Frisian here. Very interesting to find something on Theodism. It's very close to my heart. As a solitary practitioner of my ancient ancestral lines, Old Frisian and OldNorse lore connect me to land and ancestors in a fluent way. Interesting to see how others revive what they perceive of the old ways of spirituality and connecting. Wês du hiel!

While I have lost touch with them, there used to be a tribe called Axenthof Theod that used Frisian language and focus in their practice. Leader was Gerd when I knew them, hope you can find them and connect. They were great guys!

I know nothing about these Neo-pagan movements. Do practitioners tend to adopt these beliefs and practices out of genuine faith? Or, is it more a set of cultural activities one engages in to eg connect with the ethnic heritage, but not something they actually believe in?

Yes, they typically do. It's a spiritual journey while learning more about how they can "reconstruct" the pre-christian religion as authentically as possible.

In my personal journey, it is a combination of the two. Yes, I believe in the gods, and I chose this to connect with my anglo-saxon roots

Etnocentrismo positivo y negativo, comunidades, tabús religiosos, jerarquías, celebraciones ritualisticas, lenguas antiguas y muertas para las litúrgias. Estan poniendo juntos todos los atributos que vuelven prosperas y exitosas a las religiones, me preguntó si tienen alguna idea de lo que están construyendo. Espero que este movimiento cesca en las próximas décadas y siglos, pues en esta nueva era axial la gente busca nuevas respuestas que ya no encuentran en las religiones hegemónicas.
