    I want to make a quick note that you should never hang your sweaters - I only do this when filming these video, but they should be folded to keep from stretching out the neck and shoulders!

    I give you massive points for wearing “real” clothes on days you don’t leave the house. If I have a zoom call or something, I put on a nice top. Otherwise I’m wearing my “I’d rather not be wearing this on a car accident” loungewear.

    I am the other way around: always reaching for skirts and my pants very seldom get worn, even in winter. Then I just layer skirts over each other and wear some leggings.
    This came at a suitable moment for me as I am currently decluttering my clothes. Maybe 3½ years since last time I did it, and as with creating capsules I realise and need to think a lot about my style and my needs when going through my clothes.

    I also noticed this back in May. I go on campus for work once a week, and the rest of my time is spent at home or occasionally running errands. there's no reason to dress up unless I want to, there's no reason to be uncomfortable unless I'm trying to adhere to a specific dress code (none of which are being implemented at this point in time). It's really nice that I can just sit at home and be comfortable and wear things I enjoy.

    I really enjoyed this video. I find that I have definitely been dressing more for comfort since the pandemic started. I think I’m going to have to add a couple of pairs of comfortable yet warm pants to my wardrobe. Ontario winters get pretty cold. I love the idea of the more dressy sweat pants.

    All I want to wear in the winter is pullover sweaters. We keep our house pretty chilly so it’s sweaters for me! I agree about jeans. I wear them to the grocery store or out and about, but usually I’m in yoga pants.

    It wasn't a boring capsule, thank you for sharing! I think it is important and relevant to address how fashion has changed. And while there is still dressy fashion, the more relevant clothes of 2020 are lounge wear.

    Thanks for a great video! I love the look of the new dress you have coming--I hope we can see it! I didn't know Indigenous and was just looking at their dresses--I love them, thanks for that! Would love to see a little "capsule lookbook" if you're up for it at some point, too! :-) I also REALLY love a longline cardigan for fall and winter and enjoyed seeing yours. And that colorful maxi kimono/robe just gets me every time. I love it so much! The only way my wardrobe has changed is that I don't wear the really structured "stiff" stuff as much, and I haven't been wearing as many of my beloved scarves (lightweight or otherwise)--and that makes me a bit sad (maybe I should just start wearing them anyway!). For some reason those work better when I leave the house. But I do find myself wearing dresses and my favorite wide-leg pants and even some jeans. I've tried to wear things that are comfortable but still make me feel dressed and just a little bit styled and put together. It just makes me feel happy and better. But I believe everyone should do what's right for them of course!

    At the end of each season I always donate clothes I did not wear or liked. But I found with covid that I couldn't do it since I just wore work clothes (im an in home caregiver so all I wore was comfy clothes that enabled me to care for someone else). I have a small wardrobe anyway so I just put my few summery things away instead of going through them.

    Having done capsule wardrobes for 3 years I find they are the best in colder countries(Canada) or countries with distinct seasons since pieces need to be rotated by weather anyway. I was hard to do capsules when I was travelling in South America (precovid) as I needed most of the same pieces all year round.

    I would recommend you checking out WOOL CLOTHING. I mean, indeed you already own wool sweaters however you can have a look at wool t-shirts, leggings, underwear shirts or socks for example. You'll be surprised at how thin the fabric can be! You'll be able to wear the exact SAME piece for days without smelling. Because wool has incredible properties: it doesn't only keep warm in the winter but also cool in the summer and the less you wash it, the better it is.
    I have experienced wool nappy covers for my baby - to be combined with cloth nappies of course - because wool is also naturally waterproof thanks to lanolin (but I wouldn't be surprised if you are already aware of it, and sorry if that's the case!.. since you're also using clothes diapers). I can use the same cover for over a month without smelling wee, just hang it to aerate a bit and then it is good to use again. So same goes with sweat!
    No creasing, dries super fast. And super comfy (can work with regular wool, merino wool or even wool and silk)
    The only downside I would say is that you want to hand-wash it (or put it in the washer using a wool program) to preserve the fibers, but as I said, you really don't have to wash it often at all..
    You'll find plenty of videos about it here on RUclips, nomads especially like to use it when they travel so they can pack extra-light :) I am personally planning to test out the brand Green Rose Clothes available on their own website or on Etsy, certified, made and own by a small family business in Lithuania, and really affordable. They have a nice selection of basics for both babies- kids and adults.
    And by the way, your capsule wardrobe has always been, and will always be my favorite!! I absolutely love it.

    • @MyGreenCloset
      @MyGreenCloset  3 года назад +1

      I have a video series about fibres and fabrics which talks about all the great properties of wool! :)
      The issue is that I'm careful of where wool comes from and want to ensure animal welfare (because there can be some pretty cruel practices), so the vast majority of my wool pieces are secondhand. There are very few brands with good info about their wool sourcing/standards that I trust to buy new wool from.

    I often put my leggings under my thinner pants to make them warm, that might work for the Matter Prints pants if they won’t cling or static to them! I also have a pair of matter prints pants and that works for them. However, if I’m staying at home I can’t be bothered to layer pants haha!

    I totally understand wanting to be cozy and comfortable. I find I've felt that way over the last year. I've been working from home for 3 years and had a more dressy micro capsule for work, but I've been dressing up less this year.
    I finally started sewing by hand this year too and last month I bought a sewing machine because I love it. Have you ever thought of making some of your clothes for comfort or are you too busy for it?

    This looks great. The biggest change for me is in the pants - only comfy ones and not jeans-style.
    You mentioned a few pieces that you didn't include for a while. I am curious, about how many similar pieces do you have stored away? (E.g. other t-shirts, cardigans etc. that are appropriate for fall/winter) I imagine I would want to include everything that I love. Or do your preferences change more?

    • @MyGreenCloset
      @MyGreenCloset  3 года назад +1

      I don't have many winter clothes currently stored away, basically just jeans and a few dresses and more formal/professional pieces. It's not because I don't love them, just because they don't practically work for my life right now so it doesn't make sense to have them in my capsule wardrobe if I won't be wearing them.
      The items in this capsule that I haven't included in capsules in a while are my handmade items. I do like them, I just don't wear them as often as other items and maybe should pass them on, but they are also extremely hard to get rid of knowing how much work went into them 😅

    • @Fuegomtl
      @Fuegomtl 3 года назад

      @@MyGreenCloset Thank you, that makes sense. I recognize that it is hard to get rid of your own pieces haha, and I am not as good at sewing as you so some of mine are even uncomfortable or ill-fitting, but still a lot of work and love went into it xD

    I’m surprised you don’t have more long sleeve tees. I’m in Alaska so I know cold, even inside, most houses are around 60F and short sleeves are too cold. Personally I don’t like my sweaters on bare skin and with two small kids at home, I frequently have to change my shirt mid-day. Do you have to wash your shirts all the time? What is your secret?

    • @MyGreenCloset
      @MyGreenCloset  3 года назад

      In the winter I basically only wear the tees with the cardigans. Also any undergarments like tanks/camis, tights, or tops which are only worn under other clothes, like sweaters, aren't included in the capsule since they are never seen .
      I do laundry about once a week and easily have enough clothes for a week, maybe things will change when my little one is older, but I haven't been washing any more frequently.
