My mom has always worn hoops, but lately, she hasn't worn any, 'cause with age now she dislikes stuff in her ears. She gifted me her everyday pair of hoop earrings, and I am wearing them daily. I feel very proud of them, and often feel Hannesque when wearing them
I feel like the b roll footage of you wearing the earrings felt like a trip down memory lane after you had described in detail your attachment to each of these pairs of earrings. I could see the emotion you felt wearing each pair. In a complicated world it was just…nice.
Your earrings collection reminded me so much of things my Grandmother would have loved. Her one year death anniversary just past so this was a surprisingly emotional video for me. On a less sad note, I used my inner Hannah with some new earrings. i loved the way they looked but they weren't comfortable and the posts were too long and poky and I knew I wouldn't wear them they way I wanted to wear them. So I sent them back and was really proud of myself
I just finished re-watching your no buy year playlist to brace myself for my own no-buy (started 8/6 and goes until student loan deferment ends, which is currently 1/31) and I just wanted to say how cool it was to see you change over that year! I was watching your January/February videos and kept thinking oop, that's not something she'd ever say now. It was encouraging to see all of that positive change, and I definitely needed your tough love pep talks about just choosing to do the thing.
This was soooo much fun! I actually jumped up and went through my own collection while watching, cleaning and sorting along and it left me so happy about my stash! I loved seeing you smiling in this adorable, girly "pleased-with-myself" kind of way in the montage
Literally hopping up and down in my bed when I saw this video. I love your decluttering videos and for some reason I just live when you talk about your personal style / Vision 😍
I work at a J Crew outlet and I will say their earrings always feel very extravagant. Even for a factory store. I've never known how to wear them so I've never purchased them but I see how special they are. I do love seeing people's earrings collections though-- they always feel so intimate and special, and people who love to wear earrings the most always describe their specific special experience with them. Whether that be in acquiring them or how it makes them feel, etc. Really nice video and helped soothe some anxiety I've been having
A lot of my jewelry were birthday gifts or from grandmothers, so yeah I will always keep them for sentimental value. The other jewelry that are not sentimental then they get declutter every couple years…
I love earrings so much! I collect them and cherish them. I also have over 12 ear piercings. I don’t like wearing any other type of jewelry so I just decorate my ears. I store them all in a plastic container meant to store fishing hooks/baits.
This felt like visiting friends, being a subscriber, there were only a few that I had not seen before. It makes me sad about the challenges with the Ana Luisa earrings and I hear exactly what you are saying about discomfort with too long of posts and other design elements. I hope that you have provided them with some feedback to help them to continue providing great jewelry. I do agree about the "shepherd hook" style, the beautiful JCrew jeweled earrings....not sure is if you love them enough to make them a broach. Our ear lobes are an interesting body part...my 64 year old lobes have become less forgiving with certain types of earrings. Love this content Hannah!
Such a beautiful video.....an absolute pleasure to watch....I love how you really consider and study each individual pair of earrings. It's so inspiring to me. Makes my want to go through my jewellery collection and give it some love and appreciation. The ratings your grandmother gifted you are so stunning and special!
I just organized my earring collection and I am commenting a year late but I just adore you so I watch old and new videos. Anyway, you definitely introduced me to some new designers 😊I think my favorite was the pear ones from wolf and moon, they are carved with so much movement and shape even though the earring itself is stationary. I really like them
Might be an odd thing to say but when I see someone wearing beautiful or fun earrings it brightens my day. Same for wearing them myself. Maybe because they are so close to our face & we can't help but to notice them. You look absolutely stunning in those wedding earrings. I hope to see this beautiful collection more often. I love wearing statement earrings
I loved the closed back earrings from when you danced more often. I had a vintage looking pair like those but purple whe I was dancing 3-6 days/week. Lovely. don’t replace the wires. Those have served their purpose. Earrings for your wedding can be balanced with the right type of backing.
I don't own any earrings because they don't suit me and they also bug me to wear, but this is a really fun video idea and I am excited to watch it all!
I absolutely loved this video and the earrings you have are so special and especially liked the movement earrings and some of the older ones are just fabulous. I did like the J Crew ones. Your wedding collection are just perfect. Thank you. Most organized earring collection I have ever seen. 👏🏻👏🏻
this was so much fun to watch! I would not bother with replacing the hooks on those earrings, you have so many beautiful ones you love more as is. have to go now, will try on all my earrings :D
I need to get more into earrings that aren't just studs. Years ago on some talk show, I think I got a complex because my face is long and the show said to not wear long earrings with a long face. Your video is really inspiring. 🌻🌻
I don't know how I missed this video when it was new, but it was such a pleasure to watch today! I frequently have a similar problem with studs' posts being too long and pokey, so I came up with a solution. I go through phases with jewelry design so I have two tools on hand that fix the issue: wire snips and (what I believe is called) a cup burr. Snip the posts to the desired length then file the cut end using the cup burr for a smooth rounded end. Using a very light touch with the snips you can add back the ridge that keeps the earring back in place when worn. Additionally, a jeweler's file can smooth ridges in the Anna Louisa hoops. Just thought I'd share. Thank you for doing what you do!!!
I always get compliments on my pear earrings that I discovered the first time you talked about them on your channel. I like the dangly green ones on you they look like carnival glass
LOVE the red/blue polka dot pair!!! In the audio world we use red and blue to code for right ear/left ear so to me those earrings are super nerdy and awesome! Wish they were still available
Omg those klimt earrings with the 3D eye I LiVe. Also clicking through to wolf and moon - d a n g e r. Their giant iris earrings are so so so beautiful. i'm not really wearing earrings right now but thank u for reminding me of my love for a costume earring
You can change out ear wires for the dangly earrings on the chopping block with a pack of ear wires and and some pliers. I’m not sure how many that would help, but wanted to mention it as an option. I always swap the ear wires for surgical steel ones on all my earrings due to allergies.
