      The meaning of the ending was that Mr Rogers is just a character that he is playing on his tv show. It wasn’t implying it was a random man pretending to be THE Mr Rogers. Just that, nothing is as it appears on television.

      It’s a parody so it wouldn’t qualify as slander. The intent was to make people laugh, and it clearly wasn’t meant to reflect the real Fred Rogers. This would be slander if it were presented completely differently as a documentary and recreation of an actual event where Mr. Rogers sexually assaulted a video store clerk and became violent towards everyone around him.

    In 1982 visit with Letterman: Rogers said Murphy’s skit was funny but many are not. He gave example of radio DJ using Mister Rogers voice telling kids to light a fire using a spraycan (and that was horrible). He probably thought the same of this Pretend Rogers molesting women/watching porn/and being violent
    .

    • @Shanethefilmmaker
      @Shanethefilmmaker 5 лет назад +3

      While I have heard him dislike some skits at his expense, I just don't see him not cracking up on Jim Carrey or the line "Mister Rogers kicked my ass." While Mister Rogers is a nice guy, he has been known for actually having strange tastes in terms of media entertainment. For example, George Romero was the director of his Tonsillectomy episode. Which in turn inspired George to do Night of the Living Dead, one of the first horror movies to introduce, Gore, Nudity and terrifying violence. Mister Rogers actually liked that movie.

    • @hypnotised-clover

      @@Shanethefilmmaker Huhhhh? You mean he liked a movie that many normal people like? What a weirdo.

    • @Shanethefilmmaker
      @Shanethefilmmaker 5 лет назад +5

      @@hypnotised-clover fuck your sarcasm. What I was conveying was that he started his show, because he didn't like what was on tv those days, mainly slapstick and violent movies. So him liking Night of the living dead, one of the worlds first extremely violent and gory movies in the world, was a shock to many.
