    • @JuanderBoyMusic
      @JuanderBoyMusic  Год назад

      Besides the occasional rattling on idle, I was very happy with the bags. Plenty of room, easy open/close and lock system, and like you said, they look good on the dynas. Very practical... Although, I ended up selling them (they hold some value) and getting the Connelly's just for aesthetics, but... I would have gone with LeatherPros if I knew about them first.
      I hope that helps.

    Thanks for the info. I just got my kit and there is no way to install it with the supplied hardware. At least not without having a bolt in your tire or being able to lock it. Kind of ridiculous that they offer a bike specific kit that doesn't have the bolts to fit my bike.

  • @kevinbrown3150
    @kevinbrown3150 4 года назад +1

    Thank you...thank you...thank you! I bought viking bags and the quick disconnect kit and I'm having the hardest time following the installation instructions and terrible video they made. Plus, as you mentioned, the bolts supplied with the kit are way to long. I chatted with Viking support and told him I have a 2010 Dyna Super Glide Custom and the bolts they gave are wrong. The moron tells me that its not compatible with the super glide custom, only the super glide. Seriously?!?! It's the same bike with a few extra options. He obviously has no clue about Harleys. He proceeded to say "I'm sorry for any inconvenience". Inconvenience? How about supplying the right hardware for the kit! For $450 (bags and quick disconnect), I expected better customer service.
    Anyway... did you jack your bike up and remove the bottom shock bolts to drop the swing arm in order to remove the super long turn signal bolt?

    • @JuanderBoyMusic
      @JuanderBoyMusic  4 года назад

      @@JuanderBoyMusic I installed the turn signal kit that came with the bags. It looked terrible! I can't believe they even bother giving it away. I ordered the Easy Brackets Turn Signal Relocation Kit from JP Cycles. Looks so much better! In regards to the bolt that I mentioned in my original post, it's the original turn signal bolt that I couldn't remove because it hit the tire. To remedy the issue, I cut off the bolt with big bolt cutters.

    Hi JuanderBoy - can you tell me where you got the special washer to cover where the turn signals were? I have used the HD relocation kit and now have an ugly space. Your video is really good. It made the process very easy. I had to use one of the supplied spacers on the bolt closest to the indicators, in order for the quick disconnect system to fit easier. Thanks Aidan

      Mr A McCanny thanks for the feedback Aidan, I really appreciate it. I got those washers at the local HD dealer. If I remember correctly they came with the relocation kit. Like I said in the video I disregarded the kit that comes with the bags in used and original Harley-Davidson relocation kit. I am pretty sure they sell them separate though.

      Gordon Steel Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad the video helped.
      The bags will look great on a Fat Boy. The look on the dyna didn't convince me 100% so I ended up switching to Conely's Retro Bags. What a nightmare that was, they hit the frame and it took a few months to get them to work. I should've gone with LeatherPro.
      As far a quality and performance I doubt you're gonna get a better bang for your buck than with Vikings Bags. Besides the occasional rattling at idle because of the quick release system they held up just fine.
      What I like the most besides the size was how easy it was to get things in and out. Oh, and their customer service is second to none.
