How has the catch can been working? Do you see it collecting much oil? Thanks for the video

I just sold the car, but it worked very well, not much oil collected, but i felt better having it

Is it worth it to have a catch can if you're not planning to mod the car beyond an air intake?

      @@GearheadDaily ,
How much oil do you find in the catch can after 3 months ?

    • @GearheadDaily
      @GearheadDaily  4 года назад

@@williamhorvat8224 It depends on how hard you drive it. Putting around town? not much.

So from the intake to the catch can and from the catch can to the valley pan correct?

      Sounds right.

Just make sure the intake line goes to the "input" side of the can.

Vented into the atmosphere is better. Catch can will fill up with oil and you're not going to drain it.

Why would you use a catch can that needs long hosing to the catch can? Oil coagulates when cooled in the longer hoses. Need to do your homework.

I guess you should do your homework and talk to Mighty Mouse, its their design but hey, thanks for stopping by.

where to start, came here from vin wiki to check the channel, leaving unimpressed.
1:06 "the pressure really doesn't have anywhere to go" uuuuh, PCV??
1:35 "you know you could just vent all those gasses into the atmosphere" do you mean a road draft tube, pcv venturi to exhaust?
2:50 "wondering why you keep blowing that same seal"
3:08 "especially high pressure, it's going to push it up towards the surface" huuuuh, maybe you should diagram that?
5:25 "so if you do have an over pressurized crankcase situation, so much that it ovewhelmed your system ~ splash onto your windshield"
if you had mentioned intake valve deposits, esp. on direct injection motors, you'd be right on task, but that catch can brings nothing to the table to improve PCV scavenging, or "help any engine breathe better" in fact i'll bet it restricts flow to some degree or another.
i bet it's a joy when you inadvertently forget to empty it and it starts gulping liquid oil into the intake and you get the lovely blue smoke.
seems like you could use some remedial 101 automotive classes, and stop pandering disinformation as a corporate shill.
i've had my L1 since 1996, and no, i'm not smarter then the enginerds building these things.

@@GearheadDaily yeah sit on the side of explain more, because you might say something that someone else didn't think of before and it could help them. That's the only reason I make my videos anyway. I'm not making any money off of them
