am turning 35 years old am happy to know it is preferred to start PhD around 30 now 5 years more, but since no age limit and now having masters degree i will start very soon
Good luck! start by searching for a good supervisor in your domain :)
I'm turning 30 at the end of the year, and I worked 5 years in Biotech after my Master's. Indeed, I'm glad to know what I know now from industry, BUT MAN, going from where the money is (industry), back to academic labs, is not that fun at all! Old equipment, low quality control, no SOPs,... Still, the academic research freedom is the major upside of course!
Thanks much Dr. I will never let you down doctor. I will work hard and I will inform you all steps. May our God bless you
Great! I will be looking forward to hearing the good news from you.
Sir, remove that background music. Can't even hear your voice because of that background music.
Next time 😉
Hello, this was a very useful video. Thank you so much from India :)
You are welcome
Very helpful video, thank you!
I'm about to finish my music-oriented business degree but am really inclined into pursuing a PhD in philosophy of mind. To conduct research in consciousness I'm assuming I would need to study neuroscience? I know it is too early to decide the subject of the research, but do you have any advice on that? I am struggling to understand what the best area of study is for me to do experiments and write about the mind, state of consciousness and/or consciousness-altering substances, etc.
Choosing the right subject for your PhD thesis will involve many factors: the state of science, the available supervisors, the research funds, the nearby universities and others. So, your first step is to find a supervisor. Search for the universities that have phycology/neuroscience departments. Then find out which of them have PhD program in similar subject. Then get in contact with the PhD office or with the associated PhD supervisor. The supervisor will tell you exactly what subjects are "on fire" nowadays. However, bear in mind that you will have to pass an acceptance exam. So, yes you have to have a decent background on the subject. You can use your previous studies as a start point. For example, you can study the influence of music on the state of mind and on buyer decision. This, as you know, involves business, music and psychology. I think reading books like: Influence and Pre-Suasion (by R.B. Cialdini) can help. Good luck!
@@sharkasianlion thank you so much, this is extremely helpful!
I'm 22 years old but typically planning to be a PHD
That's great! Go ahead and good luck. You can start by learning researching methodology.
Thank you for briefing me about the logically methods 😊
Work experience is very beneficial
أتمنى أن يكون هناك مزيد من التوضيحات
Thank you. very useful video
谢谢
I'm supposed to be writing my research paper...why am I HERE?!?! lmao, thanks for the 7:35 minutes and seconds of time to relax and think about education.
You are welcome! I hope you've written your research paper :-P
I like to know environmental action and reaction.so Air is one of them.so i want to prove air has that types of chamicals which can be harmful for human and environmental related everythings.
Dr.Eng. Yahia Zakaria :p help me write it! Lmao! XD
You made me confused man
@Panda Eyes: Next video will be about the research paper
Thq brohh
I got the PhD in 2007
Hey, great quality video, love the music choice!! Can I ask for some advice on Vlogging for PhDs? I'm starting a channel and am wondering if you have any tips? Thanks a million!!
Thank you! I am not expert in Vlogging. However, I think you should bear in mind that your audience will be 25 years old and more. At the same time, PhDs tend to have a kind of monotone life. So introducing a touch of color in their life will be appreciated. Good luck!
P.S. Feel free to link my videos on your channel if you need to.
@@sharkasianlion well said my friend, I'll try and implement some colour and check out more of your stuff! You're a gentleman!
Hi Dr. I am now at cross roads of whether to continue on to a PhD or stop and work as the pay for many lecturers are low with high workload. I would like to be paid a reasonable amount while doing my PhD as many lecturers and research assistants are paid less than 2000 usually 1500 which many degree holders are paid minimum 2300. I am finishing up my Masters now but I am afraid I won’t get lecture jobs in the future as the competition is high or even getting a lecture job the pay is little. I love being in academia and doing research but am afraid that the ends do not justify the means as getting a PhD and going into academia you will be paid the salary even lower of degree holder.
I am not sure what to do but for now I have started applying for jobs in academia and industry research positions. I would love to continue on and do a PhD as I love the ability to use my research skills and gain new information but don’t want to be labeled the poor academic. Many people I have spoken to encouraged me to continue as well as I am 27 now and know there is a time limit in scholarships but are idealistic when it comes to the job market and are just passionate about their research without considering the pay.
I really need your advice Dr. what should I do?
Hello DaAsocialNinja,
Based on your description above, I would recomand to search for the job with the higher salary. In your case, working as a lecturer will not lead you to financial freedom. However, in some countries working in the academic domain is very rewarding and has many advantages, like flexible working hours, long paid vacation, staying up-to-date with recent discoveries, and adding new ones under your name. So, you may accept 2000 in academia rather than 2300 out of it if you have these advantages. You could also check other options like working abroad or obtaining a scholarship.
Good luck!
@@sharkasianlion Thank you for your fast response Dr. I appreciate your advice at the moment I won't be rushing into a PhD as the boarders of my country are still closed and will try and gain industry experience first.
I have just applied for five UK universities this year and the result was rejection for my research proposal was not that good. Is there a reason that I can work on to develop my work?
I am sorry to hear that. Anyway, you should not let that stop you. First of all, you should figure out the real reason for rejecting your proposal. ("Not that good" is very vague foggy reason).
Then find out what research the university wants. Third, make sure that there is a professor specialized in the domain you are proposing to study (And get in contact with him).
From my experience, the main reason for rejection is that the university does not have the required means to accomplish the research (laboratories, professors in the research domain, budget, research base, etc.).
Great....
I'm 18 now. I'll do PhD in the future.
Can I write about Manipulation ?
It is too early to decide what you will write about, because you have to check after faculty what is needed to be studied. You will find out that by asking: what the market needs and what the univesities are encouraging. Moreover, in order to write a PhD thesis about something, you need to know its field very well. For example, writing about manipulation could require knowing fields like: Economics, sociology, psychology and others. So to answer your question, you can write about manipulation if you want, but wait to finish university and ask if you still want to do that. (Write me back when you decide ;) )
Dr, am happy for your comments, am having masters in environmental studies if your can comment for my future it will help me. please help me for scholarship

