You are right, many Indian women take this choice to another level. In many parts of the world, top gynaecologists are males and there is no big deal. There is no sensation for them and it is nothing to do with their feelings. Women shouldn’t feel shy or overly sensitive about it. They are just doctors and don’t have any feeling when they are doing it. They won’t continue in their profession if they have these stupid feelings. It is just a part of the body.

That is right some of the top gynecologists in India and in US are male. I had early miscarriage issue and started looking for top specialists and now working with a male doctor. He understood my problem and explained everything from diet, immunity, lifestyle changes and tests etc. I m grateful to be working with him.
Abt harassment- doctors are trained well to be professional, my doctor would take consent and permission before examination and I had no issues with it

@@kickass001234 I never said that competence does not matter, my Male cousin is a Doctor and has done many deliveries but you can't deny That a female is more comfortable with female if we have options. It's not like we all live in remote villages and we do not have options of competent doctors. It's just a matter of comfort, you really need to trust your doctor to discuss your problems. I do not say it's not wrong it's just how we are bought up that brings this hesitation. Maybe the next generation will be more open. Things changes with time.

I am from Sri Lanka My two pregnancy period I choosed female gynecologist but my husband insisted me to go to male gynecologist. I argued with that.but husband said that was a matter about baby and mother that's why he wanted to choosed a genius.

When I was working in Urology, I passed Foley's catheter in men and women. In an emergency setting, they won't care. In a normal setting, the patient's comfort comes first.
