  • I cover mainly the multi bug a workaround and go on to show its not the chip its not the board. It works in another board that had the bug...the bug solely lies in the bios.

I like the board. As always hardware is only good as software that controls it. Bugs can be annoying but software issues are fixable. Hardware deficiencies are not fixable. Best to buy what can be fixed via software and what does not have hardware limitations.

Thanks for your opinion. Indeed I decided to get the Asrock Taichi because the price difference is significant: almost 45 dollars less than the standard CH6 and $70 than CH6 wifi (Amazon prices; a friend will bring the board to me).

Have you tried any of the newer BIOSes for the X370 Taichi? I've really like beta 3.20a. FYI here is FTP site that has all BIOS including unlisted 4.70 ftp://asrock.cn/bios/am4

I'm on BIOS 4.60 with this board still using the 1700 at 3.9 with FlareX 14T and just ordered the 2700X.. But I can't cold boot into windows, with 3200 memory that is rated for this board, But I can runnn stable for days booting in from BIOS with overclocks..It goes into the 3 time on off loop and CPU ends up at stock speeds, from cold boot..

Brian, don't you recommend that board? I'm asking 'cause I have GB AB350 Gaming 3 and decided it'd be a good idea to have something with a better VRM.

This is the best board that you can get.
Every board has their own bios bugs and problems.

I've noticed that my chip runs on rather low voltage at LLC3, which is what I use at 3.8+ Ghz. I also get some weird cold boot issues and I have no idea what exactly is going on. It basically "locks" the CPU as if 3.8 Ghz would be the "standard" CPU clock and it boosts to 4.0 Ghz, outputting quite a bunch of voltage to the CPU. This began happening on 3.20.
Also, those F9 codes that happens sometimes. Just try to leave the computer and let it boot. It should reproduce that "Cold Bug"issue I mentioned.

I'm hating this board right now.. I have always had memory Issues.. I have never been able to run anything higher than 2666 stable, and by stable I mean from cold boot into system with no issues.. I'm running FlareX at 3200 right now, with a 2700X, But I can only do so From the BIOS.. If I Cold boot it will go into the F9 3 X LOOP, and then set everything back to factory.. This fucking sucks I can't shut down my PC without losing my Memory speeds.. I just got the 2700X and didn't even overclock it, and I'm still having these memory Issues.. I used to blame the fact that I couldn't go higher than 2666 on my old 1700... You would think after buying a 2700X and Flashing to latest BIOS, IT would just run smooth at stock but it doesn't.. I spent a whole year watching other people hit 3200 3400 and 3600, and now with flareX and a 2700X I still can't hit 3200 from a cold boot.. Keep getting F9 error code, no matter what settings and volt's I throw at it.. Guess I'm gonna have to buy a new motherboard after all.. This sucks AND (ASRock sucks to because they have known about this $200 Motherboard and all of it's BIOS issues for over a freaking year and still haven't come out with one BIOS that just works right!!!!!!) It's all firmware issues to cus this board was over kill as far as the way it was made...

every x370 board made from any manufacturer has these problems, its a new platform. asus are even worse and gigabyte brick themselves.

This board his been disappointing for me due to the number of bios bugs. I think I'll pass on ASRock next time around. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I have the LLC bug as well. Ticks me off. I also would never use the hex settings for memory. NEVER!! Also about every other cold boot I get 78 debug code. I hit the reset button and it will boot 2nd go around. I am at 4.0 at 1.4v. I leave cpu voltage at the top at default and only adjust cpu core voltage offset below. Works good. If I touch the Cpu voltage above at all it won’t boot.

Hi chew, following you from overclockers forum, I have always left Core Performance Boost on AUTO (not touched it actually) and used Pstates, could this be the reason I have random crashes, mainly on Premiere, Adobe stuff? I thought it was a RAM issue but I am curious if this would try to go above the pstate levels, just curious, I thought it would auto disable if not on Original settings. thank you for all your information.

The 3.8GHz artificial wall is real, you put anything over that and the board won't post on a chip good to go 4GHz on other boards. Asrock had a great start with this board but then it seems like if they had put their trainee to work on the board and now it's been months with this piece o * bios. Just sad.