I only wear wire earrings because the post type of earrings pinch my ears. But I do sometimes change out cheap wires for nicer ones. I'm not at all bothered by the look of the wire as long as it matches the earring and functions properly. But it's disappointing how often people will hand-craft a beautiful earring and then ruin it with a cheap ugly wire, or a wire that doesn't allow the earring to hang properly.
I've watched this like 5 times. Most of what I own are studs. I have some hooks but I tend to forget to wear earrings so hooks aren't my fist choice when I go to push a stud through my ear hole. I have really sensitive ears so I can't do most costume jewelry. Amanda from makeup just for fun makes jewelry with silver hooks though which makes me very happy.
Hi there Hannah, I am in the middle of my big life-altering Konmari declutter/move back to college, and I keep thinking of your and Kimberly Clark's philosophies on stuff and what to keep. I think you also did the Konmari method? Either way, I love seeing how your philosophies have shaped your spaces and how you interact with stuff. Since both of y'all are artists (me too), I understand the need to balance keeping items "just in case"/for art projects vs. whether they spark joy. It's been a ride. Just wanted to express that before I watch you edit your earring collection. Okay, back to the video! 😊
I never cared about earrings (only wore studs that stay for years in my ears), until I watch you lol. Now I'm slowly working to grow my statement earrings collection. These are exquisite, Hannah.
For the asymmetrical Ana Luisa hoops, would adding some of those silicone backings over the post help? I always have a few of those sitting around my jewelry drawer. Such a shame because they’re so cool!
I used to wear earrings every other day because anymore and my ears would get allergic reactions. I am severely limited by metal allergies for what I can wear and for how long. And now I’ve stopped wearing them except for once a week or so because it’s such a hassle to worry about it. I still love them though and love the ones you have! I need to try hoops again though because I used to love them.
my friend had this issue, she solved it by getting good quality mini gold guages she's not allergic to just large enough to put the cheap earring posts through
@@cinmingrl that’s a good idea but I don’t know if it would work for me because even the rest of the earring will touch my ear and cause a reaction. I can’t even do plated gold
I only own a couple pairs of earrings but I just bought a pair off etsy that you showed recently. The little dangly rectangles. I got mine in silver. They're great. Thanks for the rec!
I didn't expect to like the multi-dripping-chain earrings that are on the chopping block, but when I saw them on you they evoked a mental image of jellyfish tentacles as they dangle to your shoulder and splay out... and I kinda loved it! It's also interesting to hear your thoughts and preferences on earring functionality and form from a making point of view (I studied jewellery and itching to get back to the bench).
I love you’re unique earrings! I was so thrilled to see the wolf and moon earrings, I have the mini lemon ones and they are beautiful and so well made😊
Completely agree about the non round earing post being uncomfortable. I have one pair of 14k gold hoops that have that type of post and I cannot stand to wear them. They were a birthday gift from bf so I have been unable to bring myself to sell them. Maybe it's time.
Those tia medium hoops are my second most worn earrings and I have beautiful wooden art deco studs from wolf and moon 😊 I may or may not have been influenced haha Love my earrings collection so much! I'd wear a lot of what you wear too
I vote for replacing the ear wires in those pairs. So funny you mentioned disliking them-after years of wearing earrings I also decided I don't like ear wires for the exact reasons you describe (the wires feel separate-not part of the whole look of the earrings).
This reminds me I need to do a serious jewelry declutter... I still have things from early high school... Also are you wearing anything on your nails? I can't tell if anything is there or not and I am on the hunt for something that'll give me that vibe. Love the video btw!
Thank you SO much for introducing me to Wolf and Moon!! I love the aesthetic and there are so many pieces in their collection that are giving me big heart eyes. I have extremely sensitive ears though, so I'm wondering if you or anyone has any insight as to how the Wolf and Moon earrings cooperate with ear lobes that don't tolerate many metals?
All of your earrings are beautiful! When you were describing your new preference for earrings, I couldn’t help but think of a brand I really love called Maria-Black. Her pieces all have very interesting structural elements and I think you would really like them! If you’re not aware of the brand you really should check it out the next time your soul burns for a new pair of structurally titillating earrings. :)
I think I'm difficult with earrings, my lobe is thicker than most, I also have 7 holes in my left ear and 2 on my right, so usually I wear studs and 1 pair if actual earrings. Your collection is very interesting.
I never really thought of second hand earrings even though most of my clothes are. That might work for me.🤔 I bought a couple pairs from Ana Luisa, but I don't love how the posts feel and they seem to tarnish and chip too quickly for my liking.
This is super creepy but you have a BEAUTIFUL 3/4 silhouette! While you were modeling all I could think about was drawing you, with your hair upswept, dangling jewels, and proud smile!
I just bought the large pair earrings last night after seeing them on your channel. They are discontinuing them so i couldn't wait until the holidays as i had hoped, but I'm still happy for my purchace so im guessing it was a good choice.

You should try earring stickers! You stick them in before you poke the earring through and it holds them up. Makes them more comfy
I never notice wha you were saying about the hook earrings, but now I can’t unsee it!
I enjoyed this video so much, I'm anxiously awaiting the result of a COVID test right now & this helped me stay calm

you could attach those beautiful bejeweled earring to a hair clip and wear them like that!!
