Watched it live. It was intense match. Both played amazing. Defeat win defeat was the format. I was rooting for Arjun. Congratulations Pragg. Defeat Abasov in final.
Pawn d5 from pragg in game 1 was given as a mistake by the computer but Peter Leko essentially told the computer to shut up cause it doesn't know human chess and that it was actually a brilliant try from Pragg to give him some fighting chance in dead lost game. And voila, it did indeed help him win.
@@curious_banda true, players aren't engines. If you don't give your opponent a chance to make a mistake in a dead lost situation, you can never win 😊
The youngest player to qualify for the Candidates is Carlsen, he did that in an event (World Cup 2005) that started when he was 14 years old, even though he had turned 15 when it finished. Fischer was half a year older when he qualified through the Interzonal in 1958.
I just looked up that tournament to see how it went when Magnus Carlsen was 14 years old. He finished in 10th place. But the Candidates Tournament leading up to World Chess Championship 2007 was unusual. The top 10 finishers of the World Cup qualified, along with 2004 FIDE World Champion and five highest players by ratings points.
@@jefflittle8913 No even if Pragg loses to Fabi, as revealed by Magnus yesterday, all Semi Finalist have already qualified. I was just saying there is a very high chance that Gukesh will also qualify as he is just 0.5 points behind Anish at second place in FIDE circuit and he is improving everyday. So I feel he might qualify this year and that would make him the 3rd youngest before the Candidate tournament start. But let's wait and see.
Awesome games!! 🎉 I think Pragg has more chances of defeating Magnus compared to Arjun who's fallen multiple times against Magnus. These really are the future of chess
Huge fan of the amazing twist halfway through the video where you tell us that b4 isnt the winning move...only to then reveal that it actually is winning, just in a different order. 😂 Agadmator never disappoints
Good Luck to both players in future matches what a Great friendship they have must be trying at times considering the competition between the two of them
7 decisive games with only 2 draws . Pragg was the better player but only by a whisker . Magnificent performance by both Pragg and Arjun but Pragg makes history as the second Indian to qualify for the candidates after Anand (if Magnus declines to play in candidates ) .
It would be nice to make a monthly video where you inform about the chess news, upcoming tournaments, and about chess ratings of the top players how much they changed rised or dropped.
People tend to forget Fabiano was easily second best player in world for years and at one point was so strong even Magnus stated he would not have been surprised if he had lost to Fabi in the WCC. I think if money is on the line you go for Magnus and Fabi.
We only got two matches today, but both of them were absolutely insane. Salimova played 3 brilliancies in a row, sacrificed almost every piece she had, and checkmated Anna. I hope you cover that game as well.
Nerve wrecking Finish, No denying that. This is Pragg's Time. ( even after lost 30 seconds due to delay in Sudden Death. Time is on Pragg's side ). Pragg's The ONE. ( Shout out to Arjun, what a fight)
@@kbps475 True. Magnus Carlsen also apparently said he won't be playing in the Candidates under current rules, so that means Pragg, Caruana and Abasov are all in the Candidates along with Nepo.

I just hope Pragg is not mentally drained for Caruana game tomorrow, its not easy to beat your best mate and buddy in chess in such a marathon match, then play one of the best chess opening expert Fabi. Good luck Pragg

I have a question as we are in final 4s now one of them being Magnus , now if he doesn't want to play the next cycle of candidates tournament then can we assume that praggu , abosav and caruana are the first contenders for upcoming candidates if that's so then it's a win win situation for first timers like praggu and abosav ❤
I just hate the phrase “fall seven times, get up eight” because you have to fall down eight times first in order to get up eight times😂 I just love to see Pragg play so well tho, he is amazing player!
I was thinking about why Pragg wasted 30s. These guys seems very ethical, and if they are friends maybe he concluded that since he has white in sudden death, he can waste a little bit of clock to make it more even?
