  • Kamares Aquaduct Larnaca
    The Kamares (meaning 'arches') was built in 1747, was considered to be the "most prominent" water supply ever built in Cyprus. It was Financed by Ebubekir Pasha who was the Ottoman Governor of Larnaca. The aqueduct was in operation until 1939 and consists of 75 arches.
    Total length of 15 km: 8 km underground and 7 km on supporting structures or arches.
    The builder was Kostantinos Christofakis; the work took him three years
