of Manson's musical career as there were at least 10-12 'unique' Manson LPs.

Manson's music was appreciated by neil young as well, who said Manson "wasnt a songwriter, he was a song spewer" and that he told a record producer that Manson's "music was good, just a little out of control". Id say he's right in saying Charlie just pours songs out seemingly out of nowhere, and that its uncontrolled, but thats what makes it so unique and cool imo. And ive checked out his music, became obsessed with the man, his music is otherworldly, its a simple acoustic guitar and his voice, but he improvises and makes up haunting melodies on the spot, he made better music in prison with a sony tape record than many many spoiled musicians on the outside make in million dollar studios with entire bands backing them up, thats impressive to me. I also heard there were connections between Frank Zappa and Charlie, also Jim Morrison. Also, Mick Jaggar worked with Bobby Beausoleil on an album called Lucifer Rising for a film by Kenneth Anger, if i remember correctly, Beausoleil was in the "Manson Family". There are quite a few odd connections the Manson, and it goes beyond the 60s, popular artists have covered his songs, and/or in some way interacted with Charlie and his music, or have taken interest in Manson related items or the houses associated with the crimes. Henry Rollins, nine inch nails, marilyn manson obviously has some interest in Charlie, rob zombie, guns n roses, for example.
also just for fun and for anyone who read this far and is interested, Charlie liked music by nat King Cole, Ernest Tubb, and later on he developed an appreciation for Tangerine Dream, those are just a few I can remember off the top of my head.
Billy Joel gets mad respect all ready and knowing that even more. More musicians should do that, it would make some peoples...life.
