It's always a privilege to hear the wonderful natural voice of Amira, who has never used any auto-tuning or pitch correction software. Ah. I've not watched this one for several months. Amira was 12, and had just sung a solo O mio babbino caro before Patrizio joined her for the duet. ( Pat ritzio Bu annie is sort of how it's pronounced.) He is from Naples, and seems happy with Amira's Italian. Perhaps he helped her with it during rehearsals. Later in the show she sang another solo. ( Nella Fantasia) There is a thoughtful looking gent about half way through, that is actually Amira's manager, Mike Fuller. There’s another aspect to all this that sometimes is forgotten. Amira’s parents who all of sudden one day had a daughter that was in great demand all over the world. Like this concert, probably on a weekend and Amira had to be in school on Monday! There was this world famous performer and a daughter whom they had to protect and make sure she had some normal childhood. Sleep overs, game practice and of course education. Great job. Well done and of course “Bravo”.

No, it's NOT an opera aria; it's a popular Neapolitian (i.e. from Naples) song, written in 1898 by Eduardo di Capua (1865-1917) and Alfredo Mazzucchi (1878-1972). Amira was, at 12, a guest performer at the inaugural concert of the "Classics is Groot" concert in Pretoria, South Africa. Her parents had flown down from The Netherlands with her, for this performance. They were singing it in the Neapolitan dialect of Italian.
