Polo the reason why they sound different is evolution. The Who is a 60s English Band. They were part of the English Invasion. And like the Stones, the Who evolved with each passing decade. You are now listening to 80s Who.
This song is "FRONTING" and people especially in parties putting false representation of themselves. "Fronting." 😊😊😊
I was living in a fraternity house in college and the guy next door to my room played this song in a loop all day - for like 6 months. He blew out his stereo twice as played it very loud. I fixed his stereo each time so he could keep playing it - never got sick of it.
The reason this song sounds different from the others you did by The Who is Pete Townshend (lead guitar and composer) is singing the lead on thios one. Roger Daltrrey, the bands lead singer did the vocals on the other ones you did. Also, Kenny Jones is the drummer on this. He replaced Keith Moon who passed away after the Who Are You album.
I saw them live! Years ago. It prepared me be deaf enough to deal with teenagers later in life.
This song is about the sterility and facades of the cocaine personality and coke parties, true story
This song always puts me into a trance. Such a great keyboard loop and rhythm.
Johns bass is so sick on this track! He’s so underrated!
The fans have got your back. Pete Townshend on vocals and Kenny Jones on drums are a different version of the Who. Pete has some solo work out there as well. Maybe check out "Let My Love Open the Door" or "Lost Boys" from the Empty Glass album.
This is the song you start your day on when you want to destroy any challenge that comes your way.
I remember when Cadillac used this song in their car commercials. Talk about delicious irony. Pete must have been laughing all the way to the bank.
Their last great hit. When everyone thought they were done they pulled this Mona Lisa out of the hat.
The isolated bass on this song is insane.
I missed them in 1970 at college because I didn't have the $4.50 for the ticket. 50 years later I finally got to see them but the ticket now cost me $450!😂 Worth every penny!❤
You love bass: "The Real Me," is a must.
I tapped on this video as fast as I could. I KNEW you would absolutely love it. The song was a bit controversial among many of The Who's fans for being disco-ish, but I don't care what anybody labels this song; I just label it as being one of the greatest songs this band ever did. The groove is strong and undeniable, Pete Townsend sings with such soul and conviction, his guitar playing is subtle and amazing, and overall this song just rocks extremely steady.
Check out "Real Me" from The Who. One of the most amazing bass performances in rock.
Happy Jack, Boris the Spider, Long Live Rock, My Wife, Mobile, Squeeze Box, Slip Kid, Bargain, Pure and Easy....... So many great tunes from this band, and a couple of Rock Operas.
One of my favorite Who songs! Townshed really shines on this one!
