I got the feel for one today at my local tackle and it’s just quality you have to feel. Even the sound of the clicker have this smoothness to it. Extremely well engineered. Totally worth the money, and videos don’t do it justice. What an amazing machine👍🏻
Hey Josh-I'm very interested in this reel. I'm wondering what you'd recommend for a rod to match with it. I'll be fishing offshore on a Sea Doo Fish Pro, and in the Columbia Gorge for oversized sturgeon. Any help would be appreciated.
It won’t click when you reel in if you turn it off, Josh literally showed how to use the on/off switch for the clicker, this is a multi-application reel which can be used for bait and wait, trolling, drifting baits, among other uses where a clicker is mandatory, if you don’t need the clicker for the style of fishing you’re doing, you just turn it off with the switch in the sideplate
For the people complaining about the price, some people want function AND form while working not just having a tool that does the job.. you probably complain about Milwaukee tools being expensive too?
What # braid fits on this? What size fish should you target with this reel? Should this reel be used for jigging? Live bait application? Trolling? Love the reel but a lot of questions usually answered left unanswered here.
Does daiwa solve the lever problem that old daiwa LD2 have like video by Alan Tani posted on RUclips...because i also have the same problem like that...lever free but the drag still on
Hi josh if you have to choose between the talica or this daiwa saltiga which one would you choose? Btw nice vid as always. Shot and informative. Keep up the good work cheers.
Talica all the way much lighter but I do own three of these saltiga and they are great the talica is just more sport car like while this is more of a truck.
Talica was designed 10 years ago to target large yellowfin, the new saltiga is much more west coast minded in its design and has Stainless gears, the talica had brass which will require replacements. The talicas frame and coating are shit, the coating wont last more than a year and the frame will actually start to corrode. The saltigas quality is far superior, its a no brainer.
Jigging master power spell all the way for me Bought my fist one from Kilsong/jignpop About 10yrs ago and I was sold If I’m gonna spend that kind of money I’m gonna go with a proven quality reel no matter where it’s made
You obviously don't know anything about good quality fishing reels and or tackle. Penn International VISX reels are good reels but there are better reels out there, and Okuma makaira reels are really just knock-offs of penn internationals. Also, this new daiwa reel in the video isn't like a penn or a makaira, so saying that it would be out-classed by them is a stupid thing to say. Do some research before you say that a penn or a makaira will out class a reel, and with a price tag at $700, its going to be a quality reel that will last you a long time.
@@CDC23551 I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. The VISX is an amazing reel as is the Makaira. However, the Mak came out way before the VISX. The Mak was much better than the VSX when the Mak came out and by no means a knock. But since then (2011 vs 2018) the VISX has caught up to the Mak. The Daiwa looks amazing and I look forward to playing with it. However, 700 bills is a tough pill to swallow when there are other reels in that class that are cheaper and proven.
@@IDADDYIproductions By class I mean line class and purpose of use. Side note, Mercedes makes shit vehicles these days and definitely not something I would try to do any serious work with. Spending more is always a good thing.

What a work of art ❤️
I was drooling until I heard 700 bills. Ouch, that's going to be a tough one.
Big boy toys
Thank you, thank you, thank you Daiwa!! Great vid Josh!! I'ma getting some😃🤙
Can you make a video of the 50 2 speed size please, or if you can tell me if the 50 is wider
I just got saltiga 20000h spinning. But I really like this one a lot.
Josh has forced me to put this on my shortlist for an Alaska halibut reel for sure.
Badass tuna reel

Can somebody please explain to me the point of having a clicker? Been wondering this for years.
It's a line out alarm. So if you are deadsticking for example there will be an audible noise when the fish takes your line.
@@jandhtackle oh so its basically kind of a bait runner? why click when u are reeling tho?

How about you this reel vs talica or tiagra?
U mind as well get an electric reel for that price
how does this compare to the Avet hxw 5/2 Raptor at half the price? Whats the warranty?
Avet HXW 5/2 Raptor is more than 1/2 the price
A little out of my league but what a beautiful reel!
I think I might get one.
What talica size is similar to that 55
looking at line capacity its looking like around a 20 size
20

For $700sh....my money goes to Made in USA 🇺🇸 Accurate or Penn Torque!
Cool.
Daiwa is better.
penn reels arent USA only accurate
Fk. I love it
You could put that handle knob in a 50cal sniper rifle and take trump out 😁
700!! yea right! penn visx or a makaira will out class that reel no problem! I wouldn't even stock that reel.
