  • Triumph are considered to be the founders of the original Desert Sled and made famous by none other than Steve McQueen. They have also kept this DNA and spirit of the Scrambler alive all these years, refining it yet never losing the essence and soul of it all.
    Here I had the privilege of taking the brand new 2023 Triumph Scrambler 900 out on a ride and review. What a fantastic little bike...... Sometimes it is as they say "less is more"

    Those pipes sound perfect if you take off the Cat and install British Customs De-Cat Header. Perfect fit, snap to do. Run them with the boost plug. Give the bark and throttle snap you are looking for.

    Excellent review, the only one I have seen that actually demonstrates the torque assisted clutch which may not be significant to an experienced rider like myself but would extremely reassuring for the novice. Well done, best wishes from the UK!

    I bought a (new) 2019 SS in 2020 and it's been a superb bike. Power, handling, quality - I smile every time I ride it, and often when I'm just looking at it. And no, I've never had any problem whatsoever with heat coming off the exhaust pipes.

    •  Год назад

      Do you feel you need a 6th speed on the highway ?

    • @paralleltwin3025
      @paralleltwin3025 Год назад +2

      @ No, I've never felt the need for an additional gear on the highway. That having been said, I bought the bike primarily for cruising back country roads (and I can't imagine a better bike for that purpose). IMHO, any knock against the SS on the highway isn't due to its lack of a 6th gear, but rather due to the fact that it is a naked bike. If I were primarily riding on highways I would have purchased a different bike - something with a fairing and a windshield akin to the Honda VFR Interceptor I had back in the late '90's. While I really liked my Honda Interceptor, I LOVE my Scrambler. My complaint with the Interceptor was always that the fairing was almost TOO good - I had to ride at stupid fast speeds to make it feel like I was doing anything. I decided that if I ever got another motorcycle it would be naked, and at least for me that was a very good decision. I have more fun on my Scrambler at 35 -45 mph than I did on the Interceptor at any speed. Keeping in mind that it's a naked bike, the Scrambler does just fine on the highway at 70 mph, but IMHO that's not where it really shines.

    Great review, it really does make you question whether you actually need a 1200. Easy listening, covered most if not all points needed in a review. Didnt know about the torque assisted clutch. Wish we had that sunny weather in the UK!

    What can I say about this bike that you haven't? It's a gem😀👍 I'm on my second one in two years. First one got stolen and written off by some lowlife scumbag😡 I was absolutely gutted and went straight out and bought another😃. 220kg and 64bhp aren't headline numbers but who cares when the bike is so nice to ride!👍👍 Even though I've owned one for a while I still like reading the reviews and enjoyed this one.👍

    I watched another video of the scrambler and it had that new style seat. And I like it. It separates the passenger seat front the driver. Plus it looks really cool. The rest looks basic triumph but just fine.
    I have a 2005T100. And other than the chumpy headlight bracket i love everything about it.
    Not sure I'd love those pipes under your thigh, but not sure. Never ridden one. I guess if you're pants are thick enough, alls well. But I don't wear gear when I ride, just basic jeans boots and a light jacket. And helmet of course. The one I saw was that Army green. That's a good color for an Enduro style bike. Never tried that one handed pull off. Guess I'm so used to everything, ya just feel it.
    Yes, for sure a 900 is plenty of umpf. Ya just gotta use the transmission when you want that larger push.
    Thanks for a really nice review.
    Happy New Year.✌️

    Great video, thank you very much for all of the details, fantastic looking machine. I ordered a new 2023 Triumph Scrambler 900cc last week, should be here in March 2023. I ordered the special 2023 chrome edition, which is gloss Brooklands green with chrome inlays on both sides of the tank (not sure if you are getting those where you are, looks like you are in RSA), and they are only getting one per dealer of those here in Canada (I think it was only $100 more than the red w/black stripes). We have the 2023 matte green in dealers now here in Canada. Again, thanks for the video & cannot wait to get my bike. After 40+ years of riding, this might be my "retirement" bike. Keep up the great work on the videos! Cheers, Ronny

    Thanks for the review, it is amazing. One question, I am really into this bike and it will be my first. I want to know about the exhaust heat - I have searched internet there are somes that heat is unacceptable and some of them says it is not noticeable. I have checked and there is no statement from Triumph about that. Is the heat really depends on the person's feel or there is a significant heat?
    Thanks

    • @route21garage
      @route21garage  Год назад

      If you are traveling very slowly in a convoy for long periods of time it can get warm but not unbearable. If you ride in shorts yes!
      However in general riding with airflow it is perfect. I rode in jeans, on backroads, highways, twisties and I generally found it totally acceptable for the win vs in cosmetic look.

      Heat from the exhaust.
      I picked my new one up July last year when we still had the good weather and have rode it through the winter as well. [England]
      In hot weather all the time you are moving the heat is fine, but when you stop at traffic lights in the city the heat from the engine rising up is similar to the heat off of the exhaust and can be uncomfortable,
      If you flat foot the bike while stationary your leg gets uncomfortable from the heat on the exhaust but it’s not unbearable,
      [you find your self leaning the bike over slightly to get your leg off of the pipes]
      So around town in the summer you need to wear a light biker jacket to keep cool but out on the country roads wearing your full armoured biker clothes is fine.
      This year the winter here has been very cold, and I have found myself actually looking forward to the heat off of the engine and exhaust pipes.
      As a country road bike in the summer it’s been fantastic on the twisty bends, as a city bike for the winter it’s been great. [rain mode and anti lock brakes and the heat while waiting in the cold at the lights]