I have got JRF in commerce. How should i find my area of interest. Where should i start from if my interrst is in finance and consumer behaviour?
Thanks sir for this videos nd sir I want to do PhD in Canada I'm from india I'm master degree holder in political science could you suggest me what should I do to get admitted there for phd
Hello Paramjit,
First of all, you need to move quickly. Because, as to my knowledge, most PhD programs starts in October.
Now If you don't mind paying for the PhD program, you will find many opportunities easily. Just search something like: Find A PhD, Graduate Positions, etc. Or you can find all the universities which have your specialty, enter their websites, go to Post graduate or PhD section, then apply or send them an e-mail. The Fees usually depend on the credit points. So a program with more points will be generally more expensive.
Your better option is to find a scholarship or a sponsored PhD program. This is more difficult but not impossible. You should meet, in this case, more restricted (tough) conditions. Try to search something like: Post graduate Scholarship, Phd scholarship, etc. Sometimes there are exchange programs agreement between universities or even governments from different countries. Check in your country if they have such thing and apply in your country. Once you win the exchange position, you will have all the scholarship privileges and travel for study.
For both cases you need to prepare your documents (High school and faculty diplomas), CV, research proposal and other papers. Those should be translated into the country's official language (I think both English and French are accepted in Canada). Once a supervisor is found for you (sometimes the university will find one for you, sometimes you need to find him and have his approval to supervise you) and all your documents are completed, you will receive an acceptance letter. This 'letter of acceptance' will help you to get a student visa (if it is needed) and will be used later for your registration in the PhD program.
Hurry up and good luck!

Does it need TWO recognized research papers to get in a programme???
Or to finish PhD?
You need two to finish. I mean you need at least two internationally published research papers to receive the PhD title. Some universities request more, but two is the minimum.
To inter the PhD program, you need to make a proposal, but it doesn't need to be published.
Can you please make a video on how to get enrolled in a PhD program??
One more thing that, many renowned universities (like MIT) doesn't offer a MS on CSE .....
But offers PhD !!......How is CSE topic different from others?
What are the criterias to get enrolled?
Just now realized , A PhD answered to my question !!
Thanks for spending time on me.
Hi, l will do phd then do I any government job any country?
Usually government jobs are exclusive for citizens of the same country. However, you may find jobs in public-owned institutions (like universities) in other than your citizenship country. Phd subject is most of the times chosen based on the required job. So it is difficult to find a job with a PhD if you didn't choose the appropriate subject.
How to do part time PhD in abroad?
Regarding the program, each university has it own policy. There are three types: full time, part time and from distance (without being present). You need to talk (via e-mail maybe) with the university's office of PhD students to know if they have such programs. Usually, some specialties cannot have from-distance programs, such as: engineering, medicine, chemistry, etc, because you need to perform some experiments.
Am doing PhD for a name sake Dr. SATISH KUMAR
I want to do PhD in German University......I completed my Masters in VLSI... But I want to do PhD in signal processing.... how can I apply from India...
These are some useful links you can start with:
1- www.findaphd.com/study-abroad/europe/phd-study-in-germany.aspx
2- www.studying-in-germany.org/
Now your first task in order to achieve a PhD is to make a research about "PhD in Germany". And be patient because it will take a while until you arrive in Germany.
Some tips: 1- Try to find a scholarship; 2- Get some courses in German language; 3- Check DAAD (www.daad.de/en/) for your country (India). Good luck!
i want to do structured phd ..is writting thesis and research paper is necessary??and what is the procedure of doing structured phd also i will get my marksheet in july but last date of filling application form is april..so without marksheet what to do???
Hello @tech avior,
Yes, absolutely. You ought to publish few research papers and you need to write the Thesis in the end. The difference is that in the structured PhD program the subject of the study (and some of the contents) is already chosen by the supervisor. So you have to study exactly what your supervisor suggests. Regarding your application, I think you can apply without the marksheeet (marks statement), but you have to present it at the registration desk before the registration due date. However, I know that some universities use this marks statement to 'distill' candidates and choose the most appropriate one. Good luck!
To do phd is there any entrance exam
Yes, in most universities there is. It is a kind of acceptance exam. It usually includes written test and an interview with a special commission (a group of professors) with 3 to 5 members.
There is a test when you want to start a master degree program, too.

what do u called a doctor that do a research to find unknown cancer or etc? is it a scientist?
A scientist or a researcher
Can i do it on my own without an University as Im don't have a degree?
Negative! Even if you succeed to write a stunning thesis, you still need a university to give you the degree
Dr.Eng. Yahia Zakaria okay! Thanks :)
Sir,is it compulsory to pass net or jrf to get admid for phd?
As far as I know, this test is mandatory only for academic positions (professor, assistance) in the indian universities which belong to the government. For Phd, it depends on the policy of the university, but it is rarely required .
Sir how many minimum rupees for phd programe
shreya gupta
It depends on the PhD program. If you find a scholarship, it will cost you 0€.
no jobs.....no jobs
