It seems as if heimdall has the powers of the soul stone because he can see trillions of souls behind galaxys. Also his eyes have the colour of the soul stone and he can comunicate with almost every soul from a far.

Honestly I think it is very possible that he is of the few people to have been given powers by the Infinity Stones, like Wanda, Captain Marvel or Quicksilver. These powers mostly allign with the power of the stones, well except for Quicksilver.

The power of the bifrost is such a cool ass thing... No other civilization in the MCU has this much range in exercising power like what the bifrost gives the asgardians...
Being able to bring armies across the universe in seconds.... Even able to travel to infinity and beyond.... marvelous
It would seem that the bifrost, like thor's hammer, is merely a device for channeling a power. We see Heimdall in his final moments asking the allfathers for one final use of the dark magics to transport Banner to Earth to warn the planet what is coming and he touches the sword and uses his hand to point it at Banner. What an absolute chad to use the last of his strength getting Banner out of there knowing they'd kill him for it. We also hear in an earlier film Loki tell Thor that Odin must have used his vast reserve of dark magics to get Thor to Earth when the bifrost was out of commission after being destroyed.

Why are people complaining about the race and appearance of a FICTIONAL character? This version of Heimdall was great and Idris Elba nailed it as always.

As much as I love heimdall, I’d be lying if I were to say I don’t feel like Idris Elba’s talents are wasted with such a role when he’d be one hell of a more popular and powerful marvel hero. Imagine Idris as Blue Marvel, he’d be perfect and bring a badassery to introduce such a powerful character yet not known by many

So I’m rewatching the Thor movies and it’s clear that heimdal powered are gifted by the soul stone. He even has a replica on his chest centered in n the world tree my guess is that Odin made lesser copies of the stones by evidence of his trophy room in three when hela calls items fake

In Ragnarok during the theater of Loki's death when he was disguised as Odin Thor arrived and said that he had been traveling around the realms and saw enemies plotting against Asgard while he sat there eating grapes. So he couldn't have needed the bifrost at this point.

Idris was an inspiring choice as this character. But since they race-swapped Heimdall, they should've done the same for Sif and make her his sister like in the comics. Or just say they had different mothers, could be a reference to Heimdall being the son of nine mothers. Would've added needed depth to these characters.
