Shinn could've been written better, to be sure (it's all thanks to one of the writers leaving the staff over some disagreement back then). He also could've remained the central protagonist of SEED Destiny, instead of Kira stealing the spotlight later on. I wish that Cagalli wasn't shafted, either. Her character arc deserved far better, considering her & Lacus were working toward peace. Heck, even *Durandal's* "turn" into the final villain of the show felt contrived.
