  • Hi Guys!
    Just a quick video of a before and after exhaust sound clip of my 2018 ND Miata with the Borla Type-S Exhaust. I bought this exhaust used from the miata.net forum. So far I like this exhaust a lot. Working on the install video for it as well.

    Amazing clip. I went ahead and installed the same Borla S type on my RF and it sounds even better in person. I wonder how did your installation process go. I found that it was quite difficult to get the bolts in and needed lock clamps to keep the catback/mid pipe closer while I fitted the factory spring bolt in. Since the factory bolts are fixed on the back of the spring, I noted that with the Borla exhaust, the springs are way more compressed (almost all the way) compared to the OEM exhaust. I also feel a very mild leak at that junction. I do not hear any weird sound. I wonder if you had similar issues or if anybody else in the comments can share their experience. I might try to replace the gasket with a new OEM as mine was already 7 months old since I got the car out from the dealer. Looking forward to see if any helpful thoughts from any of you. Thanks

    Strange issue here, but I think you only have exhaust escaping the left tube as I cannot hear anything from the right audio channel.

    Nice, thanks for the comparison.
    By chance can your ramps fit on your MX-5, either stock or lowered? I'm looking for a set to do home oil changes. Thanks again 👍

      I have coilovers so they are too low to use the normal drive up ramps. I used a jack to lift and Race Ramps to place the car on. Gives a lot of room to work on.

    Sounds amazing!! Looking at the same exhaust for my miata ND and I was curious to see if you had any intake recommendations or if the intake is even necessary. Mine is completely stock so I just want to make sure I’m going everything the right way!

      Hey there, I wouldn't personally get an air intake as I believe it wont provide much of a performance boost. If you are after sound then I think any of the ones made for it will be okay.

      @@charlietango6546 You are correct; aftermarket intakes are not effective for the NDs...Mazda did a great job designing the air box on these little cars!

    Thanks for sharing the video. Did I spot some Tein coilovers in there? I am thinking to get some on my ND MX-5 too. How much did you lower the car, and did you need to adjust the headlights after lowering?

    • @charlietango6546
      @charlietango6546  4 года назад +4

      Hi there! Yes those are TEIN Monosport coilovers. I was debating if I should do a video but I guess it depends on the interest. The TEIN Monosports come from the factory set to lower the ND about 1.5 inches so I didn't need to make any changes there. Depending on the year ND you won't need to worry about the headlights. If you check your rear suspension and see a mech lever attached to the suspension arm then you'll need to adjust your headlights after the install. I believe 2018 and up have an automatic adjustment.

    Question does this drone with top up? Have an ND2 RF. Thanks !

    • @charlietango6546
      @charlietango6546  3 года назад +3

      Since you have the RF it would probably be even better. There is just slight drone when you are part throttle but when crusing its actually pleasant. With the top up it was defintly not bad and the wife didn't mind it at all

      @@saint272 No tune needed for just the axle back. When I added the AVO headers I used the OFT tuner and used their stage 2 tune.
