The range, according to tests, is over 800km total. In Japan, they say it is 770km or petrol +107km on battery. There is a test of the range resulting with 810km done (with some km remaining). This car is very interesting and unique. I have no idea why outside Japan it is advertised with 680km total range while the pure petrol range seems to be easily over 700km...
I should test it on a range test
@SDADanCars please do, let's see what results you get. I saw a lot of tests don't use (and dont even mention) that there is a way to control regenerative breaking with steering wheel paddles, which also influences the overall dynamics (at least when I tested pure MX30 BEV it worked that way). What is also worth checking - as we have winter - is whether the car is able to transfer the heat generated by combustion engine to the cabin. I have read that putting the car in charge mode for a while, as soon as you start it, allows to heat up the cabin faster
The japanese version, has another engine as a generator. I believe it's a Skyactive, 2.0.
Love your enthusiasm for the MX30. Car people and Mazda fans will understand this car. It's not perfect but it's not until you see it in the flesh, sit in it and just appreciate how nicely it drives you can overlook certain negatives. I can't think of a nicer little car that blends quirkiness, style and refinement and due to weak resale value it will become a bargain soon enough.
I would like to see a utility vehicle with this setup, U can use the battery in a very narrow discharge range
I’ve been waiting for a detailed English review of this car to compare to my pure EV version. Great job and thank you for doing one. 42400 euros seems pricey though. That converts to over 62000 Canadian dollars. Considering my top GT trim EV cost $39000 CAD I don’t think the R-EV is going to sell well without incentives. I understand it solves the range issue but for $23000 difference in price I could get a decent used hybrid and have 2 cars.
Yes is hard to say … maybe there in Canada prices will be better …Thanks for feedback 🙏👍
cool work, thanks for your time
Thanks 🙏
well, mazda fixed their weird mx30 model with this R EV facelift to be at least acceptable offering. and with this new wheels it looks even better.
US MX-30 owner perspective;
So it seems like it’s true that this car was initially designed to have an engine and Mazda decided to sell it first without it (my EV has has gaps under the hood everywhere, like it’s missing something, but enough piping to put the Titanic to shame).
It was only sold in California so it was clearly a compliance car here.
Still the R-EV model costs too much. It would have a difficult time competing with the Tesla 3 and Y which have had price cuts in the last year and have more cabin space.
To open rear doors you need to open the front doors first? Does it have a wireless charging? By the way you were very detailed in this review 👍👍👍
Thanks my friend 🙏👍Yea have wireless charging and yea you have to open the front door 😁
@@SDADanCars although I love this car a lot the way the rear doors are opened it too much work.
Any updtes on the horizon for 2025? The controls look so 2021...like the original MX-30 EV. Din pacate.....
why the small battery
why is this engine not in the rear with rear wheel drive so you dont hear it
yes why is this not a bmw i3 rex which is so much better
You did not mention the fact that the rotary in this car is known as a "work engine", where the engine has been heavily optimised to only run at one speed. You also did not mention that there is no gearbox, no drive shafts, no differentials, and no clutch on the engine. That makes it incredibly light, and very simple indeed.
By far the best way to implement a hybrid car!
Bring on the Icon SP!
6:15 trying to understand what 1l per 100 kms actually means?
Dan, do you know the city/highway/combined MPG?
Not sure but it should be around 7,8 litera
Honestly says Dan I like you very much
this car is for me, Im 1.70.
👍
I love this! Do you think it will be coming to the United States?
I think this system will come for sure but not sure on what Mazda model 😁 i think they will improve it in time
Mazda is not bringing this car to the North American market unfortunately. The pure EV which I have has been discontinued in the US and it’s not on Mazda Canada’s order book for 2024 either. Not many MX-30s were sold in North America so I think it’s Euro/Asia market car now.
@@deanbaggs disappointing
Honestly say Dan I like you very much
👍😁
I think you are very understand the car
😁👍
The "Freestyle" doors is a dealbreaker for many, really wish they made it with normal doors.
I think we have same things you like cars I like cars too
You upload another new video
Yea 😁👍
You look good here Dan. _Alv
Thanks 🙏🤗
