Nice video, my brother and I used to go fishing along the river from the town down to Sandford Lock in the early 60's, very many memories. Barnes Mill was a favourite spot, we never caught much but it didn't matter. Lots of walking and fresh air.

Very enjoyable video. I used to work on 'Victoria' the trip boat from Papermill Lock for a few years when it was new, great to see the Navigation being used so much. Thank you for a lovely 21 minutes!

nice ... Whitson (creek) river in Chelmsford, Ontario, Canada, is similar but has many small rapids and is only navigable by canoe or kayak. Still trying to figure out who came by about 1885 when the village took the name as the Canadian Pacific Railroad and the mining venture capitalist were marking the area... Easton ??? Capreol ??? ... nice vid... very picturesque and historic sites

Although I lived in Chelmsford until my mid-teens (in the 60s), I knew nothing of this. Fascinating. I wonder if there's a towpath between the two ends still? Looks idyllic. Thanks.

Hi Ratman. Very pleased you enjoyed the video. There is the remains of the towpath all the way.

@@BASHER601 Maybe then, one day I'll bring my mountain bike to Chelmsford and cycle the towpath. It looks quite idylic.
