    I’ve always loved the look of white letter tires. I don’t understand why tire companies don’t make them in modern tire sizes. I never black out the white letters.

    Just something I find funny nothing to do with the product or video. Tires used to come with white lettering and lines. Drivers used shoe polish and all kinds of things to color the lettering black to match the tires. Now that the whole industry went with black lettering that blends in with the tires there are vinyl lettering and products like this that now make the lettering on the tires white again. We always want what we don’t have.

      That's incorrect. There have always been car people that PREFER white letter tires. Once those went away, it opened a market for those folks so that we could get that classic muscle car look again. If somebody would manufacturer white letter tires in modern tire sizes, I'd be totally down with buying a set...but they don't.

    I don't understand why tire manufactures stopped making white letter tires as an option. Back in the day you were not cool unless you had white lettered tires on your hotrod. I do realize white lettered tires are not for every car/truck but they do look great on certain vehicles. It's matter of preference.

    • @khalidjackson8768

  • @canarybiker1262
    @canarybiker1262 5 лет назад +9

    Well, I actually did 3 sets of tires (so 12 tires) with a single pen. The way I do it is to press the tip until the ink starts actually dripping out and with that I can just tap the latters so the ink can just distribute on its own - needs a bit of practise, but it's much faster and, gives better coverage and a smoother surface.
    Did use different pens (regular tire marking pens) .. sorry to say, but yours are really overprized - not sure if they are any different, but from the video the result looks exactly like mine when I first "painted" it with stroking. No offense.

    • @SteveofArms
      @SteveofArms 5 лет назад +1

      Yes, I ordered the Dykem Brite-Mark medium tip. Used one pen for one set of tires and there's still some paint in there! Worked perfectly. Only $7. He way overprices them because he knows if he puts the word tire in there, others will think it's meant specifically for that went in fact it is not.

    I have noticed that cars look better when their tires are full of snow or dust. I think it is because the lighter colour of the tire makes the wheels look larger and better proportioned.
    I would definitely buy grey/white tires for my car instead of going for way too large rims that ruin the ride comfort.

    Of course it's a Subaru. I'm thinking about picking this up to recolor the "M/T" on my Mickey Thompson slicks. The factory paint always turns brown after a while from the rubber's oils seeping through. I cleaned off the old stuff and was considering leaving them black but that's just not right.

    Hey there, i do quite a bit of offroading and we have to drflate all the way upto 10Psi to keep our 4x4s from getting stuck or bogged down in the soft sand (desert offroading). I want to colour my tyre letters the same way but was wondering if i use plasti dip clear on top of the letters as a protective coat or multiple protective coats for that matter? Should that work or is it just gonna get scrubbed off by all the offroad driving ??

    Can you put tire shine/gel over this?

    • @thebassdefeater
      @thebassdefeater 6 лет назад +3

      No. These pens paint is not the best and the white starts turning brown weeks after application from just brake dust. Ive taken it off and applied it again with 5 coats and used tire shine and 4 days later the paint started turning a chocolate brown color. Id suggests just getting tire lettering that you install over your tire with glue. I know its a little more expensive but if you want the color to last for the life of the tires id spend the extra money.
