How to Find Fish at New Spots - Inshore Kayak Fishing New Waters

- In this video, I went kayak fishing at a new spot that I've never been to before inside of Tampa Bay. I discuss how I find fish (redfish, snook, and speckled trout) while inshore fishing in new waters. I also talk about the rigs, rod and reel setup, and lures I like to use when exploring new spots. These tips are definitely good "fishing for beginners" tips, but they can also be helpful for an experienced angler trying somewhere new.

What's your go-to lure/bait when fishing at a new spot?
Mine is the D.O.A. C.A.L.
Love the kayak videos
Lil mullet by NLBN👍
If the lighting is right, I love bombing a topwater just because you can cover so much area. I nailed a new 35" PB red on Sunday morning on the Rapala Skitter-V.
Slam shady and a Alabama leprechaun
Vudu shrimp
I've been pushing myself to try a new spot in the kayak each trip and document what I find. Great vid as usual! 🔥
Top three biggest inshore slam caught in this spot.
26" trout. 29" red. 37" snook. It's great when the water temp is lower. Gets overrun with brown algae in summer.
I'll always give a thumbs up to someone who gives the specs to their fishing set-up
I like seeing you try different fishing locations. Might want to include why you picked this spot and your game plan for catching targeted fish. Keep the videos rolling. 👍🏻
Love all your videos bro! I'm hoping to run into you some day fishing! Good luck and safe fishing dude 👍
Great video. love the simplistic approach
Getting fired up for the weekend. Solid video.🎣
Thanks for this great video dude! Could you share what factors go into planning your trip on a kayak, like what wind conditions are good, time of the day, tides, etc. ?
Been hittin the intercoastal over by indian rocks beach. Having tons of luck!
Really? The pompano and sheepshead bite has been insane over by the Misner bridge, I’ll have to head over there.
@@aaronhiggs do you mean madeira?
Nice video 👍I have been using the NLBN greenback color and the mullet run color lately with good results 🤙
I need to give NLBN a shot, I've heard good things about them
Where are folks getting the NLBNs in the Tampa area or do you have to order online?
I've been getting mine from their website
Nice work at a new spot! Not sure if you've ever done this, but you can create lists on Google maps. When I do my pre-fishing on either my phone or PC, I just add them to the same list with a detailed name. I've found it's hard on the water to see the contrast on Google maps from my phone, so I'll label all the oyster bars etc... in advance. The other cool thing is you can share lists with your friends.
Nice looking area 👀
That looks like veterans park in saint Pete
Try to fish Venice FL if u ever get the chance
Anything on top water is fun I don’t care if it’s a bait fish.
Did you go to hagerty high school or does huskies mean something else
University of Connecticut
Great video . What line do you use and what pound test ?
I use 10# powerpro braid
What launch is this? I haven't been able to find any good kayak launches yet. If appreciate any spots
Where is this spot in Tampa ?
What kayak do you use?
It’s a Malibu Stealth-9
What part of Florida is this? Not looking for exacts but just a county
North Tampa Bay
Is this picnic island? Or around it?
Nope. :-)
